As we’ve come to expect from Reese’s they didn’t disappoint. M&Ms seemingly cracked under pressure as Reese’s completely claims this round and move on to the final round. Reese’s peanut powered offense is just nuts and not brittle at all. Will Reese’s be stopped? Can they be stopped or will Reese’s win it all?
On the other side, it was a bit more sporting as Snicker’s faced an unexpected Twix no one saw coming including Snicker’s. Despite all that Snicker’s had to offer they failed to satisfy. In a major upset while it was close Twix holds on to move on to the second round. Twix is expected to be a severe underdog in the next round.

@daveinwarsh I have to admit that I wasn’t sure that Oh Henry! bars were even still made. After Googling it, I see that the Canadian version of Oh Henry! (slightly different) are sold in some parts of the US (including near me) as the resurrected Rally bar brand. I remember them cropping back up about 5-7 years ago

As a side-bar to this whole candy run-off, while the final four was about what I expected, I found it a little surprising that the fruit-flavored candies were all KO’d so easily by the chocolates. While the older generation does favor chocolate, its been my observation that the younger generation overwhelmingly prefers the fruit-flavored candies (Skittles, Starburst, Sour Patch Kids, Jolly Ranchers, etc.). Occasionally, an NBA or MLB team will poll its players and publish their responses in a video on social media, and sometimes not even a single player will mention a chocolate candy bar. Chocolate isn’t even on their radar.
My side-job is teaching at a community college, and by casual observation, Skittles is the landslide favorite among the students. Now that I look closer, Skittles wasn’t even in the showdown.

This tournament should be expanded into a 32 candy field. Baby Ruth, Skittles, Peppermint Patties, Junior Mints, Twizzlers & Whatchamacallit all could have made some noise as dark horse candy-dates. Hell, lets make it a 64 team bracket.

@greenroomjah @RiotDemon @tinamarie1974 I love that lingonberry syrup- I add it to club soda. We don’t have an Ikea here but sometimes I’m out of town near one. Possibly even tomorrow. I have a shelf full of dryck lingon but I might pick up a few Daims if I make it.

@greenroomjah @RiotDemon @tinamarie1974 THEY HAVE CHOCOLATE CAKE? Actually I went a couple of weeks ago and stock was really low on a lot of stuff, especially food. It kind of surprised me.

If I go with my mom she likes to have lunch and we always split a slice. It is delicious decadence.
Also stock seems to be low lots of places. That was one of the challenges I faced trying to find a new leash for the pup. My local PetSmart/Petco was sparsely stocked. Maybe 1/4-1/3 of the isle had product (collars and leashes) said it had been that way since covid hit.

Used to eat these in Norway as a kid. I’ve been importing them from eBay because it was cheaper than buying them from the scandinavian importer I normally use. When I saw them at IKEA the last time I was there, I was shocked at how cheap they were. I bought so many that I still have a couple a year later.
The chocolate is so much better than the Heath and Skor bars.
