I love it, and can’t recommend it enough! I’m an eBay seller, and come across a lot of cool frames that I send in to get my prescription put in.
There’s a lot of sites like these, so I’m pretty sure that’s what most people are using these for.

FWIW, 55 is pretty standard and actually looks a bit big on my face, so rly not that tiny for most
Besides being for people who want to get prescription lenses or sunglass lenses in them, they could be great for Halloween costumes or just to appear smarter as well.
Maybe too masculine to be a good pair of bukkake, erm, safety goggles. If you’re in that industry, though, you probably already have a line on glasses. I bet you are either really good at cleaning glasses or you go through quite a few pairs.

Currently I have pretty big lenses (about 50mm tall) but I like having the real estate to handle far, mid, and close-up focusing. I am interested though because I might want to switch things up.

@melonscoop yes, exactly. When you buy glasses you buy frames and lenses and then they cut/grind the lenses to fit in the frames. So you’re just buying the frames one place and bringing them to get lenses. It shouldn’t be a big deal, although I’ve never done it like that.
@melonscoop Wasn’t there a pretty good list of options the last time this happened? The lens-only places were still lots more expensive than buying a frame and lenses at Zenni Optical, but some folks thought it was a good deal.

Couldn’t figure out what it was, until one day she set them down on the counter for a bit and I was able to get a good look.

So yeah, some people will steal the display pair from a store just to wear glasses.

@audiocontr I was wondering about that. I need to measure my glasses to figure out what size they are.
@audiocontr normal range seems to be ~40mm-62mm. One site says “Wider faces should look for frame widths 52mm and higher.“

Because I was shopping for glasses last week (I went with Warby Parker) I just got a Facebook ad for this place that will make lenses for any frames.

@melonscoop Costco Optical will do it for an extra fee. Most non-discount optical places will do it.
