Is this better than the little waterproof speaker ball? Those are okay for the price, but don't sound great.
Instead of buying every $4 to $8 crappy speaker on Meh (which is like death by a thousand paper cuts), I should probably just spend $70 once on a really good one.
The Dominator X-10. Thirty inches of thigh-slapping, blood-pumping, nuclear brain damage!
So what if it's as big as a Subaru and costs as much? You'll never have to trade this in! This is gonna be with you for the rest of your life! And when you die, they can BURY you in it!
@communist Thanks for the tip! I actually own an Ion Party Rocker Live. It doesn't have battery, but has a pretty bright disco ball to go along with the karaoke mic! It's a great backyard speaker. I was thinking about something like the Logitech UE Boombox, which I see go on EBay for well under $100 (used)- something I can carry around with me when I working around the house, on the car, etc.
I'm actually glad this sold out before I got to it, because I would have totally bought it and never used it. Now I can spend that $9 on something else, like alcohol.
@warpedrotors You're welcome. I actually was given one of these a couple of years ago and it's pretty darn awesome. I bought for gifts so others will know the awesomeness, too.
Fuck it. Just plant a Bluetooth speaker in my molars already so I'll stop worrying about whether I have sufficient Bluetooth coverage in my already maxed-out multitasking life. God forbid I disconnect for two minutes to brush my teeth, take a shit, or climb a fucking mountain.
Speaker arrived with my fuko last night (fuko was unexceptional). I'm really liking it so far. - Sound quality is excellent. - Yes, it does make a difference to have the speaker in the shower. - Range kind of amazed me. I had my phone in one corner of the house charging and basically carried the speaker all over without the connection even crackling. - Power button? Great as far as I'm concerned. Yes, it takes a little more effort than any of the other buttons, but it's not difficult. And I prefer it that way, avoiding accidentally turning the thing off or on. - BlueTooth connection effortless. - Volume buttons. These are great. 1) They're separate (as opposed to many devices that combine with FF and RW). 2) They're positioned one on each side, which works really well: easy to know what I'm doing, even, literally, with my eyes closed. 3) These are the easiest buttons on the speaker, which, again, just makes sense. - In addition to the cord and suction cups, there's a nice little stand, which works well in my shower basket and everywhere else I want to use the speaker.
This little baby has quickly taken over for the X-stream in the bathroom, but is likely to become my go-to mobile speaker, because the sound is great (and loud when I want it to be). It's not unreasonably big either.
I waited and watched for just the right "wet" speaker. My patience paid off and the 8 bucks were well spent.
Taking a call in the shower would be pointless. There's no way the person on the other end would be able to understand you over the sound of running water, after all.
I'd be tempted… except I am already using the shower radio I got from you back in February. [Officially, it is the: ION AUDIO SOUND SPLASH BLUETOOTH SPEAKER WITH FM RADIO]
Okay, the only negative comment I have so far is that it looks like you can only pair it with one device. If the device it's paired with is available when you turn it on, it will connect to it. The only way to pair it with a different device is to remove it from the phone it's currently paired with (or turn off that phone's Bluetooth) and then you can initiate pairing again to connect to a different phone. If you want to use it with the original phone again, you have to repair again.
I bought this about a year ago. Still use it daily. I get several hours out of each charge, and it does a good job of amplification. One of my best buys on Meh.
I feel bad, this is pretty much exactly what I asked for on tuesday a week or two ago, but I didnt look until after it sold out. I suppose I shouldn't feel too bad- it'd be worse if I asked for it and then at 11:59 pm I said, 'eeeeehhhhhhh I asked for it and 6 sold, but I don't really feel like it anymore"
My speaker arrived today and I'm pleased. It sound much better than I expected. We're not talking Bose SoundLink quality or anything but it sounds way better than I could have hoped for with a $9 speaker. Most importantly, it's loud enough to hear over the shower, even with a bathroom vent fan running.
I can't say anything about the speakerphone capabilities. I don't plan on taking any conference calls from the shower or anything.
Charley Patton- High Water Everywhere But what's the point of listening to music when you're missing most of it due to the noise of a shower? On a related note, this drives me nuts: when visiting with someone and it's mutually agreed to "listen" to music and the other person starts talking.
Every fucking day. Also works great for travel–and not just because I shower when I travel; sound easily fills a hotel room, the various means of securing them (hanging, standing, suckered) are handy and they don’t take up much space in a backpack. IMO, these speakers sound better than any of the variety of other Bluetooth speakers I’ve purchased (including those I’ve received unbidden in fuko/fuku), with maybe the exception of a couple of substantially larger speaker docs—AND they’re quite water resistant. I get soap and water all over these fuckers with no noticeable impact. The controls are pretty much genius, especially volume. Charge lasts for days.
Bring these back, meh, and I will buy one without even thinking. I’ll probably buy some for those I love–including an additional (that’s right, motherfucker, that’d be three) for moi.
★ “I had to hang my speaker on the shower pipe, since the suction cups are unreliable. It’s not ideal in my case because I already have a shelf hanging from the pipe. I’m not sure what, if any, effects the soapy runoff from the shelf will have on the speaker. Fingers crossed. […] Impressive battery life. I’ve been using the speaker on a daily basis for a little over a month (10-15 min showers) without have to recharge it. The battery indicator says I’m down to 2 bars (out of 5). No regrets so far.” - Amazon Customer

@radi0j0hn I just got a giggle about your question about a radio for the john. Sorry. Totally nothing to add to the conversation. FWIW, the logo looks different but similar.
Anyone have an issue with the play/pause button? It just doesn't seem to work on mine... :( Everything about this speaker is sweet but I can't deal with a non working play/pause button. I wish I was just overlooking some sort of lock or something so I don't have to deal with the return process...... so sad :(
@conandlibrarian Ok thanks for checking. I just tried Pandora on a 3rd tablet. Still no play/pause ability. Time to contact support it is. I'm so bummed because the sound quality on this is awesome.
I'm glad Meh finally offered a speaker for sale.
How about stepping your game up and selling a drone I can fly in the shower?
@awk meh!
@awk A bluetooth knife speaker drone
@mauisean Needz moar pillow.
I want another drone! No cam on it this time. Just a simple Cheerson no cam!

@madmaxmedia No, you should spend $8 each until you find the right $70 speaker. :p
@madmaxmedia my brother has an ion speaker box. the battery lasts all day and the sound fills up the room http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Tailgater-Portable-Bluetooth-Microphone/dp/B00SNBCBGE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1460277068&sr=8-2&keywords=ion+speaker

@MehnofLaMehncha When is it gonna be on Meh.com?
First reaction... Seriously another bluetooth speaker? Why would I want to answer phone calls in the shower...
Next thing I know I have 2 in my cart and hitting purchase.
@Conklaven Now I just bought Three... Get me away from this site!
@Conklaven Thank you for saving the rest of us from regrets.

@Tenorsinging rubber ducky joy of joys
@CaptAmehrican when I squeeze you, you make noise
"Speak" up another speaker deal that might be slip sliding away---
I really like this site, but they just don't offer enough bluetooth speaker sales.
I'm actually glad this sold out before I got to it, because I would have totally bought it and never used it. Now I can spend that $9 on something else, like alcohol.
@cpierce My thoughts exactly. Thank you to everyone who bought this crap.

@MehnofLaMehncha Tomorrow's sale: implantable under the skin wireless charging bluetooth speaker... and a knife so you can install it yourself.
so when does the site get renamed to bluetoothspeakersforcheap.com?
@jihiggs http://knivesandspeakerdocks.com/
Clean out of ideas here ...
Keep reading it has hands-free capability. If I'm in the shower, at least one hand ain't free. Just saying ...
I don't bathe enough to make this worth buying. Meh!
8 hours? That's like, 4 years' worth!

I purchased three. I know three people I can gift these to.
Splash splash Meh will take a bath, selling this on Saturday night... (apologies to Bobby Darin, probably rolling in his grave)
Sold out in less than an hour!

This thing is actually pretty great. Power button's a bit tough to push, but it actually has some bass and sounds good in the shower.

Cue east coast whiners come morning ...
@narfcake Cue west cost wineries to provide relief ...
What's the matter, was the model number too hideous to even waste your time tearing it apart?
I come on, I see another Bluetooth *%#¥ing speaker, I try to make fun of it to my SO... And she says "wow, that's actually really awesome"
So, now I'm all "herbivorous-incandescent-dress"

Nope, but I will add that reviews are decent.
@Stallion
Prerequisite for writing said reviews is that these folks were dumb enough to buy the damn thing in the first damn place.
@MehnofLaMehncha AND at full price......
No!
@connorbush meh!
Splish splash.....Bobby Darin
What if you're taking a bath?
I've heard De La Soul's sample of "A Little of Soap" on Three Feet High and Rising but I've never heard the original song.
@jaremelz
Were you aware they sampled your song? I hope you get royalties!
@mehdaf
I'm not gonna slip up and buy this.

in for zero. meh.
Would have considered this if it had a built in radio.
Actually I got one for my 16yo son who loves his music but, showers...not so much. Order # miffed-childish-thumb...hmmmm.....

Forget to check at exactly midnight, miss out. Meh. :/
So, @JasonToon is a closet Kpop fan?
4nia or Blackjack?
Are these the same folks that made the 640x480 Jam Cam?

@radi0j0hn @therealjrn Ha, I had one of those cameras too.
I was in the shower this morning thinking, "I should have gotten one of those things." Doh!
There's only so many things I can jam while in the shower.
Okay, in My Bathroom is a Private Kind of Place, she repeatedly says "I cream." So, um, I guess that's the kind of face she's making.
