@blaineg@medz@RiotDemon those are evacuation flaps… made to get you out of the ride if it stops moving, presumably they would stop the water flow so it wouldn’t fill up if it stops spinning.
@medz I remember having some of those when we lived in the upper midwest (MN and WI). They were super toasty and the ‘back flap’ was handy for those romantic assignations out in the snowy countryside…
Would I ride that? I’d go to China to ride that. Though honestly, it looks like it would be kind of boring since it moves so slowly. It would definitely be hell for those that are claustrophobic.
@cinoclav Don’t think it would be worse than any closed, stationary waterslide as far as claustrophobia is concerned.
And yeah, I’m with you… I would definitely stand in line for that!
@heartny Except that it’s a lot less mucusy and the colors aren’t all shades of pink [and brown]. Also, I hope that my colo-rectal specialist doesn’t go back and forth that much during my 'scope, or he’s no longer doing the job I’m paying him for.
Honestly it looks like a marvel of engineering, and I hope it works smoothly. It doesn’t necessarily reinvent the waterslide, but it would be fun to try nonetheless!
@sammydog01
/giphy Oh hell yes
@mediocrebot WTF
Probably not. Trapping in a spinning tube filled with water? What could go wrong?
DEATH. That’s what.
@medz it has evacuation flaps.
@medz @RiotDemon I don’t know that the flaps make it better though?!?!?! I still envision dying inside that monstrosity
@RiotDemon evacuation flaps…
@medz @RiotDemon
I’m unconvinced, that was a lot of bolts holding that “flap” down.

It looks like a giant colonoscopy

I’d probably ride it, but I wouldn’t be the first to ride it. Sort of like the first manned Chinese spacecraft.
@mehcuda67 Except for having no desire to go to China, I would ride it- as you said, after a number of others have gone first…
@mehcuda67 @PhysAssist assembled in China but looks like a German engineered/manufactured product based on the website at the end of the video

Oh HELL yeah. I would do it in a heartbeat. looks like 2 minutes of amazing waterslide!
Hey 6-flags… are you paying attention… hint, hint…
Gotta love German engineering…
