@Cerridwyn@shahnm Last year we had 18" of snow in April. Never happened before in the 60+ years I’ve lived here. I only hope it was an anomaly and not the beginning of a trend.
@phendrick The weather in Paris, TX has been miserable of late. (I have a friend who made the dubious choice to live on a farm near-ish to there. I get near-daily updates regaling me with the details of all of the wonderful things that I regard as proof that everyone who thinks highly of small-farm life is out of their fucking minds.)
Not having to wear a goddamn coat every day. Except for the tiny advantage that coats are the only women’s clothes with decent pockets, I hate having to put on another layer just to go outside. Bring on short sleeve weather!
No more snow shoveling, spreading sand on ice, tracking crud in the house, wearing ice-cleated boots, wearing long-johns, dripping icy slush from my car, seeing my lawn, seeing green, worrying about snow depth on roof, going for walks.
Considering it’s been over 80 a few days already in the past 2 weeks and we haven’t had a frost since early Feb (with none on the horizon according to the weather apps) I think that ship has sailed is sailing.
Spent the afternoon yesterday potting up a dozen volunteer windmill palms, transplanting lavender, potting sun coleus cuttings, and thinning/re-potting a bunch of yarrow, then cleared out some old thornless raspberry canes and threaded the new green shoots (already have leaf buds on them and are 5 feet long) thru the fence… in shorts (actually an old pair of swim trunks) and a sleeveless T-shirt. This afternoon will probably be some overdue pruning of the grape vines on the back fence and work on the chicken coop to get it ready for new chicks in the next couple of weeks. TL:DR being outside working in the yard.
@yakkoTDI I’m glad you can go out! It is too cold for me here, although I saw someone out (and very bundled) on their road bike at 7:15 AM at 38 deg F. I certainly need to build by endurance since I do less time on the indoor bike, by far.
Considering that I narrowly avoided getting snow on my windshield on the way into Los Angeles a bit over a week ago, and it was cold and miserable on the damn cruise down to Puerto Vallarta, what “nice weather”?
Not being cold.
@shahnm
And the rain and snow being fucking done
@Cerridwyn No snow where I am, and there’s more rain during the warmer months. But I get your point. Down with weather we don’t like!!

@macromeh @shahnm
Absolutely
California girl here and so tired of wet weather is I just. We need the water we’ve had enough for right now.
Nice weather?
I cannot afford to go to Nice.
Maybe Paris (Texas).
/image Nice, France
@phendrick, I spent November in France, Nice is beautiful.
@phendrick
Here’s a road trip thru the 18 states with a Paris in them:

@kittykat9180 @phendrick I can’t believe you missed the obvious joke!
I went to Nice in November. Nice is nice.
@chienfou Oui, tres bien!
Not having to wear a goddamn coat every day. Except for the tiny advantage that coats are the only women’s clothes with decent pockets, I hate having to put on another layer just to go outside. Bring on short sleeve weather!
Nice weather has been here for a while. Today’s bike ride was nice.
Fresh local fruit and vegetables!
@Salanth Particularly the ones that are sourced within 100 feet of my front door!
No more snow shoveling, spreading sand on ice, tracking crud in the house, wearing ice-cleated boots, wearing long-johns, dripping icy slush from my car, seeing my lawn, seeing green, worrying about snow depth on roof, going for walks.
Closer to fall
Better overall mood(aka less depression)

Golf and outdoor pickleball!
The kids spending more time outside.
@xobzoo This kid is especially looking forward to that.
Dreading that Summer is right around the corner. Nine months of heat, humidity, and daily thunderstorms.
@sjk3 Humidity? What’s that?
The will to go outside.
Being able to sit outside without freezing (winter) or baking (summer). That window is brief when your ideal temperature range is 65 to 80.
Bike riding (outside).
@andyw On road? Off road?
@yakkoTDI On the road, paved and some dirt roads. And you?
@andyw Right now I am mainly on road to build my endurance back up. Preference is off road with my CX, gravel or one of the mountain bikes.
@yakkoTDI I’m glad you can go out! It is too cold for me here, although I saw someone out (and very bundled) on their road bike at 7:15 AM at 38 deg F. I certainly need to build by endurance since I do less time on the indoor bike, by far.
Longer walks with the dogs, without having to put on a hat and gloves and parka first.

@mediocrebot
@blaineg Sorry, couldn’t resist.
@Kyeh Meh, they’re only fake Harleys.
/showme what I am most looking forward to in the nice weather
@mediocrebot is apparently going to travel to someplace where psychedelic mushrooms are legal.
Walking without me and my dogs being clenched with the cold
