Will these keep my ferocious feline from filleting them? Seriously, any headphones with a cord are her prey, and even though these are “cordless”, I still see a cord connecting the two ear buds which could be a snack.

bone conduction headphones, but I’d like to find some standard ones to use also. The connecting bar is hard and doesn’t trigger the kitty’s ATTACK reflex (I’m not that lucky.) Kittens will be kittens I guess.
@Knightp@therealjrn We used to have a cat like that. Two things worked to protect thin exposed cables.
Spiral cable wrap worked by turning exciting thin cables into boring fat cables.
A somewhat dilute capsaicin solution applied to thin cables on an annual basis. Capsaicin is the “hot” in hot sauce. Hot sauce intended for human consumption may have other ingredients that cause other problems, such as attracting ants.
Our experience with this issue ended about 25 years ago when that cat died of old age, not electrocution. Back then, head phone cables went to the stereo, and thus weren’t compatible with vigorous exercise. Sweat and hot sauce against skin may produce an unpleasant reaction.
@Knightp One of my cats (9 mo old demented toddler kitten) views the phone charging cord, the antenna on the radio wire, the computer charging cord, my shoe laces, lamp cords and other cat tails as fair game to chew on. The other cats chew back. The rest of the stuff… well let’s just say there are tooth marks everywhere and it might almost be cheaper to have the thing just chew on money and get it over with. Another cat sticks her head up the toe of my shoe and with her back claws then tries to shred the thing. The rest are more civilized and chew on toes covered by blankets, cat toys and each other.
Ever since divesting from Beats, Monster actually makes some very good audio equipment; I own an Inspiration set, and it’s genuinely audiophile quality. Never used either being sold here, so no opinion on them, but the brand isn’t anything to run away from for music anymore.
I don’t care what anyone has to say to defend Monster products. Unless they’re now pricing the things they sell reasonably, which I don’t know, but I highly doubt, they still deserve to be shunned.
As for the (ahem) “quality” item - $170 MSRP (Monster silly, ridiculous price) - they have to make it here before they get a real MSRP (Meh Strictly Rational Price).
I’m sure $29 is what these things are actually worth.
So I got a refurb Monster wireless pair on Morning Save they are black and orange and they are better than my four different JBL wirless earbuds. They also had a wired pair for 5 bucks after hearing them I wish I had bought twenty of them OMG best wired earbuds period. I wanted to buy some more after hearing them but they are no longer on the site at least I got one pair of them. I have been burned a time or two with Meh.com and MorningSave looking at you Martain watches and Rowkins earbuds but these items were a score!! I bought they 29 dollar pair that are 39 over on MS can’t wait to hear them.
I’m curious how the fancier/expensiver ones, that still stick in your ear with rubber gaskets are not considered noise isolating.
Are they noise cancelling (but for some reason do not highlight this feature (unless that’s what “DJ quality” means))
Well, when you open the packaging and one of the first things that greets you is a notice about “breaking in” the headphones to get them to be more mellow, you know something is amiss. Indeed, the “Quality” headphones have a rather harsh tone in the upper mids and treble.
I would have been very disappointed if I had paid full price for these things. For $30 though, they are alright.
Is this the same Monster that upcharges 1000% on gold-plated HDMI cables?

@Knightp Well, yes, there is a cord. They sell those truly cordless ear buds sometimes. Have you considered feeding your cat more?
Perhaps sister-site morningsave.com might have a product both you and kitty can agree on. No shortage of choices there!

Three and a half stars for all that are on the 'Zon and way too small a sample size on the “good” ones? Hard pass.

@neveraging noise cancelation is usually referring to processing happening on the headphones to provide an “anti” wave to counteract external sound.

So far so good. Decent sound quality, great snug fit, survived 4 miles on the treadmill with ears full of sweat.
