And from what I recall, one of the bars near my college had a Sunday night special for $0.25 8oz pours of Miller High Life Light. Two pints of even cheap beer for a buck was pretty wild! (I actually only went to that twice - it was definitely a weird vibe in there Sunday nights)
If we set the bar for “partying” based on what I do on the weekends, I suppose I do it on a Monday night occasionally. But if it implies hungover the next day, then I have never partied on a Monday, and its been over 30 years since I have partied at all.
i used to party every monday night. a friend of mine runs one of the longest running monday night club nights around these parts, i think they’re closing in on 25 years.
back then i went out almost every night of the week. on those mondays we’d close out the club at 1am, then race over to the other club that was open until 2am and close that out, then probably stand around smoking outside until 2:30. sometimes we’d even go back to the house and have people over, or go to someone else’s house. looking back i have no idea how i did it and also went to work every day. (at a regular office 9-5.)
now i go out on a friday or saturday once every 2-3 months and it’s a 48 hour hangover recovery period plus a week of not wanting to even leave the house.
i had a blast back then and met my best friends and my partner of 12 years, wouldn’t trade it for anything. but i was just perpetually drunk or hungover, fueled by drugs and alcohol. (and broke as a result.) pretty content to have that chapter of my life closed, surviving only as some good stories and fond memories.
I work retail so Monday doesn’t really mean anything. I’m off tomorrow so this is like a Friday, I guess.
I’ve only been “hungover” once at work. I’m not even sure if I should call it being hungover because I didn’t even get drunk. I had a few drinks and ended up feeling miserable for the first six hours of my shift. I can’t imagine living life like that.
I try to avoid Monday nights out as it’s usually “industry night” meaning that I end up drinking with some of my favorite bartender/cook/chef friends. I’m a high school teacher so I just can’t keep up with that crowd anymore.
Unless it’s summer. By the 2nd week of summer, I generally have no idea what time or day of the week it is for at least a solid month.
@ZeroCharisma yeah. I don’t really party. Last time I hung out with people that were drinking, I had water. I can have a good time without alcohol.

Monday is Lundi Gras, so no partying. Mostly prepping for Fat Tuesday.
Still on a liquid diet, though.
