44Oh shit, am I the first again? IRKs may be fulfilled LIFO as my Ink for IRKs order went in late Sunday night after the new ink club cutoff.
My wife alerted me to the presence of a biggish, not super light box on my porch on my lunch break. Excuse my not laying everything out, I was in a hurry.
The contents:
- Maroon IRK bag that I was jazzed about seeing others get last time, cool!
- Minx ladies cooling socks. I happen to know several ladies with feet so score!
- Incase 12" laptop sleeve. This may replace the Built NY polka dot sleeve from back in the day I use for my Chromebook due to its higher level of perceived professionalism.
- iFrogz Impulse Wireless fancy-looking white and tan “leather” on-ear headphones. Potential score or nice gift, to be investigated after work.
- Holy crap, a giant Cuisinart food processor in a slightly dented box! Megascore!
There is absolutely no regret in this box, Meh! Happy birthday anyway. Here’s to many more!

My IRK was waiting for me when I got home from work and the gym this evening.
That’s an unusual shape for an IRK. (The larger box. The small one was a Lightyear Socks mug from Disney Movie Rewards.)

All in all, a solid IRK. Some nice things that will get used. Some items filled with regret. Maybe a slight upgrade to go with the inflationized price.

Meh did it for me again! I work for a school so several things that the kids will love when I put them in the accelerated reader store. Except for the pillow. That 1 might have to stay with me!

Not disappointed that is for sure. Couple of throw in items plus an new unopened Easine H55 stick Vacuum.
The plot thickens. The box the vacuum came in had the words “REFUSED” written on the outside (see picture). Wanting to see if the vacuum had all the pieces, booklet and warranty card I opened up the box and low and behold there was another IRK bag inside plus a couple of throw in items.
Knowing that they sometimes put IRK items in the original boxes, the box in the picture was obviously sent to someone by mistake or the person didn’t recognize it as an IRK and refused to take delivery.
Too bad for them-more stuff for me. And a rare two bagger.

@psbales As of last night there are about 30 fewer TrackRs. I dissected my entire collection to remove the batteries. I was pleasantly surprised that only about a third of them were completely dead. Those will go in the battery recycling bin at work. The rest are in the “bag of random flat batteries” for when my heart rate monitor or garage door opener needs some fresh power. (Although, most likely, they’ll end up dead before they get used. Regardless their ultimate fate is the battery recycling bin at work.)

So here’s my story. I bought one of the free coupon Irks and it got lost in the warehouse. Then I managed to get another one at the next event. Wild right?
I realized the first one had never arrived but I did get the coupons. I asked customer service if they could find the first one. Well they thought it was gone forever so they sent me another one.

@bluebeatpete I was curious about that hair dryer. Can you let us know what your wife thinks?
@tinamarie1974 She said it was OK. The light weight is nice. It’s not super powerful, but powerful enough. The diffuser got pretty hot when using. It’s not terribly loud, but the noise has a higher pitch than our other one - which I find annoying.
Because everything has to have LEDs in it, there are blue lights inside the barrel if you look into it while drying.

That description is perfect - I bought one (not even purple, either) and was kind of disappointed in it. It might be good for travel, because it’s light, as you say, but I think I’ve been spoiled by my great Chi Air dryer I got at Marshall’s several years ago.

@LexPendragon his face looks similar to mine (im just guessing her breed mix), but mine has all white hair, has the facial look and the slightly wirery hair like a yorkie and is on the smaller side at 5 lbs (after eating). and an attitude, thought that may just be her and not something to blame her breed on

After being hung up a bit…having a delivery date, then pending, then finally a firm date (today), I got it. Nice stuff, I have a friend who might want the jacket, if it doesn’t work out it will go to the student free store. Jackets are ALWAYS welcome there, being we are in Northern Minnesota and have a lot of students coming from other countries, many of them warm.
So, the jacket is nice, the heat pack is, LOVE the meh socks, bamboo cat toy made me think of those finger traps I had as a kid, and the knee compression wrap, hmmm, don’t think we need that but you know, the moment we donate it…

Little regret. I’ve got to travel in a few weeks so extra masks are good. The jacket is tight in the shoulders/arms. So I can either workout (meh) or donate the jacket. My daughter and her boyfriend are going to try the swiftfinder app with the trackers so they stop loosing their keys, vapes and wallets. Maroon bag is beautiful, I’ve put some IRK bags in my car for shopping, but always forget to take them into the store with me. One of these days I will remember. Halo bag went in the trash, coin purse was set aside.
Mine arrived today. My girlfriend and I keep joking that the Irks are really for her, and this time is no different. Other than also getting one of the most seriously weird, random items ever.

1 box 20 Kn95 masks expired 9/4/21 (a year after manufacture, although research says, presuming they are stored correctly, they don’t expire - they tested 10 year old N95’s and concern was the elastic would break down and you need it for tight fit which with KN95’s you won’t have anyway) but not using those as I need good ones where I know the actual filtration since I have a blood cancer
1 box 30 blue trackers - who was it on here that wanted them? (I have more than these too) You can have them for postage. The replacement app though only works on androids.
1 mug that I understand from earlier posts on this thread that the lid leaks early and easily.

I like those mug/cup things and I hadn’t seen that about it leaking. I must have gotten a non leaker, mines held up well so far! I don’t remember who wanted the trackR, thought it was for either poker chips or a mosaic!
My box arrived! Delivered by my neighbor and not FEDEX who screwed it up. And though it wasn’t included I am now in search of a doorbell cam and will be making a much bigger sign with our street address so they can’t miss it for future IRKS.

Mine arrived today after disappearing off of FedEx’s radar for 4 days. Had a moment of hope because the box was good-sized, but when I picked it up, it weighed very little.

Well…my first IRK acquired by getting inked has arrived. It was regretful from the start. It arrived in a big box, giving the illusion of something grand. I almost fell over when I picked it up because it was as light as a feather. This large box contained the following, almost weightless items:

Happy Birthday anyway, Meh! I am still happy with my flask tattoo, and my cat will be happy with the large box when he wakes up from his nap.
After all these amazing IRKs, I thought maybe meh was losing its touch in making regrettable kits. Fortunately, my kit was mostly regrettable, but still fun to play. Good job Meh!

Last year they had the super hero socks for sale, 13 packs (5 pair per pack) for a total of 65 pair for $13. 20 cents per pair. I ordered several 13 packs but was only sent half what I ordered - customer service refunded me 1/2 because they supposedly did not have any to send my missing portion
looks like they were just hiding.
Anyway, I separated the packs and wrapped individual pairs with ribbon. On Halloween I gave kids the option of superhero socks or candy - those socks flew out of my hands, they were a HUGE hit!

Tricked by the 15 pound weight. Turns out I got a plastic bag full of 1600 hand sanitizing wet wipes - on a spool with nothing to keep the moisture in. I also got a 3-pack of women’s socks and a pack of the no show sock things for women. And another pair of ifrogz bluetooth headphones. A true IRK experience…the (slight) disappointment here will make the next winning IRK that much sweeter.
@iamdmann Roll of handwipes fit in a 2.5 gallon ziplock just barely. Or unroll half and split between two ziplocks. I sold the one I got a year or so ago for $15 and it was someone else’s problem.

From what I can tell, the TrackR company shut down last year so the TrackRs are essentially just batteries. All of this will be either getting trashed or handed out (minus the irk bag, they’re pretty handy).

Ewwwww…Im in Pennsylvania, can you smell the crappy IRK I got. It’s funny how these things go. Previous to the birthday IRK I bought one of those boxes for 90 bucks and I got the coupons but in that box there was a $400 video projector and a set of wireless earbuds and a power bank and a couple of others, but today I got my birthday box. And I will truly say being disappointed is an understatement! And I’m happy about it. I got six pair of smiley face socks, six universal car chargers and a pair of dinosaur Crocs and a leopard skin power bank and a purple IRK bag. Now I will say that’s not even worth the 10 bucks! But you know what, I love this place, I’ve been a VMP since day one and I was part of the kickstarter team too. Keep it coming!

Honestly really disappointed in this, its one thing to get useless items but to get so many repeated useless items makes it feel even worse. To anyone who got a pair of clawz and doesn’t want them…feel free to message me if you want to get rid of them (I’ll happily pay for postage and a coffee for your trouble). I’m looking for large sizes (sadly, not for me…as far as I can tell they never made them in mens 14). I maxed out my purchase ability on morningsave and sidedeal and meh every time they were available…especially when they were like $2/pair. My irk arrives today…15 pounds, 20x16x10. Hoping it isn’t the last remaining linguini pasta drop. My GF is getting hers today as well…1 pound 7x7x7 - just different enough to the placeholder dimensions that I’m worried it could be 40 trackrs, maybe a toothbrush coin, and some loose ‘Travelocity’ branded usb car chargers (I got 23 of those in an irk a few months ago).

I’m curious to know what you are doing (or want to do) with all of the claws you’re looking to get?
I thought it would be neat to do some sort of plant wall. Hang them outside on a fence or wall and use them as planters, they’ve already got the back strap to hang from and then there’s the drainage holes too. I think it’s perfect, especially if you have little kids, you could do a whole Jurassic scene!

My IRK spent an extra week in transit and I’m home and happily waiting for it. Get a notification it was delivered to the front door… nope. Nothing. Hate fed ex. They really need to have to take proof of delivery pics like Amazon. Now I need to invest in a doorbell cam for next time to prove no truck even drove by. Anyone else ever get delivered notifications for it to show up days later? Hoping it magically appears I so need a tracker to hide on the fed ex track to prove the lies! LIES! K. Rant over.

A few months ago I ordered something for my niece, I got the notification that it’s been delivered. When I called to make sure she found it (they said it was left in or near the garage) she told me nothing had been delivered. She’s got a equestrian center and she’s usually there working all day. Also, she frequently gets packages delivered there, unlike me, she wasn’t surprised or upset that the package wasn’t delivered like my notification said. Very calmly she just said to me “it will show up, most likely tomorrow”. She was right, showed up first thing in the morning!
I agree with the picture confirmation of delivery and I think that EVERY delivery service should have it!
now that my birthday irk has moved on from Olathe and its journey seems to be coming to an end soon, I have a quick question on an item I got in one of the irkathon irks. Has anyone had issues with the heated jacket? I’ve tried multiple battery packs and haven’t had luck. When I plug the jacket into the battery the button flashes, so at least part of it works. Any ideas? In the alternative, feel free to yell at me for going off topic (but it’s because of an irk) in a reveal thread.

@Stumpy91 That may mean that it was on a trailer headed north from the DFW depot, and the truck had a breakdown. If so, there’s probably a 24-hour delay going to happen here. None of the big parcel delivery companies has a hub in Paul’s Valley, that much I can tell you.
I’m beginning to suspect that FedEx Ground may have been engaging in a bit too much maintenance schedule stretching lately, because I’ve seen more than the usual number of their trucks by the side of the road either getting a tire replaced or getting hooked up to a wrecker lately.
@ironcheftoni @Stumpy91 There’s the toy and action figure museum in Paul’s Valley. It’s not much, but it’s a fun little stop. I have friends who stop there every year on a family trip. They wear matching shirts and take a family picture there. It’s adorably cute (and awesome that their now teenage daughters are still into it).

Sadly, the number of fires in parcel delivery company trucks remains above average because of the continuing problem with random lithium battery fires. It’s down a bunch from the high point during the hoverboard craze, but they’re still happening.
@andrewkl @werehatrack or it could be related to a number of supply chain issues FedEx is facing since Covid.
They are dealing with pilot shortages, then when there is a covid outbreak it is crippling. This actually happened in Q1 this year and FedEx temp cancelled a number of international routes ex the US.
Domestically they are still struggling to handle the influx of volume from societys shift to web based purchases.
In addditon there is a driver shortage. Throw on top of that the customer related cuts UPS has made in the last six or so months due to changes the new CEO (I call her Aunt Carol) has made. Guess where these shippers went if UPS cut them, oh to FEDEX!
Oh and don’t forget that the US govt calls on Ole Uncle Fred and Aunt Carol to help when they have supply chain challenges. You know, like distribution of the vaccine to any number of Dr’s offices, pharmacies, health depts, etc. Not to mention other emergency situations like the baby formula fiasco, etc. All of that “patriotism” lowers total allocation available for Joe Shipper.
FedEx on time performance has droopped from around 95 to 98% to a low of under 50% in Q1 this year. They have recovered slightly, but I’ve not personally seen performance greater than say 70-75% on a gross performance basis.
But that is just my 2 cents based upon my discussions with the carrier based upon their performance shortfalls.
@andrewkl @tinamarie1974 CRST has a freight yard in Pauls Valley, so if FXG subbed a load out to them, and CRST was running short on drivers, the trailer might be sitting there waiting to get moved on to Olathe - which is probably where it was headed.
@andrewkl @werehatrack that would make it an out of delivery area shipment, but since FedEx has a hub in Olathe that would not be the case.
I’m going to guess it has to do with the infrastructure issues I mentioned above. I didnt get into the challenges they are facing at the hub level. Increased volume and a not so stable workforce. Like any other industry it is increasingly difficult to attract and retain talent.
Also, I was curious about your claim regarding the lithium battery fires at FedEx so I took a few minutes and checked the FAA web site. Fed Ex only allows lithium to move via their Express option that runs under IATA regulations.
When I checked the FAA data there have only been 354 reported incidents since 1/23/2006 for all airlines, not just FedEx. The report is for events with smoke, fire, extreme heat or explosion. So fires are a small subset.
Anyway hopefully everyone gets their packages sooner rather than later.
