Couldn’t care less about the jewelry, but I’d like you to send me that insanely hot redhead please. Don’t use Pitney Bowes, I’d like her to arrive alive.
I’ve got more freshwater pearls in my workroom than I want to admit, and I remember how much we paid per strand at the gem show. Those metallized and plated leaves would be the higher cost components. And for those unfamiliar, “gold filled” is a level of plating heavier than electroplate but not as thick as vermeil. In this case, since the base metal isn’t specified, you know that the very thin layer of precious metal is definitely not over sterling silver. The price here is not bad, but a supplier with cheap enough labor could still turn a prifit at this level.
@werehatrack For reference, in high school we plated a nickel in gold to a level 2-4 times thicker than “gold filled”, and calculated the cost of the gold and it turned out to be less than 2¢ of gold.
For those paying attention in chemistry class, voltage applied for a period of time can calculate the number of gold atoms (ions in solution) deposited, which can be converted into mass (grams), and then converted into currency with the exchange rate. That’s what that avocado guy discovered and quantized…
@awk But this you can get without leaving the butt imprint in the couch. You could probably have it shipped directly to your mom so you can avoid picking it up off the doorstep and also not see the disappointment in her face when she opens it.
Bought 3. I asked for all 3 to be with a banana palm leaf. the gold alone should be close to $14,000ea. SCORE!! I’ll melt those fkrs down and off to the “we buy gold” store!!
A leaf attached to a rose says “I love you”. A leaf by itself says “Here, I thought of you when I was bending over.”
@hchavers It actually means “at leaf I actually was thinking of you?” Very famous Chinese Love Leaf from the Ding Ping Pow dynasty.
@bugger I’m stealing that.

@cinoclav and early.
Breakfast in bed May 9 will be a day late…Mother’s Day is the 8th.
@cbilyak They don’t call this Meh.com for nuthin’!
@Carebear @cbilyak May 9th must be the “Official Pitney Bowes Mother’s Day of Observance”
As a mom, I gotta say that in my opinion, these are hideous.
@LaserEyes Don’t worry. They’ll be over on StellaCarmina.com after tomorrow for $10 more. So snap these up before they’re gone!
@LaserEyes as an actual husband, I agree. Yikes.

More jewelry?
Got these during an X-mas Mehrathon. 2 pair, no sheen really. Looks like a booger more than a flat pearl.
Super Meh.
@PHRoG Would your boogers make your mom nostalgic?
More deals? What happened to yesterday’s deal? What is this? Who am I?
Might be nicer with a smaller leaf. The one in the pic looks rather biggish.
@heartny So, you’re saying … size matters?
@heartny @mike808 More specifically, there is such a thing as too much.
There’s leaves outside, and they’re free.

@awk
I guess that beats the “outside leaves” from my yard, most likely dipped in dog pee (and maybe also some squirrel’s)…

OBTW, as of last I checked, most freshwater pearls came from Tennessee, and the Pacific was still salt water.

Terrible ugly purchase. Very disappointed. C’est la vie.
