How many people lost their steak while the calendar was gone?

Imagine your internet went out at the time you clicked the button, it would spin and might show the face but made no connection to Meh to show that they accepted the click into their database. I think part of that is done with locally run Javascript without the need for a page refresh.

So then you go back later and manually refresh the page and the face isn’t there. You wonder why and the only conclusion is the face eating bot got you. That’s happened to many people. To make sure it doesn’t happen to me again, I always double check on a second computer so I know I will not get a cached page.

i guess i’m not seeing how the calendar plays into keeping your steak. i guess it’s a moo point since the calendar is back now.

@carl669 Because you cannot rely on the button. If it shows the face, you don’t know if it really accepted it or it’s displaying a cached copy of the face.

Looking on the calendar, it still shows a black circle without a face unless it’s accepted in the database. That’s how I knew before that I didn’t press it, there was a face missing in the calendar.

@carl669 @cengland0 Also if you are not logged in (sometimes meh logs you out) and you click the face appears. But if you come back to the page later it will be gone. That is another way you can lose your click.

That’s a clever thought. But it would require @snapster/@dave to suspend Meh irreverence (“a streak is a streak, fucker”) for crash commercialism.

Perhaps the irreverence could be preserved by casting it a ”bribe”/“pay to play” scheme.

It would also be an added VMP benefit, with the advantage of funding itself.

@Asviloka So you can’t see the calendar because you won’t click for seven days in a row but you need to see the calendar to make sure you don’t click more than seven days in a row.
