So I probably won’t buy this anyway (partly because we just sprung for an Instapot), but I’m wondering if the plastic pieces would be new. Cross-contamination from strangers, donchaknow.
@sammydog01 Exactly. Isn’t it? Is it? How open is “open box”? The wife is considering. Wait, nope, she says 2.5 quarts is too damn small. Dilemma averted.
Multi-cooker … because they couldn’t just say fancy rice cooker?
@narfcake is it similar to an a instapot or is that a pressure cooker?
@narfcake @RiotDemon it is similar in that it is round and shiny.
@RiotDemon The Instapot is a pressure cooker. This is mainly a rice cooker.
@narfcake @RiotDemon *Instant Pot. I’m all for shortening names, but that one is the same number of syllables, and I don’t like it.
My rice cooker sprays rice water all over the counter- is this one better?
@sammydog01 It’s not a Cuisinart, is it? Mine did that.
@narfcake It’s that select high end brand “homeMAX”. I think my last one spit too.

At least I didn’t have to prove I wasn’t a robot again
The last “gag” picture isn’t really your best work, Meh.
@shahnm they don’t normally have gag photos on mehrathons unless they’ve sold the item before, then they recycle.
@RiotDemon Don’t make excuses for them.
It’s $168.98 on Amazon.
@sammydog01 These are open box.
@narfcake That would explain the discount.
So I probably won’t buy this anyway (partly because we just sprung for an Instapot), but I’m wondering if the plastic pieces would be new. Cross-contamination from strangers, donchaknow.
@joelmw It’s new, isn’t it?
@sammydog01 Exactly. Isn’t it? Is it? How open is “open box”? The wife is considering. Wait, nope, she says 2.5 quarts is too damn small. Dilemma averted.
@joelmw *Instant Pot. Why is everyone saying the name wrong?
I can’t find a review so I guess I’ll keep putting towels on my counter when I make rice.
@sammydog01 it’s $19! Buy it and cancel later!
@RiotDemon @sammydog01 Considering that thoroughly reviewed rice cookers can be had brand new for ~$30, this isn’t a huge savings.
is 10 inches the size of the pot or of the box? If the pot, it’s quite large!
Either way, it is about 1 cup per inch which seems like a reasonable volume to size ratio.
@salpo But 10 cups is only 2.5 quarts.
Just so I will feel bad, or lucky, what did I miss in the last couple of hours?
@texmarc Except for IRKs not much.
@texmarc There was an IRK, so yes, regret.
