I’m not sure I should blame my ancient wiring or my ancient circuit breakers – which you can no longer by any new ones of. (I’m awaiting on a couple of replacement used ones from eBay.) And a house wiring update is not in my budget for the near future.
@stolicat amps = watts / volts. So a 1400 watt microwave plugged into a 120v outlet = 11.7 amps. If your breaker was designed for a load of 20 amps, this shouldn’t be a problem unless you have another 8 amps of devices plugged into the same circuit. And 1400 watt is a peak high current draw.
@braveit1 It’s not so much the breaker - I have a 20A breaker running ancient, under-sized frayed wiring which was never meant to handle much more than 1000W.
The house is very old, and has had multiple owners & tenants, and many DYI “improvements & additions” to its electrical, plumbing and heating systems that have led to much mirth and hilarity when something finally fizzles out for good.
I checked google t geta review on this Air Fryer & at Amazon the reviews were good, but this AF was only $49.99 which do mean this deal is $11 cheaper, so it’s cheaper, but not the big deal of the day, IF ya happen ta have Amazon Prime, otherwise it’s $12.99 for shipping, or is $62.98, ergo, ya save about $24 afore taxes; a better deal, though still not hardly the great savings meh is known to offer,…but what the hell!! Still, I’m gonna hold out for some better deal; there’s a whole hour left!! Regardless, I got a Indoor Grill & Griddle(?) ta play with + 10 nice colored knives, so I can grill me a fun chicken!!
The beep this thing makes is the loudest thing in my entire house. It’s like it’s trying to compete with literal gunfire in decibels. Who in god’s name thought this was a good idea?
I’d like one, but at 1700 watts I think it’d fry my ancient kitchen wiring.
