Keyword failure?
8I’m not sure how good this company is at keyword targeting in this ad from the Meh front page.
I work in IT, so I often Google for things involving Microsoft’s product line. I don’t believe I have ever even once searched Google for information on portals through which to see outside my home. I can’t imagine how low the percentage is of queries for “windows installation” that are actually searching for framed glass panels.

As long as they’re helping to pay the site, I’ll ignore them like any other ad.
@narfcake Thanks! That’s just what our advertisers want to hear.
@dave The last ads I saw here are for Google Fi and retirement, neither which are relevant for me.
Perhaps if the ads were for a site that sells catshirts, I’d be more interested, but I’m already well aware of TeeTurtle already since the days when Ramy bought ad space directly on shirt.woot.
@narfcake oh yeah, I was just kidding, the algorithmic ads here are largely worthless. I’d love if relevant advertisers contacted us more often.
@narfcake
I get ads on this site for things that I have spoken about, but never searched.
Examples:
Conclusion: Google is listening to my conversations via my phone and then choosing to use that info exclusively for ads on meh.
I have a hunch.

@dashcloud this is my 2 and 4 year olds’ favorite song right now. And we have a Google home, so they listen to it all the time whenever they want (and whenever Google understands them). The best part is they can’t help but break out into dance EVERY Time the song comes on, no matter what they were doing before.
Oh, @djslack - I call this keyword success! - If the keyword is awesome!

I’m not sure what this one even is, but it has a nice acronym:
PANS! GLANDS! CRAYONS! AWESOME!
@djslack that is a seriously weird ad.

Before I could stop myself, I clicked on one to see if was really a dental drill. Now I’ll be getting those for the rest of my life. Maybe Meh customer profile = DDS?
