A few short decades ago, toy companies doubted that boys would play with “dolls”. Now, half the office cubicles in the Western world are decorated with miniature talismans (talismen?) of imaginary gods and monsters. Funny thing is, those ones actually don’t get played with much anymore. Here are five action figures from the age when they were made to tumble down playground slides and battle across bedspreads. The first player to name all five figures and the series they belong to will win a $5 Meh coupon. Why, I remember when five bucks would’ve bought you two Star Wars guys… Insert signoff catchphrase here!

@Limewater knows their way around Europe even if Europe is turned the wrong way. They were the first to name all five European Countries with a Twist yesterday:

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an action figure whose expression so clearly said “I’m too good for this” as #1.

Aw, I’m disappointed there are no Fisher-Price Adventure People included here.
They were my favorite and I had a bunch of them and their vehicles/accessories.
They were very ‘functional’ and aptly named; I remember sending them on several ‘adventures’.
Favorite thing to do was to put the parachute on the dirt bike rider, put the rider on the bike, and use a wrist-rocket to launch it into the air. It would float down and coast on two wheels for a bit.
Also remember tunnels and chutes dug into snowbanks and dirt piles being a favorite venue for adventures.
The vehicles, boats, etc. were very rugged and functional.

God damn this makes me wish I were 10 years old again.

  The Adventure People ruled. Star Wars just decimated everything in Its wake. Quality toys at a fair price. They never ever broke.
