@actionPacked from my experience with similar lithium starters, yes.
Two days ago I pulled out my 20000mAh pack that had been sitting in the garage for at least 6 months. It had three out of four lights of charge indicated. I jumped two different V6 cars, one of them twice. After that, it still indicated 3 out of 4 lights of charge.
I believe it’s recommended to charge these at least every 6 months.
The one on Amazon has good reviews, but this one is not the same only “similar”. I purchased one from Meh a couple years back, got stuck this summer It worked once and that was it, completely dead after that. Spend your $ on the type that is a sealed lead acid battery, yes it is bigger but they work great and more then once.
@JJfezz Or spend your money on a quality brand of one of these. I have one from RavPower that I’ve used many, many times to help people. I can use it anywhere from 5 to 10 times before recharging it and it will hold most of that charge with no problem for a few years.
@JJfezz I had the same experience - attempted to use it once (didn’t start my car) and completely dead after that. For clarification, that was a model previously sold on meh - not necessarily this one.
where are the reviews on this exact model?!? “Similar on Amazon” doesn’t cut it… these things are often hit or miss in terms of quality & longevity… 90 day warranty isn’t reassuring…
The one on Amazon looks much beefier than the one being sold. And like said above, no reviews—no deal for me. Already got burned on the Elwin headphones as I chanced it buying them even though there were terrible reviews. Lesson learned.
@mikeureko read comment below, it’s probably a cheaply made piece of crap. I’ve had bad experiences with battery packs purchased on meh, won’t buy here again for power packs.
@JJfezz@myi - I’ve had a Stanley 1000-amp lead-acid jumper-air compressor for more than a decade - it’s a pain to haul around, and I’ve used the compressor more than the jumper, but it’s been a big help to me and other people. Slow recharge and cost more than twice as much as this, but worth it. Looks like that particular model is about twice this price at WallyWorld.
Lead acid is safe but big, heavy, and self discharges in storage.
Lithium is a volatile battery but small and light and keeps a charge longer. Volatility is addressed with the protection device built into the jumper clamps, protecting you from shorting the battery or reverse connections. Assuming this unit has decent build quality, I’ll take a lithium pack over SLA for its size, weight, and storage benefits.
I just rebuilt a big SLA pack with AC inverter and air compressor for my mother in law. The integrated charger’s foldaway prongs had broken, so i added a charging cord. Then i found that the 12v 18Ah battery inside was toast due to deep self-discharge from storage. Plus it was too big and heavy for her to get around. She’s getting this unit back instead.
I have tried at least a half dozen different Lion jump packs either directly or by giving them to relatives. Mystery brand ones often do not hold up in the long run. I have a BEATIT brand one that is working well and they just happen to have those as deal of the day at Amazon for similar prices. I love meh but…
I’ve also got the BEATIT Model # G18 QDSP and they’ve got it on sale right now for 69.95 Which is a hell of a deal, it will even wirelessly charge your cell phones if they have that feature. It really is a bad ass charger and it has cranked up everything that I’ve thrown at it, here’s a link to it while it’s on sale for 15 more hours
@cmostrowski you’ve got to go through the smile link through Amazon, when I posted it it smelled clean the link up and changed it to the regular Amazon not through smile???
Wonder what black friday will bring at the auto stores, maybe similar jump start packs? Haven’t seen any leaked fliers yet, but would rather get something with a 6 month or 1 yr warranty.
Are these jumper cables safe to attach to my nipples?
@vinuash Of course.
/giphy safe nipples

@vinuash It says right on the box “For External Use Only”, so your good. See what happens when you attach to your nutsac too.
@vinuash I think there may be a few websites out there dedicated to that.
@vinuash Came here to ask this.
Was going to ignore this, until I realized I can use it on my motorcycle.
/giphy sold!

So where do you find these things that the internet has never heard of???
@Kidsandliz ol Jibbles from behind the Costco. Great deals if you know the password.
@Kidsandliz I usually look on the Internet.
@Some_meh I couldn’t find it did you?
Will it actually hold a charge for 8 months before I remember it?
@actionPacked from my experience with similar lithium starters, yes.

@actionPacked my Anker batteries hold power for months
@actionPacked @djslack You have to jump start your MIL? Mine seems to start up fine (whether I want her to or not).
@actionPacked Set a reminder on your phone to check it every X amount of months.
@phendrick she has had ticker troubles…
FYI, there’s also this:
for $39- same item colors and all
In on Meh for 2…

@PhysAssist what a coincidence…

@mensachick What model was that? I bought the energizer one from here several years ago. Haven’t used it yet although it stays charged for ages.
@JJfezz Yeah, same here, worked once. When I needed it to work for my ATV, it was dead. Would not even receive a charge. Threw it away. Literal crap.

@RICHY531 I couldn’t find this anywhere as I always look at the reviews too.

Jumper cables are cheaper, and not sketchy like this is…
@robson Sketchy how?
@mikeureko read comment below, it’s probably a cheaply made piece of crap. I’ve had bad experiences with battery packs purchased on meh, won’t buy here again for power packs.
@robson Except cables require another vehicle which isn’t always an option.
Decent power…

@kabijj Sorry, this deal contains 5 unique items and I’m not sure which one you want. You can review how to pick one, or just try ordering from the checkout page.
So $33 ? Worth it or spend a bit more for something reliable? What’s ur guys take?
@myi Buy one of the sealed lead acid battery types, bigger (carry in trunk very safe)but very reliable.
@JJfezz @myi - I’ve had a Stanley 1000-amp lead-acid jumper-air compressor for more than a decade - it’s a pain to haul around, and I’ve used the compressor more than the jumper, but it’s been a big help to me and other people. Meh, cheap cheap cheap
Can’t find any on Amazon that show CCA, a real rating. Amazon only shows “Peak A”, a marketing rating.

this seems more comparable and at $35.

Manufacturer’s website does not load (ptginternational.com); only review sites found look like fake sites created by advertisers…pass.
I just used this for my car, successfully! Even if it never works again, it saved my butt twice in one week. Now I have a new car battery.
For $2 more, Amazon has a slightly better (12,800mAh, 800A) model by BEATIT available today with 24 month warranty
$35 model at amazon
Yup. Couldnt jump start a 6 cyl. Had to pull out the trusty cables.
This comes in handy. A great buy!
it started my vehicle once, now it wont charge. piece of shit
