I hardly ever review anything anymore, but when something is decent, its worth a shout out - I got the charging pads last time, I like them. I buy and review a shit ton of charging pads for my end users at work. They are large, like 8"x11" large. These are good for workstations or home - only the left half charges. The other side is a catch tray. They do have additional USB ports for wired charging. The surface is fake leather and feels nice to the touch.
@jmhsrv Well at least you review the actual product and not just rate it and give it one star based on the the shipping box having a dent in it, packaging it came in or how long it took to arrive or how late at night I the Amazon driver delivered like half the people on Amazon do
@jmhsrv Do they have lights that light up when you charge something on them? I’m looking for something that will either remain unlit, or if it lights up, will turn off after a few seconds.
@CBL_WV They’ve must’ve bought out the inventory of that 99¢ store that one guy in 2011 though would bring the Dollar Storrs. Monopoly to its knees only to be crushed by the 98¢ store that opened a block away so prepare for even more crap from that buy out soon!
@CBL_WV if it happens inconsistently, it may be an easy way of tracking (source, age, whatever).
If it happens all the time it’s just irritating as heII.
I spent more time trying to figure out the difference between the charging mat, the charging pad, and the charging valet than I spent doing Wordle today
@xerdkwa
Valet: Bigger than a pad, has a tray section that doesn’t provide charging at all, charges only one thing at a time, doesn’t have the special Apple Watch flip-out charging spot, and you have to buy two - which is why the package comes with two bricklets.
Pad: Smaller than the Valet or Mat, charges just one thing at a time, and the package contains two Pads and two bricklets like the Valet.
Mat: Top surface is flat, doesn’t have the valet’s tray depression, has a flip-out charging dock for an Apple Watch, can charge two things at the same time as long as one of them is a phone and the other is an Apple watch. Sold as a one-unit pack instead of two, so it comes with just one bricklet.
If you need a more confusing explanation, I’m sure that we can form a committee to study the requirements and issue a white paper to guide development.
@bugger If this 15 watt charger is called a “maxipad”, what do you a call 12 kilowatt wireless car charger? “Toxic shock?”
[High efficiency 12kw wireless electric car chargers are coming “real soon now”, I saw it in a YouTube video. The vendor also plans on selling conversion kits for Tesla Model 3s and other cars.]
Total junk. I bought this last time. Came with incorrect charging cable. When I tried correct charging cable “c” style it still did not work. At least they refunded my money. Even they didn’t want it back.
@jmoor783 Except the sales tax runs it to a different total anyway, so being able to hand them a baggie with 99 precounted cents would be a rare result.

The irrationale described in the writeup reminds of the ‘reasons’ often given for commuting in a full-size pickup, and the complaints about the lack of adequate parking spaces which tend to immediately follow them.
I got the 3-in-1 last time it was offered. While it charged decently (not the fastest thing in the world), the charging cord is so short that it couldn’t reach the outlet from my nightstand, which makes it useless for me. It’s about 3’.
If .99 prices are still here during the week (and not just the result of a Mehrathon hangover) I might stop even checking the site daily, though I know it would sacrifice my button click count.
and if I did check back and saw it say 0 button clicks, I’d think F those 99 cent bastards and close the screen.
@beachhead
I bought (and got) a pair of pads from the sidedeal site. Work OK but the idiot light is stupid bright and cycles from bright to dim over and over and over and … until the item is fully charged.

@jmhsrv congrats, friend! You didn’t go for the “vegan leather” catch phrase, and instead called it for what it is.
@mokiejovis one tiny light on the front that turns off after a few seconds
What’s with the 99¢ BS?
@CBL_WV They’ve must’ve bought out the inventory of that 99¢ store that one guy in 2011 though would bring the Dollar Storrs. Monopoly to its knees only to be crushed by the 98¢ store that opened a block away so prepare for even more crap from that buy out soon!
@CBL_WV Came here to ask this.

If it happens all the time it’s just irritating as heII.
I spent more time trying to figure out the difference between the charging mat, the charging pad, and the charging valet than I spent doing Wordle today
@xerdkwa I still don’t know the difference.

Also, FUCK THE 99 CENT BULLSHIT.
@werehatrack @xerdkwa
FIFY
actually has a USB-C and a USB-A port that you can use at the same time as the wireless charger.
Loowoko! The first name in quality.
Quality carp that is.
@yakkoTDI fishy…
@mehvid1 @yakkoTDI Cod only knows if this is a good product or not. But you should still be perched to snapper it up if you need one.
Is 15 watts considered a Maxi-Pad?
@bugger If this 15 watt charger is called a “maxipad”, what do you a call 12 kilowatt wireless car charger? “Toxic shock?”
[High efficiency 12kw wireless electric car chargers are coming “real soon now”, I saw it in a YouTube video. The vendor also plans on selling conversion kits for Tesla Model 3s and other cars.]
@bugger @hamjudo
That will sell great because Tesla owners are known to jump on dodgy electronics from a start up. Oh wait.
@hamjudo Yes you are correct.
Total junk. I bought this last time. Came with incorrect charging cable. When I tried correct charging cable “c” style it still did not work. At least they refunded my money. Even they didn’t want it back.
@junkmandan
OK, this isn’t very helpful since there are 3 different options… which one did you buy?
boycotting buying anything until they get rid of the $.99 BS
@jmoor783 Too bad we can’t pay in cash and always send 99 pennies.
@jmoor783 Except the sales tax runs it to a different total anyway, so being able to hand them a baggie with 99 precounted cents would be a rare result.
@jmoor783 @werehatrack Write a check for the rest.

@werehatrack Don’t forget about the fuel economy complaints.
Charging pad for your information pad in our home pad. That is what they mean by 3 in 1, right?
Pass!
@glarue For me, it’s closer to Fail.
Oh, wait, they’re the same thing in this context…
Fail -> Pass.

I bought some of these last time they were offered in late august. They straight up don’t work. Pure trash, got a refund.
Wonder if there is inventory for VMP for a sold-out-item or if that only works if there is a single item for sale - not a choice of items.
If .99 prices are still here during the week (and not just the result of a Mehrathon hangover) I might stop even checking the site daily, though I know it would sacrifice my button click count.

did anyone get these? Meh just cancelled my order. Just wondering if it was a partial cancel, or the entire thing.
