Unless you’re looking for this specific tumbler, the Walmart Ozark Trail stainless steel tumblers work as well as other well known brands. They occasionally go on sale as well.

@narfcake Unless you really need that extra gear a 1x10 probably would have been cheaper. My urban assault MTB was built with the 1x10 that came off my FS fatbike when it upgraded to 1x11.

Another bike may be going from a 3x7 to a 3x9. $66 into that so far, including the rear wheel (because freewheel), cassette, chain, and shifters. All I’m missing is a SRAM RD; the existing crankset and FD will remain.
Or it may just inherit the 14-34 f/w that came off another bike. I’m not fond of that 24-34 jump that Shimano does, though.

The reason why 11 even came into play was because I picked up an 11-42 for under $12. Amazon’s search still sucks, and their variable pricing is equally a PITA – except when one lucks out and catches the item at the cheap price.

Okay, maybe plastic/BPA. But how much liquids do you really drink, in a day? And what’s your relative exposure to any possible harmful substances in the plastic ones? Sheesh, I guess I’m old, because I don’t worry that much about exposure to odd off-the-wall substances from plastic containers anymore. But $7 cups seems extremely overpriced to me. Especially since they can’t go in the dishwasher. Hmmphh.
@cbl_wv the stainless doesn’t sweat like a plastic cup. I don’t have these but have a couple other vacuum stainless steel cups. Keeps ice in my cup longer. Also does a good job of keeping my coffee warm. We actually thinned out most of our plastic cups. I guess for me it’s all about the insulation properties.
@cbl_wv@dnh127 A good quality double walled plastic cup insulates really well too and doesn’t sweat- I love Tervis cups. But they’re way more expensive than these.
“Dishwasher safe” is the important factor in this purchase. We have several steel & plastic travel tumblers from Starbucks & other brands (Ozark Trails) that are all hyped up but have to be hand washed! Come on! Who has time to stand around & hand wash a bunch of stuff?!

Just got these; make a nice ML King Day present to two couples (a pair each), who ride their bikes to our local Farmers Market every weekend. They’re all in their 80s- they’ll love 'em!
Are the cups themselves NOT dishwasher safe? It’s stainless steel, not something delicate. Unless the vacuum insulation is so weak that being heated to dishwasher temperatures would compromise it (which seems unlikely considering that they’re meant to hold hot drinks), I don’t see how the dishwasher would damage the cup but not the lid.
Unless of course the dishwasher would strip that logo off, but that’s a plus in my book.
@lljk From what I’ve heard the dishwasher wears off the coating and then you can get a weird metalic taste and expose the seam, allowing water to get between the walls of the tumbler.
I am doubtful of the “room temperature FOREVER” claim - if I put my room temperature cup of water in the fridge (you know, the cupboard with the batteries) I bet it wouldn’t be room temperature even 24 hours later.
Now you might say “ah, but it is the temperature of the ‘room’ it’s in, that is the fridge”, but if we accept that a fridge is a room, which I don’t, but just for the sake of argument, in that case it didn’t even remain room temperature for minutes, it stopped being room temperature the instant it went into a different ‘room’ with a different temperature!
As such I pre-emptively demand a refund. Thanks, that was quick service!
These are great cups at a great price, but they all sit unlevel because all four were delivered in an envelope (yes…one single envelope…four stainless steel mugs) and all four have dents in the side. It’s not the worst thing in the world, of course, but surely you guys can do better than that…
@nolrak Those things had to be sitting in a warehouse for a loooooong time. That sticky gunk, besides being tremendously sticky, had the appearance of the Mummy from, ummm, The Mummy.
After 104 orders, this is the only one I regret. These tumblers are almost useless. If they were to “tumble” over, they spill everywhere. The tops do not seal and leak all over the place.

I customize tumblers and this is a pretty good deal… $5 and $7 each blank, and I’ll turn around and customize them them for $35 and $45 each. Yes sir, I’ll get a bunch. Interesting shape these have. Should sell well.
@Pamtha it might come off with acetone. But most times, I’m spray painting them with a white primer to start. Then doing something like glitter. Everything is sealed in multiple layers of epoxy. It’ll hide any logos or branding.
Would one of these mugs filled with coffee leak all over the inside of my gym bag? It is a bit irritating to find my underwear soaked in coffee when arriving at the gym.

Did anyone figure out how to remove the logo? I tried 91% rubbing alcohol, but it did nothing.
I ended up tossing these. They made everything I put in them have a foul aftertaste.
