I would love to pick your brain on this kind of stuff, one question for now(sorry meant two). looking for the best bang for the buck single 18650 flashlight with a throw and flood. Also would love to find a 3 power setting up to 85 watt HID flashlight/torch that I can change from flood to real tight and long range or somehow convert mine to be able to do that.
@kadagan Especially if it had a built in plug-in fast charger to recharge it quickly. Too many of these take longer to recharge than they take to charge a phone or tablet.
@kcface I have a Ravpower branded one and it works on my small car when the battery was just low enough it wouldn’t start the car. It struggled but got there. If the battery is completely dead it doesn’t seem to work.
I also have one of those bigger jump boxes that has the big jumper cable clamps on it and that thing works awesome. Can start my car anytime even without the car battery attached. I’d recommend one of the big chunky ones if the space it takes up isn’t a problem.
@kcface Yes and they really do work. It’s incredible that such a small battery actually does start the car. The one I have has a relay in the cables to make sure you cannot do something stupid like shorting out the clips or hooking it up backwards.

I usually buy at least one power bank every time they roll around. We live out in the country, and random power outages aren’t all that uncommon, even in good weather. Power banks are nice for when we don’t think it’ll be out for long and don’t want to fire up the generator or go out to the cars just to charge our phones.
Things like this my wife wouldn’t question if I bought because she has little idea what they are and I could always make up a reason these were different than the other 5 that I already bought (ie more compact, more power etc). She wouldn’t remember the specs of the ones I previously purchased.

I received the blue 10k backup yesterday. After a full charge, it failed to fully charge my phone before depletion. my phone only has a 3500 capacity. really bummed about this. charging again to see if the 2nd times a meh.
I’ve only put mine through a very easy test (plug in… Cool, my phone says it’s charging!) but so far it appears to be working just fine.
I picked the red color, which turns out to be more like a magenta-ish pink. Not quite what I was expecting, since it looked more like a fire-engine red in the picture. But still, that’s a really tiny complaint. I think I’m confident enough in my identity to be a dude with a pink phone battery, as long as it works.
I’ll plug my tablet into it overnight. If anything appears horribly wrong by morning, I’ll respond to my own post here. Otherwise, assume “yup, it’s a pretty normal battery pack”.
When my phone was plugged in, the indicator lights flash on and off. Unplug the phone, they keep flashing. Push the power button, and all the lights come on, and then they start flashing. It takes 2-3 minutes to stop flashing. Is it just me?
I must say, the box within a box within a sleeve makes the product look more high end. Nicer for a gift.

@Tom I wouldn’t count on it. So far, the hold backs have just been on total quantity (roughly 5%), not quantity of each specific item.
