I bought the Envoy a few weeks ago from MorningSave for $65 (plus $5 shipping) and I love it.
The key to these watches is to download the firmware update and to download the “mVoice” app and not the “notifier” app that the instructions tell you to download.
Watch does everything I need, can’t recommend it enough, plus I love the second hand.
@tartanknickers my ten year battery in my Casio is why I have a bunch of smart watches and fitness trackers just sitting in drawers, while the actual watch gets worn every day, almost never coming off until the band starts to smell horrific.

Looks like from the review comments on Amazon you will have to go to their website and download a firmware update. The company is replying to amazon reviews but apparently have no phone support - only email (hmm like another company well all know )
After the Olio watch fiasco I would never buy any sort of smart watch from meh again. Unfortunately I bought the Olio too, like flushing money down the toilet. Never worked!
Both of my brothers and I have the base Martian Notifiers that we paid about $40 for, and are very happy with them. I bought one of the mVoice watches when it went on sale from $295 to $109, and it’s all right, but absolutely not worth the original price.
The watch battery is separate from the smart functions battery, so it’s still a watch if you don’t keep it charged. Firmware update wasn’t too difficult to do.
My only complaint is that I have no use for the voice function on the mvoice, and they took away the option to disable it with the iPhone. I have to turn it off when I get into my sync equipped Ford, otherwise it won’t connect to the car’s bluetooth. The notifier does not have that issue.

What turned me off this one is that apparently the phone becomes a headset for the voice stuff to work, so phone calls go through it until you disconnect it. That doesn’t sound useful.
@jeffreywsnyder The issue was that my phone won’t connect to the Ford Sync system if the phone is currently connected to the mvoice watch, so I have to turn off the watch while driving. That’s not an issue with the Martian Notifier. (Turning the watch off and on is easier for me than going into bluetooth settings to disconnect and reconnect)
I’ve had their Notifier model for 2+years and it still works perfectly. Still gets 3-4 days easy on a charge. It’s just the amount of smart I need on my wrist. That said I paid less than 30 bucks for it here back then, hard to pay 2x that price for these today that minus their Dick Tracy-ness have the same functionality.
Meh to the last batch of smart watches, Meh to this batch of smart watches, Meh to all batches of smart watches.
It’s the Meh trifecta and I just scored a hat trick of 3 days where Meh didn’t get my money. You’ll have to try harder next time Meh.
@bleedmichigan Why wear a watch at all, when I have a cell, tablet, Kindle, desktop telephone and computer, and pager all with the time on them and automatically updated by the networks- I haven’t worn a watch in >14 years, and I’m not likely to start again now.
I’m not feeling safe about the software looks like the manufacturers are giving up also, hence here it is , However that being said the Youtube videos are good if all the connections work .would like to hear more from the Meh-heads on this product. ty
All right, I can’t resist trying this type of toy out anymore. Less than sixty bucks, the Alpha looks all right, I’ll bite. If nothing else, I get a decent looking watch.
@Dizavid I’ve splashed mine a number of times washing hands and doing dishes with no ill effect, but I am careful not to submerge it. Between the mic and speaker openings and the charge port I’m sure it wouldn’t survive many dunks.

The issue my son had with an earlier iteration of the Martian watch was with the fact it uses a proprietary micro usb connector (it’s longer) and the port was covered with a flap that does not properly prevent moisture from seeping in. Eventually salty sweat eats away the innards & the USB port will break.
I received mine today and the time keeping battery is dead, so that’s a bit of a disappointment. I hope Batteries Plus can replace it.
On another note, the instructions say to download the blue Martian alerts app which is not in the Apple app store, but it seems to be working fine with the mvoice app.
It makes me wonder when these were made, and why the battery drained. The knob is supposed to he pulled out from the factory to keep that from happening but I didn’t pay attention if it was or not.
I am not very confident that Batteries Plus will do it since it looks like you have to remove the mother board to get to it. Hopefully there will be some recourse if not.
@mattsal23 got the same response. I submitted a ticket but their website says that the warrenty doesn’t replace batteries, so I’m not sure they’ll do anything about it. I can’t even test myself if the battery is the issue because replacing the battery voids the warrenty.
I quit buying from Woot due to their return policy after receiving several items with issues, so I made sure to check Meh’s before ordering this time-
"Q: What’s your return policy?
A: If it’s damaged, defective, or just DOA, we’ll either refund or replace it at our discretion. Just fill out our support form and tell us all about it."
Seems like they need to update that if they aren’t going to honor it, and I sure hope they step up if Martian doesn’t take care of this.
@mattsal23 my understanding is that Meh will honor their return policy failing a resolution under the warranty. Your first resort is the contact listed for warranty support.

@dave I am very happy with this purchase. Alexa works fine after firmware update. Watch does everything that was promised. Mine isn’t even overly ugly.

@HaruhiSuzumiya@mfladd I got mine back from Martian yesterday with a new battery. Took a few days longer than the 3-5 day turn around time they promised, but at least they took care of it.
I sent it in the original packaging since I didn’t know if they would fix or replace, and it came back without the instructions/warranty card papers that were in the box, kind of annoying since it was no longer paired and I had to google the instructions.
I like how the all black one tells me that Jack Daniels is calling. As if I needed a smart watch to tell me that.

Olio closed their servers in the summer, so any new attempts to pair the watch to a phone would fail.
On the bright side, Martian is still relevent.

@craigthom The first call went through the watch, but my iphone seems to have remembered my preference and call audio defaults to the phone now.

@mattsal23 My batteries plus didn’t replace it. They said that the battery was firing, but the second hand was stuck.
@HaruhiSuzumiya Mine said they couldn’t do anything with it, so I’m considering it DOA and requesting a return.
@mattsal23 Yea, I will probably return it as well. At least the google voice assistant worked and it was pretty nice imo.
