I have one of these. The non-tile version is fine. This one is not good at all. You need to buy a key extender to have it work with more than 4 small keys, and it feels like cheap plastic. Stay away.
I have one of these (I think I got it here several months ago.) Just checked it and the battery is dead. The battery is supposed to last a month but mine lasts a week at best. I already have several other things I carry with me ans have to remember to charge (phone, watch, Fitbit).
It would be really neat and useful if the battery lasted longer and/or the Tile app would tell you if the battery is low. As it is, it’s more frustrating than it’s worth for some peace of mind that doesn’t really exist.
I think I’m going to dig out my old KeySmart and buy a Tile Pro to put on it. It will be bulkier, but at least it will tell me when the battery is dying.
Edit: The Tile app says it last saw my KeySmart Pro on Nov 28. I specifically remember charging it in Black Friday. So it lasted 5 days and it’s been dead for about 9 days. Super useful.

Dunno if I got a defective one or what but it only stays charged like a day at best, making it kind of useless for the whole tile thing. I mean hell I can’t even enjoy the flashlight part of it unless I can be assed to charge it nightly, which I can’t. Like the swiss army knifu of keys though.
Mine is working well. I have a charger at my desk and top it off at the end of the week.The little flap covering the port is discoloring a bit, but its been working fine.
@bxm83 Same, re discoloring. I’ve only had it a couple months, but it used to blend pretty well. Now it’s like “Hey, look at this flap made of different material!”
Pro-tip: A Nite Ize Key Rack fits nicely in these like a key. No more annoying jiggly keys when I clip it to my belt. It also replaces the need to add in the car remote loop.
I bought one of these the last time they were available. The Tile part works fine: can find phone, can find keys with phone, etc. The charge did last about a month. I knew when the flashlight stopped working that I needed to charge it. (and the light is the most important part for me, actually).
It is pretty difficult to get keys into when you’re setting it up, and my wife thinks it takes me too long to get the keys swiveled out into a usable position when I’m trying to get into the house. I was pretty good before we moved, but I think maybe the way I put everything together this time is less than optimal. I will futz with it again to try and get it together better, but as it is now there’s a bit of fumbling when I’m trying to get in my own house.
All in all, I do like it. But it isn’t a perfect system. And there should be a better way to swap keys in and out. As it is now, I need a tool bench and screwdrivers and one of those loupes that jewelers use just to put it all together. And it acts as a deterrent from fixing it/moving keys around. But again; the electronics part of it has been 100% kosher so far.
I like my keyless car, leave the thing in my pocket and just get close to the car to unlock and push a button to start, plus can never leave the key in the car! We need to rid the world of keys.
@farfromfunny - I use the key to the Solarium of Eery Miniatures every day! It’s where I keep my underwear. OK, so technically at our fog-shrouded manor it’s the Solarium of Eerie Miniatures, but still.
@Mandamm Then you’re doing it wrong. I’ve been rocking my keysmart for about a year with no problems. Every once and a while I have to tighten the screw with my finger nail, that’s it.
@sippinndippin they look like you just would need an Allen key to tighten them. A quick trip to Home Depot may solve your problem, if you haven’t thrown it away.
@GospelX It seems like I’m alone on this, but I’ve had one for about a year. It still holds a charge for ~30 days, I’ve packed it as a carry on for 2 flights without issue and I hold ~5 keys on it. Since I’m a key holder for a company, I like the placebo effect it gives me knowing I’ll have one last resort in the case when I lose my keys or phone.

I fly all the time and have never had an issue carrying them through security. I just drop them in the pocket/x-ray bowl with my wallet and pick them up on the other side of the scanner.

I just put it on the belt with my shoes and whatnot. I also go through security at government buildings every day and same thing: no one has said anything even once. I have to assume they’re “known” enough now that security knows it’s not a blade or something dangerous.
I don’t get the negative reviews. I LOVE mine! My keys no longer poke me in my pocket and they take up far less room. The Tile feature has helped me locate my keys numerous times and the light is perfect in that it’s always with me. I only have to recharge it every eight weeks or so and it chagres simply overnight.
@GreerD2015 If I remember correctly from last year when meh sold this and the cheaper non-tile ones, most of the reviews were about the price. It’s a cool idea, but they originally charged WAY too much for two thin pieces of metal and screws. Even more so for the tile version.
i bought the metal one (no tile) a while back and i like it. i use it daily. i have about 4 or 5 keys in there alongside a bottle opener / hoop accessory I bought later on.
assembly was strange but once I put it all together it improved my keys for sure. now all i need on my belt clip is my car key & this. it may not be for everyone but it works for me.
I picked up one of these several months ago, and so far it’s been a near-perfect solution. No trouble with the battery, no problems with it coming apart (I did get an extension parts kit so I could make it a little wider to fit more keys). I usually keep it in a pocket knife pouch, and after some time getting used to flipping out the key I need, I can now usually do it pretty quickly one-handed.
The main trouble I have is with the Tile function, which I use (99% of the time) to find my phone when I’ve put it down absent-mindedly as I often do. This function works at best about 60% of the time. I’ve tested it, where I’ve got my phone and keys both next to me for 30 minutes, I pick up the keys and try to signal to the phone, and it doesn’t respond after a dozen tries. This means that when the phone is actually lost, the Tile function may not help me find it, even if it’s in range (and has been for a while). No means that I’ve found in Android for preventing the Tile app from being backgrounded, put to sleep or killed will help with this. It’s just fundamentally unreliable, at least with my Samsung phone (a Note 8 ).

And they recommend using a drop of Loctite on the screws.
