I've not trolled anyone... the unfortunate part of your Internet generation is that you think that disagreement and debate are TROLLING it is NOT. Disagreement is...well... when I disagree with your opinion on whatever you have an opinion on... Debate is when we then go back and forth providing merits for our position. If I zing you along the way for holding a stupid opinion or missssspellig something - not even that is trolling. Trolling is dropping into a thread, saying something wildly inflammatory and then sitting back and watching what all the thread participants respond with... with special joy in being able to inflame the most mentally challenged of them. I did NOT troll at woot - the biggest thing that happened there was the debate with @snapster about the screen resolution of woot.com and then the THIRD iteration (you probably stopped reading by now - a point made) of woot.com which foisted upon the masses the most horrid puke multiple shades of green with no contrast and largely missing Orange....and ... they fixed it. So grow up, wise up, learn your terms, stop whining and go sit in the corner and think about what you've done:

@unixrab Now a messiah complex on how you fixed Woot? Someone who "disagrees" incessantly and embraces a title of 'devil' rarely has much of value to say. I never called you a troll, I said you craved attention. TBH I couldn't care less what you did on Woot. I was a quiet member there who mostly bought from Deals.Woot and the occasional Dyson, laptop or Leakfrog. What you do here is hang around to be irritable. The problem with your "generation" (as meaningless as when you use it) is that you think being contrary all the time is equal to being productive and helpful. You're the kind of person who argues endlessly and at the end claimed "Oh, I was just playing devil's advocate"


I might also add that navigating a forum and responding to posts that ask to for special attention is hardly "trolling"--it seems you have fallen into your own criticism--you cannot handle people disagreeing with how to interact with others.

@dis_member I would say 90% of the time - I post my lack of love for a particular product - or hate on @mediocrebot and the rest of you attack. I didn't fix woot - didn't say I fixed it. (Just curious: What were your reading comprehension scores ?) I said I didn't like it (as did a great many others) and THEY FIXED IT (stop here, go look at the third line above Elliot Ness) So..see? You gotta read more carefully bruh ;-) If you don't like my disagreement .. leave me alone. @Thumperchick @Ignorant I guess I was assuming that it would be a function of one's individual account. Kinda like blocking someone on FB (only not as extreme). Not sure what it would take to implement, but it seems like it could be more automated that way. Each user would automatically have their designated douches blurred.

@joelmw that's going too far for me. Part of a community is seeing all views. Sometimes, someone you classify as a "douche" has something great to contribute. I think it should be on a comment by comment basis.

@Thumperchick The age old question. Everyone wants no assholes, but which asshole decides which assholes are really assholes? I realize you are saying 'optional-click-to-see' but it's too slippery a slope, imo. Especially for one person to control (or even a mob, as you said earlier), and also very difficult to stay on top of anyway. I'd rather not have to click every blur, to see if I really wanted that one blurred. Could they also blur the curse words for those who don't like them? Nudity? "Gross" pics? Would look very different around here. Could/would/should some coding be done to implement some kind of 'PG version' buttons/filters? "I want a not-this-asshole button" "I want a not-that-asshole button." If there were an app for that on an individually customizable basis, ok. (A personal "TooAnnoying;DR.) But less than that would make this place less. End my soapbox-sounding opinion. I DO see the possible fun in it but in reality I think it might end up just sucking. TL;DR Nah, not for me.

@dashcloud Very different, true. Defcon is a big party. BSides is more professional security people but it has flavor. If your local to NY, you can try some of the near BSides events (BSides Charm http://www.securitybsides.com/w/page/80637041/BSidesCharm2015 is being run by good people).
