Scary Dolls and IRK Reveal!
25Sorry it took an extra day…turns out I broke my hand in the accident and was all drugged up after spending the day dealing with insurance, x-rays, etc. But, here it finally is!
The IRK was just a VERY beat up Cuisinart box…so I def expected some serious regret.
But, to my surprise, inside was a brand new 3 in one food processor, blender, juicer combo along with some China Glaze nail polish, a iPhone 6 battery case and a Fusion Bio 2 health tracker! No purple tote for me…but, I’m a fan of orange so no regrets here!
Now in to Joe’s famous scary stuff! Boxes sporting fragile stickers and all!
Here’s the Mummified Skull Bookends. These things are AWESOME!! The detail is amazing!
Frankie made it unscathed…well…I mean, it did, but, like you’d be able to tell if it didn’t?!? Again, the detail is amazing here…pics don’t do it justice. He’s going to get to watch over the Gears of War 5 special edition xBox in the living room.
And, of course, the Zombie Enlightenment Lamp!! This thing is crazy…and, unnamed. Gonna have to find a name for him…and a super special bulb.
Here they are all together, backdropped by the mountain of Texas air and the ever elusive bubble wrap!
I’m super honored to own these and can’t thank @Koolhandjoe & Meh enough for giving us the opportunity to get them. The event was sooo much fun and I really hope they do it again soon!

I am very pleased you like them… and if it helps… I display stuff year round… mainly because I am too lazy to put it away
@Koolhandjoe hahaha, I live in that world too. Stuff gets put up only when it gets in the way… often only when it REALLY gets in the way too.
@Koolhandjoe granted, my stuff is cheap after halloween sale stuff, not the great stuff you make, but I have a dog skeleton and a unicorn skeleton in my office at work. I dress the dog up seasonally.
@OnionSoup that is great… you should toally corpse it
@Koolhandjoe @OnionSoup i have a small cat skeleton and zombie yard gnomes from the 99 cents only store on the bookcase now. Hint for next Halloween, the 99 cents only stores always seem to have zombie or skeleton yard gnomes of varying poses. They are super popular and sell out every year.
A good mehtizen would self-regulate on items of such scarcity… just sayin’. I personally didn’t want any of those doll-heads, but three to one member is kinda selfish. Just because you can do something, does not always mean you should. (Prepping for negative comments)
@crow You are not getting one from me. I agree with you totally.
@crow @Felton10 so, you’re not going to get any negative comments from me here. However, I do want to address this.
While I totally understand where you’re coming from here, suggesting everyone self regulate here just isn’t a plausible solution to your frustrations.
It’s up to Meh to decide the rules of engagement for such events and I don’t think it’s fair to blame the players.
I operated fully within those rules. If I hadn’t stayed up for over 24 hours, blew off work and all other obligations I had at time and played the game, setting timers and being on the ball for every-single-product switch; someone else would’ve done it. In fact, another person scored 4 of them. I’ve even received personal communication from the overlords that I did nothing wrong here.
I’ve been here 6 years, have had lots of practice learning how to win the Fuko/IRK game and I’ve absolutely failed a bunch before I got really really good at it.
It’s the same reason that I can walk into any carnival, fair or theme park’s game court and walk away with the giant stuffed animal playing the rope ladder game. I built my own at home and practiced until I mastered it…I can even do it with no hands.
I understand guys are frustrated…but, please don’t shit on my parade here and blame me for putting in the time and effort to pull this feat off.
Keep at it, put in the time/effort and you have just as much of a chance of winning the next one that I will.
/giphy don’t hate
@PHRoG No hate. I think I was just reacting more to the “tragedy of the commons“ and how it was unfolding right before my eyes. I understand you’re just playing the game; and Mediocrebot has more important problems to worry about than something like this.
Also, at the rate that Meh is increasing the frequency of their meh-rathons, we will probably have a meh-rathon every week by the end of the year. So plenty of opportunity to practice!
@crow @PHRoG I totally agree that is it is Meh responsibility to limit the purchase of these precious items same as they do for IRK’s during a Mehrathon. (ARE YOU LISTENING MEH?) And I also agree that if you hadn’t done it, someone else would have. But none the less it is a shame that 7 of the items went to two people.
I do applaud the time and effort you have put in to mastering the system. I just wish either via Meh or everyone who felt the need to corner the market, that more people could have enjoyed the owning these items.
@crow @Felton10 @PHRoG I’m mostly awed that you put up your own rope ladder and practiced just to game the carnivals.
That’s next level.
@PHRoG
You know I supported you when this happened. You followed the rules. But a lot of people put in the time and effort and didn’t get shit. I would bet that you have some technical advantage that you may not even be aware of. Which is OK but acting like you’re some clicking god and everyone else didn’t try hard enough is obnoxious. So enjoy your haul, you deserved it and it’s all going to a good home but maybe dial it back a bit.
@crow @Felton10 @mehcuda67 @PHRoG I would love one in my backyard too but my neighbors would light me up on nextdoor; complaining about all the stuffed animals and the carnival worker’s cigarette butts.
@sammydog01 I’m really sorry you feel that way, that’s absolutely was not at all what I was trying to convey there.
Congrats. You got two of my favorite pieces from that day, the bookends and the lamp. Hope the accident/injury is not a result of the curse that was included free with the Joe works.
@djslack Joe personally guaranteed the dolls had nothing to do with it…but, did assure me they fully intend to haunt the guy who t-boned me.
/giphy haunt
@djslack @PHRoG well, now you have the perfect name for the lamp… T-Bone!
Hate to be a downer on how many he got but Meh really should limit one of a kind items like that to one per person like they do on IRKs.
@Felton10 I disagree. A person who wins multiple items is more likely to proudly display a set, while a single item winner might keep it in the box until the “the right occasion” to bring it out.
DIPLOMAT! RAT-A-TAT! FAT CAT! AWESOME!
Sorry about your hand - hope you heal quickly. Wow, though, on your IRK and original Joes - that’s amazing!
@rm9116 thanks! It’s actually my first ever broken bone(s). Thought it was just some soft tissue damage asking with a sprain but nope, far right two bones in the body of the right hand were very clearly snapped in two!
Turns out they can’t even cast it… Just gotta take it easy and let it heal on its own.
@PHRoG @rm9116 I’ve broken a couple by being a naughty boy. The most recent one was a shattered humerus, which is now reinforced by like half a pound of titanium.
Grats on winning three, although honestly they should’ve limited it to one per person like IRKs. I won one of the tiny ones, which I’ll set up in the future after my home circumstances change.
How did you score all that stuff? It all sold out in seconds.
@ponagathos tons of caffeine, lots of practice and perfect timing with a smidge of luck.
Used a 2 year old cell phone and home wifi. Refreshed right when it ticked down to 0, smashed buy with right thumb, swiped up to scroll down with left thumb, proved I wasn’t a robot with same left thumb and smashed Yes! Fine! Just buy it already! with right thumb.
The fact that you got 3 of Joe’s things is amazing with the sell out at one. You will be set for halloween with this stuff in your windows then. (grin)
With that kind of speed and timing do you get an irk each time too?
@Kidsandliz yeah, I’m torn if I should store them to keep them dust/sun-fade free and display them just for scary season or use them full time. My daughter is likely to steal one when she comes to get the food processor though, lol!
Yes, I’ve managed to score an IRK each time…I think the last time I missed one was the 2019 Halloween meh-rathon due to doing the trick or treat thing with friends and family. I didn’t get to the recent side deal one in time either. I think my run is at 17 or 18 now.
@PHRoG Full time in plexiglass cases?
@sammydog01 oooooh, I kind this idea!
@sammydog01 errr, kind = like.
Typed with thumbs autocorrect fail.
@Kidsandliz @PHRoG
WOW!
@PHRoG @sammydog01 if only there was someone 20 minutes from Pdx that had lasers and acrylic and wood to make special cases for them…
@sammydog01 @sillyheathen I will absolutely take you up on this. Get to work!
I won the corpses torsos and they are amazing! I haven’t put them on display yet. I am in the process of migrating some items to a newly installed bookshelf and all my wall stuff is awaiting new placements.
@shoelessjoek glad they found a good home
@Koolhandjoe I want these two to be in the same display space as my tamagotchi collection (which is currently in a remodel) I want that bright and happy to be broken up with the dark and decaying. Just haven’t figured out the best setup yet.
@shoelessjoek I like that… I have a 3ft tall unicorn skeleton I am working on… and instead of making it like those I am going with whites and purples and using various glitter glue colors for the gore… for almost the same reason… something about the happy colors being used in gory way intrigues me
@Koolhandjoe that sounds amazing! I think it’s a yin-yang balancing thing going on. I’ll be sure to post an update picture once the wall is finished. Thank you for your awesome creations. They are honestly adorable. You are awesome at what you do!
LEGOS! EGGOS! STRATEGO! AWESOME!
You should put some kind of flickering light in the lamp, that would look awesome. Congrats on the cuisinart 3 in 1 that’s awesome!
VAN GOGH! MANGO! TANGO! AWESOME!
@Star2236 A few years back Target had a flickering skull oversized light bulb that was AMAZING and would be perfect for this.
@mossygreen @Star2236 yeah I was thinking some kind of old fashioned looking tube bulb, kinda like those nixie tube lamps.
The flickering skull sounds like a neat idea too! Will have to look those up.
@mossygreen @PHRoG @Star2236 I wonder if there’s a Jacobs Ladder with an Edison base. THAT would be amazing.
This was a fun IRK. We got a Thanos hand!
@bradyson That glove is great!
@sammydog01 the gauntlet is fun and powerful LOL
No Regrats here.
a steamer for dewrinkling some clothes, a few makeup brushes my wife will probably use maybe, and 25 face masks to toss in the truck. Also, the PURPLE IRK BAG!!!
My irk had a purple irk bag (YAAAASS)
A king sized pillow
An Anakin Skywalker Disney infinity character with fx for my Disney infinity loving kid…yes he has Anakin Skywalker already BUT NOT THE ONE THAT LIGHTS UP. He’s happy.
A wireless neck speaker
A folding portable mini fan with flashlight, perfect for baseball games, etc.
Much more fun than the last one!
My camera and lighting both suck, but my “Lady Beth” came earlier in the week. I set it out on the breakfast bar when I got home. I have a 5 yr old daughter and a 2 year old son. Needless to say, they were terrified. She cried, which made him cry and they told my how creepy it was. Best $5 I can remember spending on meh.
My wife was not thrilled about the doll, and now Lady Beth protects my booze downstairs. Who needs a child proof lock when you got this thing watching over your stash.
Thanks again @Koolhandjoe
Edit: You know it’s realistic when facebook tries to get you to tag the doll as a person
@lichme epic… I shouldn’t take pride in making small children cry… but I totally do… thanks and seems like she found a good home
I was freakishly lucky enough the land not just one, but TWO of @koolhandjoe 's fine handiwork. Introducing my new roommates:
Agatha,
and Annie Bell.
These are supremely cool, @Koolhandjoe. They will be displayed prominently in my home, and I’ve already had several friends and family asking where I got these so I hope your Etsy shop will be stocked again soon. Thanks so much for parting with them!
@jdude727 Thanks for that… glad you like them… and so glad they found a good home
@PHRoG I thought you’d snagged scare bear too for some reason! I think that also came to Oregon. These are so amazeballs!
You got the damn lamp!!!
Congrats to everyone who scored Joe dolls. Not gonna lie i’m freakin jealous. I was so close and had timers but either my internet or my seriously cracked phone was just a second too late on these.
You only bought three of the one of a kind dolls? What amazing self control you must have. lol
@clonetek Meh.
