My daughter has used several CSAs. Not for money saving but for the convenience and because she says if it’s delivered she has to eat it, and thus eats better.
@moonhat fyi this was the small box.
I think i like this. I feel like it is more vegetables and fruit than i would buy myself and it has me inspired. So last night i ate a pear pre date dinner because date was going to be a late dinner. Today I had thai lettuce wraps for lunch (well used up remaining carrots pre box but used lettuce and also put some green beans diced up in it for crunch.
Just grabbed an orange as a snack instead of a cookie.
@CaptAmehrican for 11.50 I’d be thrilled. $23… Eh, not so much so. I like the idea of someone just bringing me stuff and forcing me to use it, but $23 could buy a lot of stuff that I actually want to eat.
I use Imperfect Produce. I appreciate the convenience of “produce delivery” and “upcycling” but these should be the main reasons you consider signing up for it. Cost savings are modest as others have said, and the “green” impact of it is…questionable (delivery trucks to bring you produce isn’t too green).
Well my second box arrived. In the meantime I found out if you skip a box they dont just do it the next week but keep you on the same every other week pattern. So it was a long lag between boxes.
Also 11.50 as someone else signed up with my code and we both got 10 off.

Those avocados are as small as the lemons. Hey large but more normal carrots. Everything else is normal to my eyes.
I always harvest my vegetables by the light of the moon after my neighbor has gone to bed.
@therealjrn so that’s where my tomatoes disappeared to?!
@RiotDemon
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Unfortunately, neither one is available where I’m at. Seems like a good idea. I guess I’ll have to get up and continue to drive to the farmers market.
I use imperfect produce and get much prettier food than they advertised, but the cost savings is also pretty modest.
@williadc Same here, decent produce normal price. Mostly it saves me from having to carry produce 6 blocks from the grocery store.
Occasionally I receive something surprisingly tasty (example: their raisins), and I’m sad that I can’t get more.
Well 1lb carrots is 1 carrot
the grapefruit is green
The onion is huge
Everything else is rather normal
@CaptAmehrican it was 11.49 all told. But that was with a 50% off code
@CaptAmehrican that looks pretty darn good!

I’ve been thinking of joining the imperfect produce thing. The people I’ve heard doing it seem to like it.
@moonhat my first box arrives friday. We shall see. I will let you know.

@CaptAmehrican what is the green thing on the middle left?
@RiotDemon a mango
@CaptAmehrican That’s the only imperfect thing in my opinion.
