There’s a huge demand by the public wanting to ship pasta to other people.
These people are wondering how to buy online noodles (uncooked I assume) and send it to someone else, and there’s no other large company selling all the damn noodles you want and they ship anywhere.
These other people are sitting at home hoping and wishing for someone to send them pasta, which is obviously very difficult to purchase in any grocery store.
@daveinwarsh Some people may find it entertaining at first but I’d imagine most of us will reach the limit of how many noodles we can store or want to buy (or buy for others) - well unless we are of the group that stocks up on a year or more of food at a time.
And on the other site (too lazy to look to confirm my memory is right on these statements) I think someone said something about buying and having them shipped to food banks. Apparently the source of this stuff is suppliers for restaurants and meh is donating to some food bank organization as we buy this stuff.

Unfortunately, the food banks can’t deal with a large oversupply of pasta. They’re putting together balanced meal boxes for families (i.e. pallets of pasta with no sauce doesn’t really help people.)
The best thing you can do for a food bank is to give money directly.
They can buy the exact “missing” items they need to fill the nutritional gaps in the donations (like sauce for all the noodles they get from PastaDrop and other well-intentioned folks). They can pay staff.
If in doubt, ask the food banks directly what they need. Fuel for the forklifts, maintenance, electricity, A/C and heating, etc. - those are not costs they can barter over with pasta.
Its also why Walmart screws over even the needy while milking the taxpayers by donating pallets of water and sodas because the tax break is based on weight of the bulk donations, so Walmart donates the heaviest items (water) that cost the least, and have little nutritional value for the triple dip most benefit to Walmart while giving the least to the needy, the taxpayers, and the food bank who have to schlepp all that heavy water-weight items to families. The same goes for people who give their expired canned goods during donation drives.
Give money. You do more good with a dollar than you can with an item that the food bank now has to get rid of, because you decided what they needed instead of asking or giving money.
It’s a noble sentiment, but unloading empty carbs onto the food-poor families is partly what turned us into the overweight diabetes and heart-disease riddled nation we are today.
And while it makes everyond feel good, we dhould remember that this is entirely solvable by those with more resources than they could possibly use demanding with their political “free speech” dollars funneled into the pockets and re-election campaigns of politicians (I’m looking at you, Moscow Mitch and the Republicans) that voted for the 10 Trillion taxpayer giveaway to the 1% who now bitch about how to fund basic health, safety, snd welfare of the rest of the citizenry.
So I guess from this thread that Mediocre is launching another website. I don’t get (don’t read (don’t want)) the e-mails so the forum is the only way I would have found out about it.
So I have questions that were probably answered in said e-mail. So I suppose that it will be selling pasta? Will there be custom meh pasta?
@tinamarie1974 The big question will be - how many pounds in a box. I know a lot of commercial boxes are 20 pounds each. If they get 100 pounds of pasta… um… can you run fast enough?
It COULD be a parent/child issue. Like one tracking number is listed as the master for the whole shipment, however each box has its own tracking number that references back.

Actually I with an irk order I found tracking information retroactively changed removing stops, removing much of the roaming around the country (although not the time doing it)… so it’s probably a crap shoot which is actually correct (one box or 5).
Some of our staff said it was a bad idea to be still building the site while you launch the site but we often don’t listen to irrelevant banter.
