I’m a little worried that all the Kool Kids are just going to be whispering to each other all the time, and us Lame Losers are gonna be stuck in an empty forum. JUST LIKE IN FOURTH GRADE.
@UncleVinny I kind of doubt it. It’s probably best that it took this long for such a feature to come to fruition, because I think there’s definitely a desire to ‘be a community’ here. Though time will tell!

Regarding whispers - don’t use them to spam or harass someone and we likely won’t have reason to look. If you make us look, it’ll suck for everyone. We’d rather not read the notes you pass in class.
The flip-side of that is: If anyone is harassing or spamming you via PM. Send a message to CS with the info and we’ll have someone with access dig into it.
I’m not sure about the whole thing where mediocrebot takes any name in a post and tosses them in the reply- I could see that getting unwieldy after a few rounds with more and more names added.
Crap, so now I am going to have to actually check the BS address I gave for my email all the damn time! I use that address so I can have random shit I don’t really need to see accumulate in one place that I can check every so often (weekly/monthly) then do a mass delete to start fresh. Now if someone sends me a ‘whisper’ the only way I’ll know it’s there is to check my email. I already have way to many ways to be distracted. I don’t really need this too. Seems like having it push to the forum or a separate place under your “account” button would be much easier (plus I wouldn’t have to go to the email constantly from the website to check to see if I have a whisper…) SIGH

Topic start has Comment block but not Whisper, like the comments do. If the topic initiator doesn’t go ahead and comment on her/his own thread, you will have to do some digging.
@Kidsandliz the “top post” (i.e topic) doesn’t have a whisper option. If the initial poster doesn’t post a comment to their own thread, you can’t whisper to them by just clicking the whisper icon (Unless you type in their name once you click a different whisper link).
This is a nice topic you got here @brhfl. It’d be a shame if someone locked this one too.
