Kitchen gadgets, old cookbooks, and knitting/crochet/sewing stuff. My husband bought me every pasta making gadget for my kitchenaid for birthdays and christmas til i had them all then started buying stuff like a joule sous vide stick, an electric kettle, a professional stick blender, and half a dozen other lovely gadgets. I also have about 300 cookbooks from the 40s to the 80s.
Skull stuff. I got some holographic skull placemats today. I got a skull kitchen brush yesterday. My kitchen brush that I currently have is fine. It’s not skull shaped though.
Anything German Shepherd. High end (so far) was 18k gold pendant with diamond eye chip. Low end plastic figurines at Dollar store, spray with urethane and use as container garden decor. Back in the day EBay was my bane. I did a search for GSD and fell down the hole…
@naropa@sammydog01 oh yes I have pretty baskets filled with yarn but I really should create something. Too bad I can only knit or crochet the basic simple line, nothing else. One can only make so many scarves. And very boring afghans.
Expensive electronics and camera equipment. Luckily, I haven’t gone too far down the rabbit hole, but it’s starting to build up, and I can see how it might become a problem unless I start getting something out of it.
I have a lot of clothes. I didn’t realize how many until I was moving. And then hearing everyone that helped me move saying… My God, you have a lot of clothes!, kinda made it clear to me.
Highly-rated, deeply discounted digital Xbox games using credit derived from MS Rewards. It’s “free” and usually under $10, so I have a 15+ game backlog that I will likely never get to.
I’d say jackets (I have almost 30), but they all have their specific purposes, and I wear them all at least once a year, so I’m not going to label them impractical.
Parts for the Challenger. There’s not much more impractical than an old car 'less its an old musclecar that you can’t work on until you retire and move to a place with a real garage so you just buy and store parts for until that hallelujah day!
@duodec oooh, how could I forget to include stuff for my 84 Regal and Camaro, currently gathering dust and crud! The former was my grandmother’s…I really need to get to that!
Had a 73 'Cuda. 340 4 bbl Hearst pistol grip shifter. Copper with black striping. Damn how I miss that car…had to trade it in when it started nickel and diming me and I had to hitchhike to work. Good times in the early 80’s
Vinyl, fancy or vintage headphones
I’ve mostly curbed it lately, but I did buy two nice old pairs of headphones recently to Frankenstein together and restore
VMP Mehmbership

@nolrak my purchase is justified!
@RiotDemon sounds like you live in your own halloweentown dream
@reclaimercube it’s getting there!
Hey, I live near Halloween town - it’s no dream, just lame. (At least it’s only one month a year.)
Catshirts.
Pawsome
Candy Corn, online
Funko Pop!s. So addictive.
Pretty much all of the above…
Chocolate–Trader Joes 45% cacao milk chocolate. After tons of dark, I like this, and $.99 for 3.5 oz!
Exercise equipment.
@ConAndLibrarian Not a bad thing if you’re using it.
@ConAndLibrarian Oh, would you do some sets for me? Everything needs work.
Physical music media. I still buy CDs to support artists, but just end up streaming when I want to listen to something.
Robots
Records. Vinyl. Compressed globs of goo that nobody cares about except for people whose apartments smell.
I.R.K.s
@Ignorant you can’t impractically buy something that hasnt been sold yet
@nolrak you haven’t been buying them?
Leather boots.
Dunno if they count as clothes, or fashion accessories. But I always want more.
Free shipping subscriptions to daily deal websites. But Prime is really worth it!
Copious amounts of anything when it’s a really good sale.

@llangley I might find motivation for pics after additional coffee but don’t hold your breath…
@llangley I’m totally holding my breath. Can we at least see the pendant?
@sammydog01 OMG, hope you weren’t serious…if so, someone please tell me the address of Trolls Butte so I can send flowers…
This very closely resembles both my beloved Wolfie and Angel; they’re waiting at The Bridge
Books at yard sales or flea markets, I have enough for a lifetime already. Also junk from Meh.
More books than I can possibly ever read. And a few more for good measure.
Also, discounted chocolate. I’ve got enough for a few years already, but if it’s on sale. . . I can’t resist.
BOCs
Well that was a loaded survey for a Meh audience. Why even offer the other responses?
Beauty products for dry skin.
Books and arts and craft supplies were not a choice.
@naropa They should have been.
/giphy yarn
@naropa @sammydog01 ooooh I love clearance yarn…
@moonhat @naropa I used to bop on over to the craft store with my weekly 50% off coupons and buy yarn. I should probably knit some of it.
@naropa @sammydog01 oh yes I have pretty baskets filled with yarn but I really should create something. Too bad I can only knit or crochet the basic simple line, nothing else. One can only make so many scarves. And very boring afghans.

Irregular socks, which seem like a great buy, but they never ever fit.
Magic TG cards and dice with lots of sides.
I have a lot of clothes. I didn’t realize how many until I was moving. And then hearing everyone that helped me move saying… My God, you have a lot of clothes!, kinda made it clear to me.
Pictures of the impractical jokers
Anything I like and perceive to be high quality. I just like having the best or close to best of any thing.
@evan_kaspar Wow, are you in the wrong place.
@sammydog01 You’re telling me dude. I come here strictly for the writeups. Which are the highest quality I can find on the internet.
@evan_kaspar @sammydog01 they sure are. Love it.

@Kabn Never start PC gaming lol. I have hundreds of games I will never play thanks to Humble Bundle and the infamous Summer Sales.
@JoetatoChip @Kabn Me too! Multiple games for a buck? Sign me up!

Candles
For me it’s shoes, specifically stylish sneakers.
@mrburatti Orange! Any others you want to share?
@sammydog01 Here’s a really cool and comfortable shoe from Patagonia, but unfortunately Patagonia shuttered their shoe division so they’re all unavailable anymore. https://www.ems.com/patagonia-mens-alvah-shoes-canteen/1296353.html
