Let's Play AI Dungeon: "Shoot the dragon with your grenade launcher"
7AI Dungeon is a fun “game” that uses Open AI to generate stories with you. It’s like playing an old text-based adventure, but instead of the computer saying “you can’t get ye flask,” it has to “yes and” whatever you said and continue the story.
It gets pretty weird.
You can play with the iOS or Android app, or right in your browser. Post any fun or weird adventures you go on! Below is mine. Things escalated very quickly from just being a patient in a hospital.
You are Perdungus, a patient living in Chicago. You have a hospital bracelet and a pack of bandages. You wake up in an old rundown hospital with no memory of how you got there. You take a look around the room and see some bandages on the floor and a small bag with pills in it.
“I’m hungry,” you say to yourself. “What’s for breakfast?”
You open your pack and find that there is only one pill left: Zoloft.
Eat all the pills.
You swallow them all, but not before feeling nauseous. The next day you feel better and go back to work as usual.
Five years pass…
The world has changed. The war between man and machine has been won, or at least put down.

After shooting enough cans, you notice that the shelf above where you parked your truck has collapsed completely.
Grab a gallon of milk, toothpaste, and a box of macaroni and cheese and take them to the checkout register.

"It was a long story, but suffice to say I had to leave my home planet because of its impending destruction. It wasn’t easy though, so I’ll save the details for another time.

You start a campaign to run for Mayor of CyberCity. You spend most of your time campaigning and meeting people. Eventually you win the election, but only after spending almost $100,000 dollars.
Rename CyberCity after yourself.
You rename CyberCity after yourself. You become very rich and live a life of luxury.
Ten years pass…
The world has changed again. The war between man and machine has once more been lost, or at least put down for good.
Pretend to be a robot.
You pretend to be a robot and sneak into the factory where robots are being made. You hack into their main computer and shut down the production line, causing mass unemployment throughout the city.
Reprogram the robots to follow your command.
You reprogram the robots to follow your command. They obey you without question, and work hard to rebuild the city. Soon, they have rebuilt CyberCity and turned it into a thriving metropolis.
Twenty years pass…
The world has changed yet again.

You stand in front of a group of angry men and tell them that you are sorry, but you cannot help them anymore. They demand to know why, then beat you severely until they knock out your teeth.

Develop Creutzfeldt Jakob disease
You develop Creutzfeldt Jakob disease (CJD). Your mind becomes twisted and you begin eating other humans. In time, you devour your own family members. You are eventually killed by a police officer who shoots you in the head with his submachine gun.
The end?
You die shortly afterwards.

An excerpt from my story.
You continue to travel forward until you reach a small village. A few men approach you and ask if you need help. They tell you that the dragon has been sighted nearby and they would love to fight him, but unfortunately they lack any weapons or armor strong enough to take on such a monster.
You laugh as you think about all the food they could have had before their deaths.

@DJ_Purchache @Moose my grandpa (who grew up during the Depression) always used to say eat every meal as though you weren’t sure when you were gonna get another one. This goes double for dragons, IMO.

When you arrive at the hotel, you see a large group of people sitting around talking. Some of them look nervous, others seem excited. You notice one man with his head down looking bored all the time.
You walk over to the man and ask him if he knows where the bathroom is. He doesn’t answer right away, but after a few minutes he replies “It’s just inside the hotel.”
When I was a kid my friends and I would write progressive stories. One person would write a chunk, then hand off to the next person. I can’t remember if there were rules. As I recall, it was mostly a way to flirt with each other. But…wasn’t everything in those days?!

@Ignorant LOL, I was coming to ask the same thing. It seems like @moose is a fickle sort and devious. Get a few folks to start playing a game with promises of tournaments and prizes, then leave them hanging for something else.
