Last year Meh sold a Shark–a low end hand held. I bought it and two more since then on meh. This is where I push myself away from the dinner table and say no more Jello for me @snapster!
I have the model below this one. Super light (good for the houses with big stairways like we have) but would not recommend for pet houses. Have 3 women with long hair and I have to clean hair off the brushes every few weeks or it’s completely inoperative.
@Ozzie2191 Ozzie, mine friend, I do hope you aren’t saying that having 3 women with long hair qualifies as a pet house. Umm, because one or two of us womenz might suggest that you might not want to say that. Or anything remotely like that. And I’m sure you want that to be clear to the universe, no?
@gertiestn i simply put it poorly that it has some issue with managing lots of hair. Pets typically shed like crazy and if it struggles to handle human hair, pet hair is going to be a challenge.

Just wanted to say that I bought a new Shark that was offered here last month and IT ROCKS. OK, it SUCKS, but it’s wonderful. And every time I see those headlights go on I start giggling. I’m easy, but still.

@davelevy@stinks The Meh vacuum has the dual-brush technology and the ability to remove the canister from the brush-base (the handle stays connected to the brush base)
The costco model is a single brush technology and you can remove the canister from the brush base, but on this one the handle stays connected to the canister/motor like a canister-style vacuum instead of an upright.
I don’t know if that provides any clarification for those who aren’t familiar, but they are very different vacuums from one another (I have an older one similar to the costco model and am very happy with it–ymmv on what attachments come with the kit)

The main difference is the “Powered Head” When you detach the canister from the NV802, you can keep vacuuming with the main head still attached to the handle so as to get under beds, furniture, etc. When you detach the canister from your model UV540 at Costco, you detach from the main vacuum head (motorized beater brush head) and are limited to using the hand-held attachments at the end of the hose handle. The 5th picture on meh shows what I mean by still having the motorized brush head in action whilst the canister is detached…
I…kinda want it. Though I’m another one that already bought a handheld shark and then the Shark Rocket both from here. I love them both and they work wonderfully in my multi-pet household. So I don’t need it…but maybe the little shark family I’ve got going would like another member…

@markriddle in fairness - it is impossible for third parties like local vacuum repair shops to get repair parts from Shark. So the local repair guy laughs when you bring a Shark in. Gotta send it to Shark.
We’ve owned both Dyson and Shark and they both break. But you don’t also break the bank up front buying the Shark.
Gotta love this Shark’s 7 year warranty! I don’t think that comes with them when you buy @ Costco. (Although the shipping back to Shark kinda puts a damper on it.)
I bought this model a few weeks ago and it is great. It replaced a Dyson that died and it is far better. It does equally well on vacuuming different surfaces (going from a carpeted room to a tiled bathroom).
Shark Vacuums are awesome!!! Bought this model from the other place in January for $165.00 to replace my Shark Navigator that I’ve had for 7 years. The old Navigator still worked but the hinge on the canister broke and the hose got a crack in it but still sucked great. With the new Shark Lift-Away the canister seems a little smaller but doesn’t have the filter unit that goes inside the canister that needs consent cleaning. On the Lift-Away I wish the hose was a little longer too. The led lights are an added bonus and help. The Lift-Away feature allows me to now vacuum under the bed where I wasn’t able to do this with the old Navigator.
But overall, this thing is as I stated, it’s awesome and I’ll be using Shark Vacuums forever!
I bought a Shark Navigator Lift-Away 6 or 7 years ago. It’s the best vacuum I’ve ever had! The HEPA filter works as advertised (I have allergies) and it sucks up cat hair tumbleweeds from my three cats, human hair, and yes, even piles of old leftover candy corn, though you may want to wear earplugs for that one. One of the best things is that Shark made it easy to get things out on the rare occasion that something clogs the vacuum and it’s easy to clean the brush head, though I’ve only had to do it a couple times. My old Shark still works as well as the day I got it, but I kinda want to buy this one now… Does Meh employ a Jedi to influence us or am I just a sucker?

Wednesday does not appear to be a duo-clean. That might make the difference for some who may be purchasing this model for that particular feature. The duo-clean feature is that there are 2 rollers (1 microfiber and one brush) on the bottom of the unit, instead of just one brush roller.
