@tpaciello You might be surprised by how friendly Macys is with price matching. Have had good luck in the past. Show the deal on your phone. And make it easy for them with a printed page as well.

But that would match our experience with KitchenAid small and large appliances. Not what they used to be. Their bowl-lift stand mixer would be the only product we’d consider.
And their customer service is pretty much oblivious.
Oh, it is something I want and need! Tired of hauling that huge old cuisinart out of the bottom shelf just to mince up 1/2 an onion.
Maybe not as much fun as buying something I have dubious use for, but it helps to ease the cat shirt guilts.

A similar unit has been sitting unused in my cabinet for ~20 years. I use a series of other, more efficient, choppers. They’re called “knives.”

@stolicat For half an onion a knife would take a lot less time than this.
@craigthom @stolicat Yep, knife would be faster, especially after cleanup. And you have to work much harder to cut your finger with a food processor.
@RedOak @stolicat I don’t know. A knife is easier to hold while washing than a food processor blade, and those things are sharp.

@RedOak @stolicat After slicing my thumb half off drying a kitchen knife, I think my technique when cutting with a knife is solid:
Never have anything you don’t want to cut between the edge of the blade and the cutting board. Never.
I’m very good at keeping my fingers out of the way.
Washing the knives, though, is when I get a little apprehensive. And washing the blade of a food processor is worse, since there’s less to hold on to.
