@Pufferfishy yep, and equally ugly, too! This is beyond Meh, all the way to Ick. (Just thinking what I’d say to anyone over the age of, say 6 y.o. who gave this to me for any reason, and can’t avoid an obscenity. Heh.)
In fact - the pieces I got off eBay were, in some cases, BETTER.
I was hoping for a cheap source of inlay materials but the “color” on these barely penetrates the surface (as opposed to being saturated in the material)
@Pufferfishy That’s a 16" strand (which also happens to look like really crappy quality) while the one here is 45". I’ll keep repeating myself - No, they’re not. At least until you find me a comparable 45" strand for your suggested $3.
On the main page you can scroll through the pictures and see the various options.
In addition, you can match them up with the smaller pictures which can be seen when checking out. When selecting a color options, it will show a small picture of what that option looks like.
I have the ivory and blue versions; they work well with casual v- or scoop-neck tops.
Would I pay anywhere near ‘sticker’ price for them? Heck no. They are great as summer-beachy accessories, not fine jewelry.
…Does that really say “rull noys” or is something wrong with my phone? Because google says that’s Catalan–but only after I forced it to actually search for “rull noys” instead of what it thinks I meant (“full boys”).
…and now I’m now wondering if this was all just a clever ploy to get me put on some sort of list.
Dunno, I’ve always liked the cool opalescent shine and the gf wants the blue, so what I’m basically saying is screw all of you that are putting these down…
Have a few strands of the natural color and I when I wear them I do get plenty of compliments. I like to wear them layered with other strands of pearls of various lengths.
@Kidsandiz. I am aware that they are dyed mother of pearl (although I have the “natural” color). I still layer them with my real, undyed, just like they came from the oyster shell pearls and they blend nicely. Lots of different gauges of sizes, shapes & strand lengths but all the same color. Quite lovely.
I guess I could choose bright & facetted chunks of plastic or glass entombed in gold/silver-like metal and be much fancier but I like this look.

Obligatory pearl necklace joke.
I couldn’t press that meh button fast enough. Goodnight.
Still not sure what a penguin is supposed to do with pearls.
@PlacidPenguin Tiny anal beads?
@PlacidPenguin Buy the blue ones and mark your territory in the snow for your nest.
@yakkoTDI
Cough
@Kidsandliz
As tempted as I am to spend $27.10 just to bury these…
@PlacidPenguin Didn’t you mean that as a second reply to @yakkoTDI ?
@Limewater
No.
Pearls mother Meh-be wants a mother of pearl necklace —
Made of genuine mother?
Another pearl mehklace…
More pearl crap? No, no, no.
Finally, a realistic model for these pearls. Now, you need a good joke picture. Wait, what?
@hchavers too bad all the models are photoshopped… Well, maybe not the last one.
On eBay for like $3 a strand.

@Pufferfishy Umm… No, they’re not.
@cinoclav um - yes they are - as I have bought both and held them in my hands.

Aw crap, where’d you get my picture for the last product photo?
Take them off the cord, use them for tiddly-winks! UGLY tiddly-winks. And still overpriced at a couple of bucks per strand. These are truly dreadful.
I See seven product numbers, no colors, no color photos and no description. Will skip this.

@afurball I think they’re pretty.
What the hell is Mother of Pearl?
@MrMikenIkes The inner layer of the shell of some mollusks.
By law you should write “Serving suggestion” in fine print at the bottom of each of these pictures. Mmmmmm. Neck Skittles.

@JaLeDu These aren’t the pearls though. These are dyed mother of pearl flat disks.

@JaLeDu I thought you were talking about layering different strands of pearls rather than mixing these flat disks (today’s sale) and pearls.
They look like candy.
