A pair of incredibly crummy “jumpropeser cables”, a tire pressure gauge that really ought to be in the driver’s door pocket, a few “I don’t care if these get stolen” screwdrivers and such, a pair of thin white cotton gloves suitable for determining that everything under the hood is filthy, some electrical terminals but no stripper or crimper, and a roll of electrical tape that will be firmly stuck to the inside of the case when it’s next opened.
Back in the '80s, I had a source for these kits at wholesale for $2.70 each in cases of 24. I didn’t buy them then, either. The even-crummier 40-piece socket sets for $2.20, yes, and we sold them for $5 with a notation that they were really terrible - but at this price you could afford to risk having it get lost or stolen, right on the card in the display case.
Eternal might be a bit of a stretch.
