@vinuash I remember when a shady company in Texas sold a whole box of sun glasses for about $1 each… I wore a pair of those less than 24hrs ago. Kept my family sunglassioed for a few years now.
I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can, so I can
Watch you weave then breathe your story lines
And I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can, so I can
Keep track of the visions in my eyes
@CasualFriday@TheCraiggers This came up before on a different sunglass discussion. There is nothing inherently super-expensive about adding polarization. Many people like it depending on what usage they will be doing. There are also some reasons someone may not want polarized lenses. For example, certain types of electronic flat-panel displays can’t be viewed correctly with polarized glasses on, so you need non-polarized. These might be in vehicles, airplanes, ship navigation, etc.
With Ray-Bans, you are (supposedly) paying for the quality of the frame construction, good lenses, nice outer case, pretty box, and of course marketing and brand name recognition. Also as far as I know, Ray-Bans are still not made in China for $2, but made in Europe or USA. You are not paying for a $2 glass + $50-$150 for polarization – if anything it’s the other way around.
If you are looking for RB polarized sunglasses, they only way RB makes them is with a letter “P” right next to the RB logo on the lens. No “P” and they are just UV coated.
@clonetek I would have actually PAID for them today, but… RB3498 is already OOS. Only two mens styles were available, and now only one is – and not the one I’d want. OK maybe more $1 glasses next time…
As a guy that works in the optical field, I can tell you these are over runs and older models that RB would offer to places lie meh, woot, Dr offices and other closeout type of places. At this price Meh is still making a nice mark up.
I remember the good old days when I could buy my ray bans from a man on the streets of NYC, not from some shady company in Texas.
@vinuash LOL!!
@vinuash I’d rather support Frankie Eyeglasspockets than Luxottica, that’s for sure.
@vinuash The $10 Tag I bought on Canal in my teens is still the best watch I’ve ever owned!

Not polarized, therefore not interested unfortunately.
@pat4ever 2nd the lack of motion.
@pat4ever Agreed!
@pat4ever I thought the RB3449 were polarized? Am I missing something?
@pat4ever @SpaceDog There would be a “P” next to the ray ban logo on the lens if that was so.
@pat4ever @tomdina ah okay thanks!!
Did you actually get James Carville’s permission to use his picture?
@shahnm underrated af reply
You do not want to kill Covid-19? Are you some kind of virus rights activist?
@hchavers I take all my UV light internally.
@SpocKirk
I wear my sunglasses at night. But not while I’m driving. That would be irresponsible.
@jsh139 OK, Corey

@jsh139 And WTF does that shit even mean?
@Trinityscrew Got me! But it’s a catchy tune…
I don’t see anything in the description to say whether the lenses are polarized or not. Which means they are likely not and thus overpriced as heck.
@CasualFriday I came here looking for the same info. I don’t care if they’re GoldBans, $60 for non-polarized sunglasses is insane.

Being police I don’t think I’m even allowed to order these… CHIPS single handedly ruined a style of sunglasses for every cop

@admiralpoopants um, no, giphy, that wasn’t quite what I intended…
To be forth coming the frames suck
or i would jump on this deal
Highly unenthusiastic about feeding the Luxottica machine.
Liked Ray-Bans until that.
One other tidbit.

@somf69 Not true.

What the heck is that last picture for? It’s too early in the morning to be scared (scarred?) like that!
If you guys are interested in high end luxotica sunglasses on the cheap you should check out eyedictive. It’s like meh, but only sunglasses.
Thank you Meh, I always wanted to look like a movie star.
Still love my $5 polarized fishing sunglasses from a big box store.
And if they break or I lose them, I’m only out the $5 it takes to get a new pair.
60 Minutes ruined all sunglasses with their Luxottica report. I can’t pay more than $50 for a pair of glasses now.
I hope I get a pair of the RB3498 in my IRK I got the other day!
@clonetek I would have actually PAID for them today, but… RB3498 is already OOS. Only two mens styles were available, and now only one is – and not the one I’d want. OK maybe more $1 glasses next time…
@clonetek @pmarin ah, so, the only one I want is gone.
excellent! $59 saved.
No Predators? No Baloramas? No wraps of any kind? No dice!
Actually, as hard as I am on sunglasses, every frame style offered looks like they’re just itching to become “those busted Ray Bans”.
@ruouttaurmind May 2nd 2017 46,000+ pairs of $1 sunglasses sold. I still have a few pairs left.
@ergomeh As do we all. I keep mine inside dozens of BUILT neoprene cases.
@ruouttaurmind I’m running low. No where near low enough to spend $59 but there will come a time when difficult choices will need to be made…

Got my Bay Rans in Mexico for 25 pesos
@buzzerbaby Ray Baños
I wanna be friends with about 95% of the people posting comments. The other 5% not so much.
@jbirdjess At this time, there are roughly 20 comments.
Are you the 5%?
@TBoneZeOriginal …so I wouldn’t want to be friends with myself? I’m a fucking delight.

OK, that GIF has absolutely nothing to do with my order code. Let’s try again: This is slightly better.
@jelliott04 Yes, I would find her some coffee.

@somf69 And? If meh makes good money, good on them. And long as I get a good deal I am happy.
@somf69 @ThunderChicken Yep, that’s the way stuff works. I like it fine the way it is. Except for the creepy last photos. Those are disturbing.
@somf69 they are still pretty nice.

Love them, ordered 2.
Got my men’s non aviator’s today, they’re pretty nice! Just hope I don’t lose them
They’re the shit! So light! Thanks MEEEEEHHHHH
