Call me a sucker or call me a fool, but you’ll never call me late for supper. Yet, I ordered two of these beauties – one for the wife and me and one for a grand in college. Somehow we got the unit in the same quarter of a year that it was ordered, mainly because it was delivered by FedEx and not Pitney Bowes, the infamous, constipated shipper of choice of late of Mediocrity Inc.
Used it for the first time last evening for what else, but French fries. Three small potatoes, knife sliced thin, deep, and often weighed in at 328 g naked – the potatoes not me. These cooked in about 20 minutes with a shake at the ten minute mark. Again the potatoes, not me.
Oiled with a wee bit of O. Reddenbacker butter flavored popcorn oil (shoulda done this at the getgo) and salted, they were not bad atall, atall.
The unit only has a timer. No temp control, but the manual technical writer didn’t seem to know or care about that. Also there is a “baking tray,” which is a slotted plate with feet and a welded, upright retrieval ring in the middle, which is not depicted in the product diagram nor mentioned in the manual, except maybe obliquely in the More Information column on p12. Still not sure how to use that bit.
For what it’s worth, my manual says that the steady temp is 360°F, not 392° or higher as frequently stated.
This is definitely a “snack” sized unit, but can be used within those limitations as you probably did not need to eat that much anyway.
It comes with a recipe booklet, obviously written for larger more capable units (viz., temp controls and a larger basket), but which is rather good at hinting about possibilities of foods one might cook in it. In that booklet for a few recipes, it says to insert a small deep pot in the basket in order to cook certain dishes. Where o’ where does one find such a pot to fit this micro air fryer?
Finally, be sure to wash the basket well, and to run the unit empty for a cycle or two of 20 minutes before putting food into it. This is to drive off that eau d’ new appliance fragrance lest it spoils your first impressions with off-putting flavors.
This would probably be OK for a student in a dorm, a single person, a couple of adults on a diet, or those who hate leftovers.
You can access the manual for the product from the link in the description, where once you have scrolled down to about page 11 or so, you will find a guide to foods, amounts and times.
It seems that the unit is designed to cook up to about 300 grams. For the metrically challenged, that is 2/3 of a pound at max capacity, but that is probably pushing it.
So figure two small to medium hamburgs, a medium fry, etc., BUT if you were shooting for a hamburger and frys from this thing, you are going to have to cook them serially, which means if you do the frys first, they are going to be either eaten and gone or completely cold by the time the burger is done or vice versa.

The possibilities are endless with the magic chef air fryer. Maybe not this tiny teeny one, but perhaps go shopping for one of our larger,more family oriented ones!
I have used this for less than 2 months, and now the fan motor just burned out (used it once or twice a day with small items), oh and the model number that is clearly printed all over the box, comes back as invalid when I input it at MC Appliances

I just got this. I haven’t opened it up yet but everyone seems to imply it is very small! The shipping box is … about the size of a breadbox.
I just decided to reheat pizza in the 3.7 quart air fryer I got in an irk a while back. I had to cut the slice in half to fit it.
