Where is the actual “never” option? Some of us never wear jewelry. This poll seems to imply we should all be married at least. And at that should wear a ring. Both are untrue.
I hate when there is absolutely no valid option and I can’t even vote to see the results unless I lie
Does a watch count as jewelry? I wear an analog, non-smart, watch. I will always wear an old-school watch… This has no existential meaning whatsoever, but I thought I’d share.
@moonhat@shahnm I wear one of them, too. Very handy, you can see what time it is just by tilting your wrist, no futzing with getting your phone out. It’s a modern miracle …
@stolicat idk if it counts as jewelery if it actually serves a purpose instead of just being decorative. If you don’t use it to tell time it’s jewelery. If you do for an actual purpose it’s not.
That being said who the hell wears a watch except to try and show off lol. AKA jewelery
@shahnm I have a slim, analog Seiko with my university crest as the face that I received as a gift from my parents for college graduation. Have worn it every time I wear a long-sleeved cuffed shirt (office, church, other ‘dressy’ occasions) since 1985.
I have a bracelet, just one, that I wear most times. It was made by a local jewelry maker with a clever process that utilizes the differing melting points of copper and silver. It changes somewhat as you wear it and different sections of it get polished or rubbed by your clothing and skin. It has a lot of character.
I wear mostly gold. I wear silver sometimes, as well, but not nearly as often. I love my jewelry, and it makes me happy. It’s an innocent obsession, lacking calories or other things dangerous to the health, and having a certain intrinsic beauty.
I could go on for about a hundred paragraphs, but I won’t. Here’s an image of my favorite; it was created using the lost wax method, before even I was born.
Technically I wear jewelry constantly, but not “lots of it!”
I have small captive bead rings in my ears that I don’t take out unless I’m going to wear something fancy, (just means sparkly, really) which is hardly ever.

I have a stack of random rings that I’ll occasionally pick one from to wear when I feel like it.
Same thing with necklaces, sometimes I’ll wear one when the mood strikes.
Occasionally a toe ring or an anklet.
Silver or white gold, or rainbow. Never yellow gold.
That image search has now made me go search for those in my size. My bead is just rainbow titanium to match the hoop, but if I can add sparkle, I might switch them up.
I have a spoon ring from my grandmother that I have worn nearly every day since 6th grade. I have another ring on my right hand that I only picked up at Kohls because I wanted to checkout in a faster line.
@shahnm
no, lol
but gold feels inert, it doesn’t resonate with me (and with a lot of people that I know.)
I wear mostly silver, high quality sterling that yes, I have to clean and remove tarnish. Silver feels right to me.
I will wear white gold, it doesn’t have the ‘right feeling’ of silver, but it doesn’t feel like an inert slab of metal like gold does.
@Darrell2 it’s a waste of money if you have the common sense to manage your money. If you have more money than need it’s just a way to show off that you have more. Too some people
Except it can also be art. Which some people just e joy. And when its art I doubt the materials matter.
@Darrell2@unksol
not all jewelry costs and arm and a leg. while i have statement pieces that could double as art, mostly they are like a cat shirt, or a beer shirt, or a coffee shirt, a statement of me.
every day, but it’s all stainless steel, low profile, and permanent-ish. not really the type of stuff the poll was getting at, i don’t think.
(five point industrial, four point industrial, nape barbell, and seamless lip ring. i also wear stainless spirals in my lobes almost 24/7 - minus the few minutes i take them out in the shower to wash them.)
i do own a handful of fun custom acrylic-on-chain necklaces and might wear one once a month or every other. no rings, bracelets, anklets, etc.
I realized after reading the questions, that apparently I do have “lots of it” and I wear it every day. I would not have thought of it that way until now. I recently resurrected several earring holes that I’d let return to nature for over 10 years or more. I found them mostly intact. I was wearing two earrings in each ear, now it’s 4 in the right ear and two in the left. Plus my 40th birthday ring on my right hand and my FitBit (which is lovely jewelry the way I have it) which only comes off when I shower.
Always something (at home, usually just wedding set). And depends on my mood and the venue. Sometimes a few simple gold pieces. If I’m my old hippie self then it’s multiple necklaces, rings, bracelets and a pair of bigger earrings.

@shahnm I love that! Nobody seems to wear watches anymore and it kind of makes me sad.
@moonhat @shahnm I wear one of them, too. Very handy, you can see what time it is just by tilting your wrist, no futzing with getting your phone out. It’s a modern miracle …

@unksol no, I just wear it to see what time it is, and sometimes the date. Most of the time it’s hiding under the cuff of my shirt or jacket.

@stolicat I like it! But how do you keep it on the ceiling like that?
@lseeber @stolicat
It’s a special anti-gravity bracelet. Must be.
@jst1ofknd @lseeber when I first posted that pic it was right-side-up, then the next day it had mysteriously turned upside-down.I kind of like it …

@Shrdlu Is that what that is? I have a similar piece that was my grandmothers that has sapphires and diamonds in it. Cool.

Most comfortable earrings to sleep in.
Always silver, love sparkle. But only ear rings and in the summer toe rings

But never gold
it has no soul
@Cerridwyn You wear souls as jewelry? Eww…
@Cerridwyn @shahnm I mean they are soul GEMS. And I only trap animals in them to power my magic.
@shahnm
no, lol

Actually while I’m at it, do cuff links count as jewelry? I always thought of them as accessories, but perhaps I’m not giving myself enough credit.
Maybe I should get a pinky ring.
@shahnm you’re so fetch

@reclaimercube @shahnm
Ugh, classic Karen.
I don’t understand the appeal of jewelry. It seems a waste of money to me.

@Cerridwyn @Darrell2 right. Very different than “look at my big shiny diamond” and we all know a cat shirt is high art.

I don’t even have a wedding ring, so once again, I am unrepresented in this poll.
Usually 2 rings, pewter peace sign and gold blue star sapphire. Gold necklace with GSD pendant. Lately I’m also sporting a new feather bracelet.
Tagging @sammydog1 for the pendant pic
@llangley oops @sammydog01
I often screw things up when tagging
@llangley I should probably have left the number off my username. That’s beautiful!
Do rhinestone rim glasses count as jewelry?
If we count body jewelry I guess I wear a fair amount of it every day.

I wore a pocket watch in highschool. God I was cool.
To show my eternal allegiance to Darth Revan’s empire.

This is the only jewelry I wear. It is part of a matching set with my wife’s rings. Apparently matching sets aren’t a thing any more.
do you count a Fitbit and a friendship bracelet?
