@jst1ofknd since it takes about 60 seconds to “install” I’m not sure why you would buy one and not immediately “install” it. Sorry I have trouble calling screwing in a light bulb. Er I mean shower head. An “install”
Someone mentioned it in the product thread, staff awarded them with freebies, and the rest is mediocre history.
Epilogue:
I don’t believe bath ever again resulted in free stuff.
Except maybe that time @BillLeheka submitted an image of himself in a tub filled with BuiltNY cases.
Bought one of these last time to surprise Wife.
She loves is, loves it, loves it!
Easy to install, decent instructions (read AND followed) and have had no problems with it.
Not saying the price is the best, but she is happy with the product.
Bought two the last time. Easy install - no 10mm socket required. Flow restrictor comes out easily. Even the thread tape is included. Yes, lots of plastic. BUT, no more than the turn of the century Moen and Waterpic that these heads replaced.
@clonetek@Knightp That’s right, model 5542 (with the smaller head) is $29.99 at Amazon, but model 5545 (the one being sold here) is $79.99. So maybe not such a bad deal.
I’m torn, as I just got a somewhat similar shower head a couple weeks ago that I haven’t gotten around to installing yet, so do I want to have two new shower heads that I won’t get around to installing?
@clonetek@Stallion These reviews are largely faked. Run it through fakespot.com and it gets an adjusted rating of 1/2 star. This is all too common on Amazon.
Are these fixtures metal or plastic?
I’ve bought ones before where the stated finish was chrome, when it was actually just a shiny sticker like coating over plastic.
“Chrome plating (less commonly chromium plating), often referred to simply as chrome, is a technique of electroplating a thin layer of chromium onto a metal object. The chromed layer can be decorative, provide corrosion resistance, ease cleaning procedures, or increase surface hardness.”
@Nyc_Tattoo I’m not sure even the fancy ones are metal. Purchased a really nice one a year or so ago because it said metal. Turned out only the exterior was and internally still plastic that eventually leaks. If you find a solid metal one let me know.
Yeah, So the wife and kids can spray the shit out of the ceiling, bathroom floor and walls?? Nope. single low-flow
shower head…get in, get out! no draining the hot water tank!
Bought one the last time and am pretty happy with it - turns out it’s great for my wife’s allodynia, so in for another (hey, we can’t shower together every morning).
@Kenbo There are many adhesive or suction cup wand holder mounts that could buy and put in there so she could reach it.
Bonus: You could use it mounted lower to wash your nethers too.
This comment in an Amazon review drove me to “meh” on this one: The only downside is that the ball joint, which controls the angle of the shower head, is basically worthless. Tightened all the way (just by hand, per the instructions), it doesn’t limit movement of the joint. The weight of the shower head is enough to change the position of the ball joint.
I am pretty sure you need pretty good water pressure to enjoy one of these. Don’t think your mediocre apartment building water pressure will be enough. Luckily, I already have one of these types in my condo with enough pressure to peel paint off your walls.
@Cbear sorry there buddy, your video sucks. it’s way too long, you don’t show the shower head working, and the music sounds like your making a porn video.
Who here thinks that if I buy a second one of these that I will actually install the first one I bought the last time it was offered.
@jst1ofknd The one I bought back in August has been nicely sitting in its box since I received it, so no complaints.
@phendrick
I’m glad I’m not the only one.
@jst1ofknd Perfect trigger event. YES!
@jst1ofknd @phendrick nope. Same here.
@jst1ofknd since it takes about 60 seconds to “install” I’m not sure why you would buy one and not immediately “install” it. Sorry I have trouble calling screwing in a light bulb. Er I mean shower head. An “install”
These things are always a let down, but pop sockets are tested pride and true, never a disappointment just a pleasant surprise.
These will cause psychological harm. 48 choices is overwhelming in the morning.
Bath
@kdemo Yes!!!
History lesson:
Have you been wondering where the “bath” meme began?
Look no farther than this write-up from 2015.
Someone mentioned it in the product thread, staff awarded them with freebies, and the rest is mediocre history.
Epilogue:
I don’t believe bath ever again resulted in free stuff.

*further, not farther.

@JnKL I bought one too. It works great, no complaints.
“Two heads are best.” Zaphod Beeblebrox
So is Mehdiocre authorized?
@narfcake yup
Bought one before. It’s got nice pressure. Install was very easy. I really like it.

@Lighter @narfcake need downvote
Meh Showers — watered down price
It’s $29.99 on amazon… and sold by woot. lol
@clonetek You caught them red handed. Would much rather have it show up Amazon prime for the same price. Reviews are good, that’s cool.
NOTILUS Antimicrobial High-Pressure Luxury 3-in-1 Shower Spa Combo - 48 settings, 2-zone Antimicrobial Anti-Clog Nozzles, Antimicrobial Anti-Slip Grip, Stainless Steel Hose/All-Chrome Finish

@clonetek That’s for a slightly inferior version of it, with a 4.3" “Face” showerhead vs the 6" “Rainfall” showerhead.

@clonetek @Knightp @stolicat Amazon also has a 45% off coupon on this model. That takes $36 off the $80 price tag. $29 is still better than $44!
@clonetek @Knightp @lalala @stolicat but with amazon you get a return window if it sucks, for only $14 more might be worth it

@Nyc_Tattoo yeah at this price, I’d say there’s no way it’s metal.
Gosh, these musta been sitting in the warehouse for a while, huh? Or did another box fall off of a truck?
/giphy fall off of a truck
Bought this last time. Very happy with it.
Yeah, So the wife and kids can spray the shit out of the ceiling, bathroom floor and walls?? Nope. single low-flow

@Bumplepimp Killjoy.
@Bumplepimp Yeah but you don’t get the “bidet” function of a fixed shower head.
If your wife and kids are really that bad then maybe you need to send them to obedience school haha
Bought one the last time and am pretty happy with it - turns out it’s great for my wife’s allodynia, so in for another (hey, we can’t shower together every morning).
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
Also . . . .“Loofa Rrigno”. Well done.
@jrwofuga Same!
@llangley That’s a DGD.
@jrwofuga you said it!!!
Can I get a microban for saying “screw this crappy shit”?
In before all the “make it rain” memes get posted
I don’t know any celebrities but you can probably see this from the Bubble Telescope.

Bought this last time - works great. My wife has trouble reaching the, um, wand…because it’s…uh, she’s kind of short, so I have to…yeah.
From here, this post can head nowhere but downhill.
@Kenbo There are many adhesive or suction cup wand holder mounts that could buy and put in there so she could reach it.

48 settings too many to memorize. 9 would be better.

@MrNews sounds like they have extremely weak hands. Or don’t understand the term hand tight

how long is the hose, please?
@vreiner It’s 5 feet long
agile holy light
Even with tax and shipping, that’s less than 75 cents per setting, so …

Here is a review on YouTube. I’m pretty sure with the music, this could be considered shower review PrOn
@Cbear I think we can all agree if you put music on your review you should be ignored.
@Cbear sorry there buddy, your video sucks. it’s way too long, you don’t show the shower head working, and the music sounds like your making a porn video.
@robson its not my video. I just found it and thought it was quite funny
@Cbear Thanks for clearing that up! I would hate to think one of us made that video! My bad…
