It seems like the sort of weirdly specific one-function item that would end up here. Except it seems like it should have a face, and cartoony hands pressing the s’mores down.
@Kidsandliz A microwave s’more is okay. I don’t trust this particular nonsense, but I’ll make a microwave s’more and not be mad about it. S’mores from a camp fire are obviously best. S’mores from a charcoal grill are somewhere in between. But it’s not like I won’t eat steak if it’s not grilled over an open flame. That’d just be silly. Likewise why would I deny myself the tolerable goodness of a microwave s’more or indeed the unique pleasure of nuking a marshmallow or peep?
I do confess to almost never eating SPAM when not camping. SPAM needs the extra help tho. A s’more does not.
@joelmw For me much of the appeal of a s’more is the campfire, the toasting (or flaming torch if I get it too close…), and the company around the campfire.
@unksol thanks for posting that…it was funny because it’s true! I think a plate would do the same thing…
As I mentioned above, we have only used ours like 2 or 3 times because my little girl enjoyed the novelty…but retail was $50 dollars? No way!! I sure hope the friend that gifted it to my daughter didn’t pay more than $5!
Oh yeah…another thing about the video that’s accurate is that it makes a big crumbly mess when you bite into it. I’m not a huge fan of s’mores and I definitely don’t want to wear one.
I have one. My daughter got it as a birthday present about 5 years ago and we have used it a total of about 3 times. It isn’t horrible, but I agree with @kidsandliz …it definitely doesn’t do a ‘real’ s’more justice. No browning at all when you nuke a marshmallow. The graham cracker doesn’t get soggy (probably because it only takes like 20 seconds to cook). It’s a cute novelty that does work, but it takes up cabinet space and will be heading to Goodwill in the not too distant future.
No no no no no. JUST NO!!! Marshmallows need to toasted to a golden brown over a camp fire. That is not going to happen in the microwave.
@Kidsandliz
I agree - although the s’mores mystique is a bit lost on me; but I didn’t grow up camping a lot.
Looks like it’d just lead to some soggy-ass graham crackers

@joelmw For me a s’more is about the campfire, the toasting to get it prefect and the occasional mess up resulting in a flaming torch,
I’d buy that for $8!
I knew I’d seen that before. Took me a second
/youtube sorted food smores

@k4evryng their delivery got better that one was a little eh.

@k4evryng Or stick it in a Mehtizen exchange, if you do one…
If it’s something pointless or stupid, or just plain junky, then the answer is probably yes…
