I rarely go anywhere. First it was the bad hip (couldn’t trust walking, my leg would just give out), then the hip replacement, then the COVID.
I did go to Costco a couple of weeks ago to get new glasses. He did the shopping while I got tested. I never left the optometry department (at the front of the store).

@kykazaa@RiotDemon i think @CO2 derailed it and I guess I would tell them apart based on if I would wear them in public. Or just wear them at home… but that’s still a very large pool. I’m not against throwing on the stained (but clean) sweat shirt I use to work on the car/do yard work if I’m cold. No one is ever gonna see me.
And sometimes you just wear PJs in public cause fuck it. So. Meh?

It doesn’t matter what I wear when I’m seeing people; it’s about what I wear when I expect to be seen by people. Out for necessary shopping and errands: unremarkable but comfortable clothes and shoes. At home: same, but possibly grungier depending on what yard work I’m doing. “Dress-up” occasions: the same, because I’m retired and don’t do fancy clothes.
To save energy, I keep the house warmer in summer and cooler in winter. For now it’s still just undershorts, but once the furnace comes on it will be the same plus a heavy robe, or pajamas or warm athletic clothes.
I would love nothing more to get dressed and do something…anything with people! I’m so tired of being cooped up in the house! I don’t even know what day it is half the time…

if it’s ~50F, add black cotton leggings & ankle socks to above.
cooler, knee socks instead of ankle socks. it has to be really cold for me to wear anything long sleeve. also depends what i’m doing. i run very warm so if i’m up doing anything at all i’ll wear less than if i’m sitting on the couch. but also, the couch has blankets including an electric one so i prefer that vs. long sleeves or thick sweats or whatever. and i never wear shoes or makeup at home.
ETA: i don’t have pajamas. i wear the same tshirts and tank tops & underwear to bed as i would wear during the day. i’m not sure when that happened but, here we are. (long before covid anyhow.)
@jerk_nugget Me too. As soon as I get home (or if I’m always home) the clothes I’m wearing stay on me until I shower. I can’t remember the last time I changed clothes to go to sleep.
@Fuzzalini yeah, if it’s august and/or i’ve cooked anything messy for dinner i’ll put on a clean tank top but otherwise it feels like a waste of a shirt since i’m going to put on something fresh after i shower anyway. (and clothing conservation is esp important to me as i have to go to a laundromat to do laundry.)
I can go without seeing people for at least a week and video conferencing is not a requirement for work, so my wardrobe in a word would be “sparse”. It’s a good thing in my view as laundry, water, gas and vehicle costs have dropped to pre-college levels. Electricity and online charges however, have been stubbornly bucking the trend for some unknown reason. I’ve been meaning to give the power company and bank a call to double check their records.
My boyfriend always wears “the uniform” which is a T shirt and boxer shorts. After stealing a couple of pairs of his old shorts, I found some bamboo boxer shorts for women on Amazon that rock. Maybe when it gets colder, I’ll get their capri pants.
