Since I’m interested in all sorts of audio equipment, I bought one of these for the hell of it from Morningsave less than 2 weeks ago. It’s basically a set of tablet-grade speakers that you can wear around your neck, which has the advantage of letting you leave the audio source somewhere else while you’re working but without having traditional in-ear or over-ear headphones blocking out other sounds that you want to be able to hear. The “tablet-grade” designation refers to the audio quality and volume being “fine,” especially for the stuff like news videos and similar that I normally listen to (so not music, where the quality is just “ok.”) The volume is available at a usable level, since the speakers are always right under your ears, and you don’t have to worry too much about disturbing other people nearby with volume that has to be cranked high enough for you to be able to hear it from wherever the audio source is.
The one annoyance is that I paid an additional $10, 25% more, just for having spotted this on one of the meh sister sites, as I said under 2 weeks ago.
Eh, why not? Picked one up for my GF to use while watching TV while we are in bed while I’m asleep. She doesn’t like headphones if she can avoid them and this way the TV doesn’t have to be cranked up at the other side of the room to overcome my white noise machine on mg nightstand.
@audiocontr I was wondering the same. Would be nice (when not on video) not having a earpiece or head set on all day. Anyone tried it for phone calls? Wondering how good the mic is and how the sound quality is for Voice call
@brennyn@tsveggie Thanks I saw that. I called morningsave and told them of my issue and they gave me a credit. Try it. 99.999% they are good about it. Pray your not the 0.001% they decline.

Style: Wearable Speaker
I’ve tested almost 10 non branded neck speaker and comparing them all with the 1st branded neck speaker, the JVC SPA10BTB.
This is the lightest neck speaker with an acceptable mic and speaker quality however this should not cost more than $20. Those non branded neck speakers are giving you the same experiance.
So far my choice is Oraolo m110 at half of the price of this JVC
That one has much better speaker and more clear microphone thanks to the upgraded Bluetooth 5.0
The only problem with Oraolo is the weight.
I am happier with this thing than possibly with any other thing I’ve ever purchased from Meh. It paired immediately with my cell phone and every sound the phone makes comes through this thing instead. Phone calls are clear and crisp, and music is excellent. Ear buds never stay in my ears, and when they DO stay in, they block out all other sound. This thing was the perfect solution, especially for talking on the phone while driving. If these things ever show up on Meh again, I will buy another one just to have a spare. Just looked 'em up on Amazon, and we’re talking 68 bucks. A great bargain and a great gizmo (see, I didn’t call it a “thing” again)!
I have no reason to doubt the authenticity, FWIW, JVC’s own website has the following disclaimer: “Warning: counterfeit JVC products are being sold within the United States”.
actual stereo and that feeling of the sound coming from the middle of your head; the sound feels like headphones/earbuds but without the discomfort of having something stuck in or pressing against the outside of your ear

better sound focus with less leakage (i.e., . forcing everyone else to be on speaker with you); haven’t thoroughly tested it yet, but I now how shitty phone in the pocket or any other speaker phone placement is
@mprima I see several people with hearing aids, and it’s now common for the hearing aid to have direct Bluetooth connection to your phone, so this would be redundant.
Check your elders’ hearing aids for functionality before buying this!
To whomever has used this one, my mom is hard of hearing and WON’T wear over,on, in ear headphones. (Dementia) and won’t wear her hearing aids any more.
Ergo TV is up at max.
So from loudness, how loud do these get? Thinking she might put these on her neck/shoulders to hear the TV better.

We are having a LOT of fun with this product in our family. Oh, no, not with the actual product, no idea what it’s like, haven’t gotten it yet. The fun is following the tracking, it’s kind of like a “Where in the World is Carmen San Diego” game. Ordered it on Feb 20 (today is March 2) and it was sent to Carrolton, TX. Then it was quickly sent to the city where I live in Kentucky. Yay, shaved my neck beard in anticipation. But… but… wait. From the city I live it was sent to Smyrna, TN. Ok… not too far from Kentucky. Then it went to Little Rock, AR… perplexing, but still close to Kentucky. Today it went to Mississippi. I feel like Meh should take a picture at each place and send it to me like one of those “Where is the Gnome” tropes. Where to next? We are hoping somewhere overseas, New Zealand maybe. Gotta love the USPS!

This A to B to Q to M to A to Z stuff is new since his appointment. Before it was UPS and FedEx holding ground shipments until the stated delivery date by “pinball method logistics”. Enjoy!

She is a destroyer of headphones. I lose earbuds all by myself.
These only seem to pair with cell phones. I tried to pair it with my laptop and it couldn’t find it. I bought two thinking it would be useful for conferencing with Zoom. Oh well!
They don’t pair with my Roku Stream bar my main reason for purchase when husband goes to bed early.
May keep to avoid holding cell phone to my ear during long conversations
@redtennies Are you using this on your Roku TV or enabled device? I think you might be able to work around it by downloading the Roku app to your phone. I discovered a few months ago that there is private listening option on the app that works with Roku TVs and Roku streaming sticks. It will play through your phone or iPad then just enable Bluetooth and you can more than likely hear it that way since it does work with phones. I will give it a try and let you know if it works!

I got mine yesterday. Sounds great. My wife hates earbuds, so I had her try the neckband speaker today.
She growls at me every time I try to take them from her.

Hoping this works well with my hearing aids on, and in my ear. Otherwise, I have to remove my aids, to use my regular headphones.

I charge them at night, and they last the whole day. Phone call and Zoom work just fine. Acceptable audio quality.
