@eonfifty@tinamarie1974 The asparagus pee is one of the best parts of eating asparagus.
I’ve never experienced it, but I’ve heard that if you eat enough beets at once, it will turn your urine red. I hope to experience that one day.
@eonfifty@tinamarie1974
I was at a STL Cardinals game at Busch stadium once and there was a poster over the urinal “trough” with Stewie and Brian from Family Guy. The tag line said “Alright… who ate asparagus?”
I couldn’t help but wonder how many guys looked at that sign and had NOT A CLUE what it was referring to!
@aetris@tinamarie1974 Actually. they probably would. I just don’t know all of them so can’t say positively. I watch a youtube gal in China that does a lot of cooking straight off the farm etc and it mostly looks good but some of what she’s cooking… I have no idea what it is let alone if I would like it (there’s little to no translation or talk for that matter). There are some fermented ones that I don’t think I would like.
All that I tried while in S. America I liked.
I had just decided when I made that post that if I said I liked ALL veggies, someone would throw out the name of something that I’d never heard of or is totally disgusting because… that’s how this place rocks!
@aetris@lseeber@tinamarie1974 yeah, that’s why when you go to the Dr they list NKDA (No Known Drug Allergies). Until you have tried them ALL you don’t know if you are allergic to them or not.
Same with foods, until you try it, you can only speculate…
@aetris@chienfou@tinamarie1974 Makes sense. Kinda like when someone says… I’ve done that all my life. How do you know you did unless you’re about to drop dead right then?
Carrots are great. I had to cut back on them, though, because they were turning me orange. This was when I was eating five pounds a week.
I eliminated them from my diet for a few weeks, then went to around two-to-three pounds a week and I haven’t had that problem again.
@Limewater I remember as a kid, I read about that. I was allergic to the sun and as pale as Casper. So, I tried to eat tons of carrots to turn orange in the summer. It didn’t work and my mom yelled at me for eating all the carrots, lol.
@lseeber Yeah, I ate five pounds a week for a couple of years straight to get where I was. I’m not sure how quickly you could do it if you really wanted to. I really wasn’t worried about being slightly orange so much as I worried about possible kidney or liver damage. It’s probably unlikely, but if I’m going to damage my liver I don’t want it to be with carrots.

@f00l too much celery
@f00l @tinamarie1974 I hate to admit it, but I agree with @f00l. I love V8. I don’t like celery, but celery in V8, doesn’t bother me.
@Barney @tinamarie1974
I’m a V8 addict.
I know I should do my own juicing, but I’m too lazy.
@f00l I have four cases stashed away in my storeroom and at least a dozen cans in my refrigerator. Am I an addict? Nah.
@Barney
You’re just shy.
/giphy careful now
@f00l You’re just weird as hell.
@Barney
I meant to say
"You’re just shy of being an a addict."
Blame the usual @f00lish idiocy.
Yes, exactly which veggies DO you like to eat?
@cinoclav uuummmmm lots of them.
Asparagus is pretty good, and except in rare cases, onions are gross.
/giphy onions are gross
@eonfifty asparagus, but I hear it makes some peoples pee smell funny?
@tinamarie1974
Yes, but only temporarily.

@eonfifty @Limewater see it doesn’t work on me. I have only heard!
@Limewater @tinamarie1974
I’ve never noticed any beety pee, but beets do darken
@eonfifty I’m the opposite. Absolutely hate asparagus and it’s weird flavor but I really like onions, especially sautéed.
@cinoclav @eonfifty onions are OK if they are cooked. Can’t do them raw
@cinoclav
I could do sauteed onions if they’re sauteed with a bunch of garlic.

I like just about all of them that I’ve ever had here in the US.
@lseeber - An intriguingly specific answer. So… foreign vegetables don’t make the cut?
@aetris @lseeber yeah, which foreign veggies are a no go or nova if you will lol
@aetris @tinamarie1974 Actually. they probably would. I just don’t know all of them so can’t say positively. @aetris WTF is THAT?
@aetris @tinamarie1974 Romanesco broccoli- please excuse me while I browse bored panda for an hour. Stupid reverse image search.

@aetris That looks almost too pretty to eat, but would probably be awesome roasted whole.
EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!
@TimACrow - I’ve never had any, but they say you can eat it raw.
@aetris @sammydog01 @tinamarie1974 I actually had some of that in France a few months back. It was rather mild but still delicious.
@aetris @sammydog01 @tinamarie1974 Knew I took a picture of it!
@aetris @cinoclav @sammydog01 @tinamarie1974 Those France people are so dumb, don’t they know nobody can read their menu?
@aetris @cinoclav @sammydog01 @therealjrn @tinamarie1974 The French don’t care.

Brassicas! Basically all evolved from the same plant.
@aetris @cinoclav @RiotDemon @sammydog01 @therealjrn I. HAD. NO. IDEA!!!
@aetris That was actually one of the things i saw her cooking in a video.
@aetris @chienfou @tinamarie1974 Makes sense. Kinda like when someone says… I’ve done that all my life. How do you know you did unless you’re about to drop dead right then?
@lseeber - her who?
@aetris The girl in China who’s vids I watch on youtube (mentioned in earlier post) Liziqi

@Limewater haha… understand that! Oh I only ate whatever mom had in the fridge at the time, lol. Thinking that would be enough. I was 12 or 13.

I like eating stir fry vegetables. And green beans. Not together though.
@therealjrn together or seperate. YUMMY!
I like all vegetables, and most are best when roasted in the oven.
I am a second generation vegetarian- I eat things that eat vegetables. Vegetarian is an old Native American word that means “lousy hunter.”
Just had some fresh-picked Northeastern beans. Delicious after 5 minutes in the Instant Pot with a splash of chicken stock. Delicious.
