@chienfou SOON! Soon … right now my plum trees are absolutely bowed down with fruit so I need to take advantage of that while I can; also roasted green chiles have appeared at the Farmer’s Market so I’ve made 2 batches of pork green chile (yum.) Interesting discovery - I don’t like cilantro much, and I have a lot of mint. I tried using the mint in the chile and it’s good! It just blends in flavorfully and doesn’t stand out as mint!
@Kyeh
That’s cool. I have lots of mint as well. I have heard that to some people cilantro has a soapy taste. Thankfully, I am NOT one of them… I love pico de gallo!
@chienfou First time I ever had Vietnamese food was a restaurant in San Francisco in the 80s. I was convinced that they’d served my food in a dish that wasn’t rinsed properly! Our friends laughed and said “Oh, that’s cilantro.” Ick.
I’ve gotten more used to it and can handle it in some things, but yes, I have that cilantro=soap gene.
@Kyeh
So, for your next vacation I would definitely avoid the Republic of Georgia. When my son deployed there for a NATO exercise a few years back he said they used it A LOT in their cooking. Fortunately he likes the stuff also.
@chienfou Huh! I would never have thought of that as place where it’s used, but sure enough on Google there’s lots of recipes for sauces and salads and such!
Oddly I do like coriander, especially in baked goods.
@Kyeh
Ditto. I was totally floored. Funny thing about cilantro is I associate it with Mexican cuisine, but can’t seem to grow it in the heat of Alabama… so I guess RoG makes sense.
@chienfou I found this: Grow cilantro in full sun, though it will also tolerate light shade in the South and Southwest where the sun is intense. In the South and Southwest, plant in the fall or early spring, about a month before the last frost. Fall is the ideal time to plant in zones 8, 9, and 10 because the plants will last through until the weather heats up in late spring.

@Kyeh
yeah, the trouble is the tomatoes grow when the cilantro starts bolting and giving me coriander. So pico is out unless I buy cilantro when the tomatoes are in or tomatoes when the cilantro is growing!
Just arrived, appears to be brand new in every respect except for a sticker on the outside of the box that says certified refurbished. I bought the 3Vs from the worlds biggest retailer offering delivery for about $160 (2017), so I bought this one to run 2 at the same time, and as a backup. Has vacuumed a single story laminate/tile floored house very well, and with so little effort. Just have to keep it charged, empty the basked, and keep a supply of the filters. This is an absolute bargain. If they come up again, I may just order another one or two for gifts. I don’t program them or use the remote. Maybe one day
I will. Thanks meh!

@castledev Thanks for the review. Was on the fence but gonna buy it now.
I would like this, but I already have a roomba. If only it could mow lawns.
It is a great vacuum. Little loud, but cleans very well! Excellent buy!
Damn, $10 cheaper than the I got in a Mehrathon last month.
@Kyeh
but… did you ever use it??

@chienfou Oh - phooey! I have heard of people chopping up soft herbs and freezing them into ice cube trays, but not the same as fresh, I know.
@Kyeh
that’s true (and also a First world problem) . I’ll just keep buying one or the other as needed and live with it!
