Thanksgiving Dinner, at my Aunt’s house, mid '70s to late '80s when ~25-35 family members would all gather. My family, theirs, Grandma and Grandpa, other aunts and uncles, cousins, the first nieces and nephews…
If I could go back and get a do-over, I’d like to get a crack at the first time I had sex with somebody else there. Best minute and-a-half of my life up to that point.
If I could relive any experience in my life, it would be something that happened just recently. I would go back and click on the link to this poll forum, all over again.
… In my late 30’s I had a vivid dream, I dreampt of four lotto numbers … the final two was to be given as logic and something I had seen many times but the details were blurry, I would just know when it appeared again but I distinctly remembered the four and played them every week with what I hoped would be the complete win… It never came to me but when those numbers appeared in my early 40’s the logic hit hard and the day after - the movie I had seen many times before came on, it was the omega man with Charlton Heston and the logical numbers that I missed was alpha and omega, the 1 and 50… the two most logical numbers of the lotto (first and last)… I won a few bucks but missed the jackpot by one day… had I seen that movie I would have known immediately. Damn!
I would love to relive when I was in the 5th grade and got to be an exchange student to France. Although I really did enjoy myself, I could appreciate a lot more of it now. Oh, and this time I would definitely do it without the rad mullet that I sported last time I went.
Relive as in, re-experience, or as in, go back and change?
If it’s the latter, I mean, geez. I’d probably scrap the whole thing and start from scratch. Especially if I get to tweak my DNA a little in the beginning, modifying the conditions of both nature and nurture.
Interesting question. As mentioned by @katbyter, it really depends… Are we Sam Beckett - able (and expected) to.change the past? Or are we the Al the hologram - observer only?

This question is depressing to me and I’m not sure why…
I can’t really think of a specific day I’d want to relive… Is that because I didn’t do anything worth reliving? I suppose I’d want to relive something that I don’t remember well enough; maybe something from childhood if I can take the memories back to the present with me. If that blurry day doesn’t live up to my expectations, however, I’d feel like I wasted the opportunity on reliving something I recall more clearly. If I go back to relive a day with a friend who has since died, I think it would just make me sad and I wouldn’t enjoy it in the moment. (assuming I had knowledge of the future while reliving it) If I go back to my first time with my first love, is that cheating on my spouse? (you’re my true love, honey) It would probably just be cringe inducing watching my younger, more awkward self.
Ultimately, if I can’t change anything, I guess the past is past and I don’t really see any benefit in doing it over again.
@medz Yeah… if it’s just to relive a happy day or event, I don’t know that I could come up with something in particular. But, there’s a lot of happy days in there. Some, not so much, but plenty are.
I had absolutely no idea how to answer this. Scrolling through the thread I instantly burst into tears. I wish I could go back and hug my dad again before he died.
I wish I could do high school over again. I wasted so much time and effort on all the wrong things. I had some good times, but I wonder where I’d be now if I’d done it all differently.

Since the question IS phrased “relive any experience” I figure we’re talking The Green Mile idea - Heaven as that perfect day? Awfully tricky because it’d always be leaving out some people, or some amazing places.
For now I’m going to say a late '90s Gilbert-and-Sullivan performance at Longwood - would’ve been preceded by the afternoon at least in the gardens and dinner in what was then the Garden Restaurant. That’s me, the female of the species, and the 'rents at least, plus mushroom soup, the orchid room, and twilight at Longwood in late May. The closest I’ve gotten to living a Brian Froud illustration!
Unfortunately that means BEFORE they built one of the world’s greatest restrooms on the site. Sigh! I guess you can’t have it all.

I choose “something from when I was between 2 and 10 years old” because I would like to experience something again for the first time. I don’t know what I would want to experience again for the first time, but I’m thinking most first time experiences happen when you are very young.

If we’re only talking about one day, my wedding was a pretty amazing day. It went fast so I wouldn’t mind getting a replay of it.

I started my twenties a month and a half ago, so I would relive Twin Cities Pride from this Summer, which was my teens.
It would be like reliving déjà vu, all over again.

I can hardly remember any specific time in my life, let alone relive it.
But if do-overs are allowed, I’d drag my teenage self to a psychiatrist. Would have saved me a couple decades of misery.
