@Kyeh not that I know of!! I can play some guitar (or at least I used to be able to ) but never tried a ukulele. Shouldn’t be TOO hard, though, right??? Congrats on your purchase — I’ll let you know if I pull the trigger on this!
@Kyeh@llangley yep, I would recommend it. It’s easier than guitar. After I got my wife’s and she liked it so much, I bought myself a Les Paul acoustic/electric uke to play with her. Unfortunately I don’t keep up with it like she does.
When my kids were little, I sort of used the Field of Dreams philosophy of ‘if you build it, they will come’…but it was ‘if you surround them with instruments, they will want to learn’ And it actually worked! Most kids are just naturally drawn to making music, and if they have real instruments that they can touch and explore with, I truly feel like it has a big effect on their desire to know more. Music is such a wonderful gift!
Despite my total lack of playing anything, my living room is now filled with the instruments my kids have learned to play and continue to enjoy at home and at school. They are between 17 and 23 now, and we have accumulated 5 acoustic guitars, 2 electric guitars, a bass guitar, a violin, a viola, a flute, a piano, a keyboard, 5 ukuleles, a mandolin and some small drums, lol!
And it all started with a ukulele! So if you’re on the fence, my advice is get it!

In for one. I couldn’t resist despite the fact that I have 5 already, (1 soprano, 2 concert and 2 tenors). I do not even really play, (my kids do)!
But I’m a sucker for musical instruments, and I keep thinking I’ll learn someday when I have time.
The concert size is a nice size, so I have no regrets. I will likely give this to a kid who seems like they are interested in learning to play.
I want to get a baritone size at some point to see if it hits that sweet spot between a Uke and a guitar. My hands are too weak on a regular acoustic, so I just keep working my way up in Uke sizes.

@llangley Do you know how to play one already? I don’t but I’ve been wanting to try and I sprang for one on Sidedeal last week.

@llangley Oh, you’re still just thinking about it? @djslack had some encouraging things to say in this thread:

My 3.5yo found a Ukulele during Thanksgiving and was walking around the house strumming on it… and her favorite color is purple. Oh boy…
@abamon81 did you get it?

Ordered 3 of them, did not get a discount on the IRK… I assume I will just get a refund later then?
