They were surprised you could get close to it and even more surprised to learn there are still people living there. I’d love to see the amusement park in person.
@carl669 Wonder what they consider unsafe? The exposure for a day trip is considered less than what you receive in background radiation just flying there. And I promise not to ride the Ferris wheel. Ah well, I’d rather spend my money on my ski trips at this point in my life.
@cinoclav it’s mainly all the buildings. there’s no reason to maintain them, so they will start to collapse in the next few years most likely. for now though, they’re still stable. kind of. except for that part of the second floor that collapsed. but we do not speak of that.

This was a thank you gift from the Coptic church that I sang a special concert at, where we mixed traditional Coptic themes with western music styles. It was amazing and so well received, and the first time many of the songs had ever been sung with harmonies.
This entry includes both light and dark themes. It’s dark because it includes the ashes of lost love ones, my dad and three of our dogs. It’s light because it also includes photos and gifts from beloved family members.

@cinoclav do it soon if you can. our guide seemed to think they may shut down touring the abandoned town in the next 10 years for safety reasons.
