Same I use 18650’s with my ecigs so I always have some extras around. Lots of the high end flashlights will have a multi AA battery adapter or you can use a single 18650. If meh had those for sale I would be loading up.

BTW, Costco recently had a deal on 2 (two) similar LED flashlights, Duracell 700s, 9" long each, taking 3 x C cells, for about $14 plus tax. I think they’re either 700 lumens, or 700,000,000. Just sayin’. (Now press “Say it.”)
My sister got a flashlight like the smaller one (it’s life gear, not sure if it’s the same model) but her’s the button was a flashing red. She couldnt get it to turn off so she handed it to me… I ended up having to take out the battery to get it to turn off. Definitely the most meh flashlight I’ve seen

@merlin3of5 mine was defective as well. Heated up the batteries so I had to take it out of that white battery caddy. I can see this as a fire hazard when the batteries are left inside it.

@booboo9000 better yet, go to aliexpress and buy convoy. Their lights are not underpowered by any means from a lumen standpoint like I’m sure these meh is selling.
@booboo9000 I agree with you. I’d rather have that generic one. Comes with the 18650 battery and a charger. I usually pay more than that for my 18650 battery alone. I use the Nitecore NL189 3400mAh protected batteries.

I bought that exact flashlight a couple weeks ago when it was on sale. It was a great deal. I bought it because I hate having dead batteries in my flashlights because of the cold or kids leaving them on. So without a rechargeable option, I’m not interested in these from Meh.
I got the big one. I haven’t had any heat problems, but I did have an issue where the mode cycling was out of order and it would never turn off. I left it sitting for a few minutes and it turned itself off. After two times of doing that, it seems to be back to normal. It sure is bright though.
My problem is the switch, which failed fairly soon and is completely inaccessible for repairs. Also the Lumen claim. I stick to streamlight.
As always, check reviews and if the company exists or responds anymore.

Yes the Anker LC90 900 lumen that comes with a 18650 battery that you can recharge in the flashlight is a much better deal for just a few bucks more.( the link was mentioned a few posts earlier).
I really like the XL products from MagLite. I got an XL50 as a gift a few years ago and an XL200 for myself on a deal, and they’re great: one for my nightstand, one for my car. Convenient size/shape for packing, solid switches, multiple modes, and they only take three AAAs apiece (I have rechargeables). I’ve beaten them up while traveling, camping, etc., and other than a few nicks in the casing, they’re like new. My only complaint is no wrist strap.
Black and red versions are both working fine. For the red one, I found that I had to load the batteries, then squeeze them inward to get the battery holder in the flashlight, then use my thumb to force the holder down all of the way. Once done, it worked without even adding the back screw-on portion. Getting the battery pack back out again is a whole 'nother problem, which involves lots of pounding (and optional cursing). This thing had better be rugged, or it is not likely to survive multiple battery changes.
@neilboylecpa Unscrew the back end. Slide out the battery holder. If it is stuck, you may have to tap the bottom on something until the holder slides out far enough to grab. All nine batteries go in the holder facing the same direction with + ends facing the front of the flashlight.
@neilboylecpa That black ring with the three screws and the gold center IS the battery holder. You need to replace the screws and pull (or knock) the whole battery holder out. It looks like this with batteries loaded:
