Sometimes when I'm up late at night watching the forums and the sleep madness starts to creep in weird contests and things that we can do on the forums start popping into my head.
I managed to find a couple more Fuku boxes tucked away in the farthest corners of the warehouse among the crumpled up bags of chips, Roombas, horse masks, and speaker docks (and promptly filled Fukus with those things).
I've decided to run a contest to give them away and the best part is that everyone already entered and winners have been selected! Maybe "contest" isn't the right word for this, actually it's not at all the right word but that's what I'm going with because, ya know, sleep madness and all.
Maybe you used the correct number of vowels in your post, maybe you went the right number of words before using any punctuation, maybe it appeared to me in a fevered night terror, maybe you said the secret code phrase, maybe it was just totally random...but however you did it, you "won"! Throwing this crap away is your problem now. Just to be clear, you aren't special. You're getting the same junk as these other suckers (so cheer up).
You'll know you've won when you see a pile of trash in a box show up at your door. And before you ask, no I still won't tell you how or why you won. It'll be funny to see what guesses people come up with though.
I'm on my way out to the warehouse to put together more Fukus now. Hopefully I can finish packing these dozen extras up with garbage before I get dragged kicking and screaming out of the warehouse by @snapster's jackbooted thugs for going off script.
I'm not claiming to have any inside info but exactly one dozen posts have complimented @JonT on his beard. That's exactly the number of these bonus Fukus. Just pointing that out for everyone.

@JonT My guess is that your methodology involved haruspicy of a goat, spokestroll or sock puppet. In fact, I've kinda always wondered about Irk--like maybe that's been done to him before and he "lives" in some sort of undead, more-or-less rejuvenating stasis.

The servers suck. It took for ever but I got one. It took for ever but I did not get one. I did not try and now they are sold out. Many tabs open and none worked. The time is too early The time is too late. This is BS. My group should have special access. "email them and complain", I have to stop, that is too funny.
Anyway if everyone hates Fubu so much maybe Meh should stop selling it. Or maybe if the users hate Fubu so much they should not try.

I just think its funny that when @snapster owned the original site, the servers would crash all the time. They would give you advance warning, they would tell us that all hell would be breaking loose and we would all line up, hit F5 till our fingers were broken, while trying to get a BOC. There would be winners and losers, plenty of bitchers and moaners along with gloaters and poor sports. Then there would be those that were happy to get their 1st one or the 15th in a row. But the bottom line was, it was ALL about the chase.
With all of the Bags sold last night, there were still unhappy people, which means, business is good and this new little site is starting to grow up and grow up fast. Those unhappy people will be back, tonight, looking for the next good deal. Hell, this week, I bought T shirts, Power Cords, Emergency Road Kits and lucked out with a Bag last night. There is a reason I come back everyday, and that reason is Glen, no, I mean because I like what I see here, speaker docks or not, I'm looking here everyday for the next good deal. It doesn't matter if it's another drinking cup or Roomba, the products are interesting and different and that's why I like it around here, it's different. I love the forums too.

Btw meh, thanks for keeping me up an extra hour last night trying to see if it had gone through! That's okay, I'm EST and I only had to get up at 5:20. Four hours is a perfectly reasonable length of time to sleep, right? I never saw any confirmation that it went through and finally gave up waiting for the site to come back so I could check my orders. That was about 1:15 am. Woke up, immediately checked my orders to find competent-spectacular-dog at 12:06 am. Maybe the problem is that I'm a cat person?

Somehow I scored one at 12:02, but didn't know that until I checked my bank 20 minutes later. Hubby scored one at 12:33, but again, had to check the bank to confirm it. So let the bitching begin! The Three Stages of Bitching: 1. I didn't get one!!! 2. Why is it taking so long!?! 3. I hate the stuff I got!!!
@Teripie You could bypass stage three by wrapping your unopened fuku and gifting your favorite frenemy ;) You'd still get any 'other' item that showed up later.
@duodec I've never complained about a Fukubukuro or a BOC. They've alwys been well worth the money, even if it's only in the fun of waiting for them. (Fuku's are awesome compared to BOCs.)
I just found Meh yesterday. At midnight, on my Android, I had to type in all my card & address info s.l.o.w.l.y, reassure Meh that I really did want one, and wait. Green bars, more green bars... Went to my laptop, tried to buy one. Not allowed, said Meh, you already bought one. Back to green bars. Back to laptop; my credit card said I bought one. Good enough for me, I went to bed. It's not nearly as bad as the historic Woot server crashes, but the howls are just as much fun. I'm delighted; it's a moral victory, and there are so few of those around.
That fuku purchase brought back great memories of what it used to be like buying a BOC before the antechamber and things to hide the 503 and other errors came along.
It may sound strange, but I actually enjoyed that... RDP'd to my work machine and had seven windows open in various browsers from both home and work machines with three sessions doing the refreshing green bar thing and the others trying to check my order status or get to the buy button.
I got the fuku at 12:07, but had no confirmation of it until 12:34... saw the charge confirmed on my CC before the meh orders page even came up (at one point, the page came up with no orders).

I tried for years to get a BOC. But the god's were not with me. So when my alarm went off at 10:59 last night and I was able to get on and click the Buy button my heart fluttered for a moment. Then another browser let me click the BUY button too. Could it be that tonight was going to be THE night? After watching the green bar go back and forth for 20 minutes it told me that I couldn't buy it because................. I HAD ALREADY BOUGHT ONE!!!! I feel somehow more complete today as a person. I like trying for Fukus. It is a neat little sport that sends me on a crazy emotional rollercoaster for 5-20 minutes and then it ends. I was lucky enough to have snagged one this time, but when I miss them I still enjoy the sport of trying.
Holy Moly! I'm at a Conference in Chicago and made it back to my room just minutes before the magical "new item" time. I was SUPPOSED to be preparing my presentation, but randomly clicked over to Meh at 11:00 and spotted the prize! Immediately clicked the magical button, watched it load and load and load for ages, then it returned to the main page. Argh! I clicked again and after a while it told me "something went wrong." Tried another browser, same thing. Gave up assuming it had sold out. Got up this morning and there it is in my order list. HOORAH!!!!

Ok kids. Gather around I have a story about my adventures in scoring a Fukubukuro 3 last night. First, I get layed off from my job on Wednesday or I may not even have been up at 11PM CST to see it. Secondly, I had activated a new American Express card Friday, and my card had a new security code. So I checked meh.com at 11PM on my Windowsphone. Holy shit, Fuku 3! Refresh, refresh, repeat. Finally I press buy the sucker. Refresh, refresh, repeat. Error. Damn old security code. Enter Amex number again with new code. Wait 4 digit code from front or 3 digit code from back like Mastercard. Enter 4 digit, hit buy. Wait. Something terribly wrong. So then I enter my Mastercard number and security code. Error- You already purchased one. All the time of course I'm battling server errors, which are the fault of one @cengland0. I finally got to check my orders page and low and behold, bleary-limping-screwdriver, as of 11:16 PM CST! Whew. And all of this on a flipping Lumia 920 Windowsphone. I know, TL:DR Thanks meh.

@bolashoof Santa came early for you, mine still doesn't show for days! Much less going on compared to the last Fuku bag, but that's cool we can't expect a legit speaker dock in every bag for only $5. I could use a leak frog, hope I get one! If you look at your tracking number how much does the FedEx page say your box weighted and the box dimensions? Share that so some of us can guesstimate if we have the same coming, even though that may not be accurate.

Mine went through right at 12:00 am and my husband's went through at 12:03. Great job, Meh! Sorry everyone else is so busy complaining and stomping their feet. I couldn't get anything to load afterward, but I figured it was because people were just hitting refresh over and over and making it worse, so I decided to wait until they gave up to come back and thank you all for the great experience. The Meh team is awesome, as always!

I don't mind the difficulties in getting a fukubukuro. For me, the challenge to get one is a large part of the fun. If everything runs smoothly, you don't waste as much time, but then the excitement and anticipation is also short-lived.
I managed to get one. If I hadn't, there would have been disappointment, but I would have still enjoyed the attempt.

I awoke assuming another defeat. BUT I noticed 5 bucks missing from my account today, logged into meh to be rewarded with the glorious red icon of victory in my previous purchase menu! Never quit, even under fire ATW!
She is 24x20x19 inches and a whopping 19.7 lbs. I was expecting delivery tomorrow, but it looks like she was premature and waiting for me when I got home from work tonight.

@khunjeff Same here, but finally got the My Orders page and it looks like it went through. Double-checked my credit card, and it does look like it was charged. So... should we expect a confirmation email at some point? I just feel weird about it since I never saw an order confirmation page.
@MapleSyrup to my knowledge they don't do confirmation emails still. They might in the future. I checked my card and I was billed too, so I'm pretty sure we're in.

@Trin Because you're not considering the fuku as a lucky bonus. Instead you're looking at it as the the primary reason to be a VMP. Use that VMP as expected, on loads of cheap, worthless crap that you'll never need.

@bakerzdosen yeah, I had green bars going in 2 different browsers, finally I gave up.. Probably 30 minutes of waiting, and I was sad.. Then once the site started responding again I checked my orders just in case, and to my overwhelming delight (er.. Meh.) I found that I got one!
@shawn I'm not going to say he's definitely a robutt (how Zoidberg pronounces the word), but it sure seems that someone is running a script that looks for instances of colours and posts that particular comment as a reply. Pretty sure there is some human interaction behind the account as well, however, but I would be highly surprised if said human actually was reading through every post and replying seemingly without fail to any colourful posts.
I was repeatedly told that something went terribly terribly wrong, but in the end (after 45ish minutes of refreshing, evil green bar mocking and getting that song stuck in my head...) my order went through! Now I is sad, last night I had managed to snag 2 bags (didn't know how the meh gods let that slip through but I got all excited!), I was billed on my credit card for both but now my 2nd bags invoice has dissapeared from my orders page but im still (currently showing on my card anyways) paying for the 2nd bag. :(

Well, I was able to hang on long enough to get a Fukubukro (when I was finally able to see what was for sale).
I was kind of hoping it was another deep fryer for ten bucks. I really wanted a deep fryer. Lots of people wanted a deep fryer. I've got a deep fryer, but it would be nice to make more than a dozen potato chips at a time.
It was nice, though, to score the fukubukuro. I like the bag. I'll carry that bag with pride. I promise.
Got mine pretty quickly, then stayed up an extra 45 minutes to help my Mom get one- since she raved about the last one. Heartfelt-queenlike-chicken. Brace for disappointment, Mom!

@editorkid Actually, that's one of the reasons I miss the days you had to choose one, two, or three bags on Woot. Choosing three really got you a better bag, but added that little extra risk. But I'm a gambler and that gamble always paid off for me.
@KDemo I only know that all of my previous Meh orders (all paid with AMEX) show up as STRIPE. But looking into it further, Stripe is a payment processing company that charges 2.9% + $0.30 on all credit/debit transactions. If the buyer is using an AMEX card, whose fees are generally higher than Visa/MC, it could be cheaper to use Stripe versus other companies. Meh could be selectively routing only AMEX-based payments through Stripe, while routing Visa/MC/debit transactions through a different payment processor that charges lower fees. Or this could all be pointless speculation :-P
@root Amex is just not correctly reading the store name versus processor name with stripe on initial authorizations - they need to fix but it does show correctly on actual statements (I believe)
Turns out one of my attempts went through, although I never got (or noticed, anyway) a confirmation screen. Since I didn't get a conf, I kept trying again & again...realized, too, that one benefit of email receipts is that you tend to know for sure that you've bought something. Thank goodness or whatever that these things are coming. That's my story & I'm sticking to it.

My question is, how did people not see this coming from a mile away? They had the newsletter, there was a forum post talking about the theme song, etc. It was practically guaranteed to happen this week. I was expecting it to be today, but with the caveat of being $15, and being bundled with a speaker dock.
Never got a BOC, got my first Fuku though! Couldn't get confirmation for an hour, but my bank account said Meh took $5 from me... and finally saw confirmation this morning. Phew.

@Santo In my case it meant I got one. A lot of people keep refreshing/spamming multiple windows while it is best to just let it play out. I bought at 11 even charged at 11:03 couldn't get to order page to verify until after 11:30. My green bar vanished and kicked me back to main page around 11:10 but it went through. Best of luck!

welp, my order was processing with infinite green bar, and now something went so terribly terribly wrong, not even the swiftest click can refresh before that video plays.
Got to the screen when only 37 were sold, but after clicking "Buy" all I got as a white screen. Logged on again when 485 were sold and all I got for 45 minutes was the damn moving green line, until sold out. They are going to have some problems sorting out who was successful however since my debit card was charged three times but I never received the confirmation of the purchase. That was almost as bad try to secure tickets for San Diego's Comic Con which sells out 40,000+ tickets in about 10 minutes when sales go on line

ugggghhhh! I'm trying to shop! Please sell stuff. I hate these bags. I've read threads about them which all demonstrate that they are full of junk, people freak out about it and break the site, and then after the dust settles in a few minutes, there's nothing for sale all day long. Sigh.
@Lera I would recommend you do not buy one because, like you said, it will probably contain nothing but junk. You shouldn't have any high expectations on receiving anything good at all. With that said, that leaves one more bag for the rest of us.
@cengland0 oh nonono, I'm not being clear. I don't want the junk bag. For whatever reason, that bug has never bitten me, though I see other people going absolutely bananas over these bags both here and on Woot. I just mean here on meh a whole day will be wasted with no actual product available for me to shop. The five minutes the bag is available for those who want to try for it pass quickly, and then there are just... tumbleweeds for 24 hours. I wish they could offer the bag next to a real product that's available for everyone to buy. But maybe that takes away from whatever benefit they get from the bags of junk.
@Lera My two cents, for whatever that's worth. Generally speaking, you pay $5 for a FUKU and you receive more than $5 worth of stuff. Perhaps some of it is not something you want or need but it is always nice to receive a surprise in the mail. Every BOC and FUKU I've received, I always got items I didn't want and had no problem finding a good home (re-gifting) for them. It makes other people happy to receive random items and it makes me happy to give it to them. That's definitely worth the $5 it costs.
@Lera If they didn't do this occasionally the Meh offices and warehouse would swell up and explode with all of the crap that didn't sell or crap that they find on the way to work, or while walking down the street or whatever they find in the dumpsters while diving.
Soooo, never got a boc, or a fuku, and from reading this thread, it seems the very meh-est of the meh talent seems to have not made the cut (a true hallmark of meh-ness) and have brought their own brand of customer service suckitude with them when the coding was done for the fukus.
At least code up a lottery with a timeout and just let people know they entered, lost and can try again in a hour. Easy peasy. Even a meh chimp could code up something like that for a far better user experience and transparency and fairness, not just those with 4 PC and 45 windows each in privacy mode scripted to auto-refresh when the fuku-nee-boc event triggers.
I'm more than happy to send my Lincolns to a website more interested in parting me from them than being smug about tautologous mediocrity. Or a website in search of a pivot man.
@editorkid I can understand it if Fukus are a form of "load testing", but how many utter and complete failures do they really need to determine they have a problem and try a different soution?
I set my alarm at 12 for the past month hoping to score a bag. Finally it paid off (I hope). Page loaded kinda quick, I was stuck at checkout for about 5 minutes and told me something went wrong try again, all disappointed it tried and it erred saying I already ordered one. Then I couldn't sleep wondering if one was actually ordered or if that error message was wrong. By 12:30 it showed in my orders. :)
I laid in bed, eagerly awaiting 11:00. Would I find my next Christmas present for family!? My heart stopped beating as I pressed reload and waited for the page to show me the wonder. I nearly had a heart attack as I saw it, a Fukubukuro bag. Flashbacks to all the missed mysteries on woot and the bag I missed on meh raced through my mind. Acting on instinct, I had trained for this, I bought it and raced through the purchase screen. Did it work!? I can't log into my account! My racing heart was finally sated by the notification in my email confirming my purchase.
@aradem My experience would have been far less eventful if I did not watch a progress bar load and reload for five minutes and not experience the stress of wondering if the object of my desires was mine or not!

Well....after getting a green loading bar forever...way too many times to count and it saying something went terribly wrong, it eventually sold out. Then I got the bright idea to check my credit card statement online...hmmm...$5 meh purchase. Tried to check order status and page refused to load. Checked order status today...and voila! Got one! Somewhere in that mess, even though it never showed a completed order page, my order went through. Happy days are here!!!

Ah man, it's just like the old days in here! In contrast to everyone else, the only lag I experienced was in loading the main page. After that, everything was instant. I was even able to request the email confirmation. T'was nice.

I faced the fun of clicking and clicking and getting error message after message. I got to the page to pay, and clicked the buy tab over and over. Eventually I got a "we don't have anymore" message. So I went to bed with the thought that I had not obtained A fuku. I went back the next day and looked at my orders tab and behold! the order had gone through the first time (although it never gave me a confirmation). So here's to getting my first fuku box, I'm crossing my fingers with the hopes that it will contain something They Might Be Giantsy since it was theme song day as well and I love me some TMBG. @meh The USPS tracking number only works after the FedEx tracking page says "Shipment information sent to U.S. Postal Service". So you got the expected result for a package that FedEx hasn't processed yet. Send halp an email about the package not getting to FedEx yet. (Don't expect an answer right away, they are a little behind.)

@wyk3d are you sure those are charges, or are they thirteen $1 authorizations for each of your attempts? It usually takes a couple days after the transaction date for it to post to a credit card.
@DaniDew Not for me, it's a autocharge on your method of payment at same time every month. When I first signed up I was charged $5 right away in a seperate charge. Didn't get the "free month" to cancel like people were saying in the orginial announcement thread/FAQ for it.
@BabyBear I recently had to change my credit card on file to a new one... But meh did it just fine... Unless it stored my old credit card for VMP purposes, and when it failed, it just canceled my VMP membership. That's so weird... I should've at least been notified.
@BabyBear Strange. I did see on the VMP info page it should auto enroll every month. But for some reason the last purchase I made before this one asked me to resign up!

When I got here third in line.. punched the buy saw the green line enough times to be mezmorized then that damn song over and over (in my mind) then I looked and it turned into #584.. I tried my damndest to be 585 but then, well that damn song came back and I had to go pee then a blank screen.. Damn, do I have to keep going? I could you know for another hour or so but then came #1045 and suddenly everything started working like a charm so I went back and saw.. Well the rest is history.. For the entire time I was trying to spend my Lincoln I felt like a turd in a swimming pool with all that meh avoidence.

I was on my old HP Touchpad and I thought maybe it was having a hard time connecting, so I booted up the computer. Same problem. I had two browsers going, both on Meh. One would work (I could order one, then the green bar just kept refreshing over and over) and the other would get the "there's a problem" (I muted it). It took me over an hour of clicking, then it was sold out. The only reason I even knew I'd gotten one was I checked my credit card account. I figured "it has to sell out sooner or later, I'm not quitting until I know it's gone." Because you never ever walk away from one of these thinking it will be there tomorrow. It won't be. Those deep fryers. They sold out in twenty minutes. And those are the only reason I check when the new product comes up.
@hallmike Woot refurb. It came up in the morning, DH said I couldn't have it, it sold out. We had a cat who's kidneys finally gave out, took him to the vet, said goodbye, came home, Woot had found more. I got my Touchpad. 32GB. I sure miss Benny, though, he was an awesome kitty.

@lisaviolet I have sort of a similar story to yours, not involving Woot though. My first and only dog, Angel, that I raised from a puppy -- we were the best friends ever -- got massively sick and I had to take out a loan for the vet bills and she didn't make it. I had to say goodbye at the dog hospital, and when I got home that day I had a package. It was a CR-48, Google's prototype Chromebook. Turns out I got selected in the developer program, and was one of the last shipments -- I had given up hope. Didn't help much at first, (and actually using it reminded me of that awful day) but later it kind of saved my life.
It was like the old days of woot....long waits....F5, F5, F5.....something went wrong....and then....victory!!! Only better since it happened at midnight eastern time and not 1 am!!!!

@kuoh Yeah, Smartpost, but my PO is usually really good at processing them when they come in over night and get them out same day. Sadly the FedEx tracking on smartpost seems to have a 6+ hour delay in updates, the package is usually at my door before the tracking even updates to 'transferred to post office' lol.

Didn't think I got in on FUKU 3 but super happy today to receive a meh-box with a lovely red bag tucked into the top !! So yea fedex smart post officially blows more than ever. Took 3 weeks to get my iPhone cords now fukubukuro bag has been with fedex for 2 weeks and hasn't moved in 6 days and counting. In the past couple days my Amazon orders came in on time and even 13 deals was faster. Look like my meh days are over. No sense ordering when fedex sits an their asses for weeks on end.

Still nothing showing on FedEx and no update on tracking info. It's been 7 full business days (assuming ship date was Dec. 31st and ignoring 1/1 as it's a holiday) since they were shipped. It typically takes 6-10 business to receive my orders from Meh.
Just a friendly update with what I've been thinking about. Have you guys gotten/heard anything yet?

I think Jon's most recent comment (Last Friday 1/30/15) is related to the shipment @meh said she was getting, but then got removed (1/19/15). @Hart responded saying those were pulled. I think that is the same thing JonT is referencing. On valentines day (1/14/15) will mark 3 months since the order was placed. It would be swell if @snapster or someone other than cx service would chime in on this to re-boost our assurance that this is really being handled. An explanation as to why it takes over 60 days to handle 5 missed orders. A customer service tip from my experience as a manager at an ISP. Admit the mistake, explain what happened to cause the mistake, and the steps being taken to prevent these mistakes from happening in the future. Build back our confidence. Just my two cents.

We bring our own insights, ideas, and even mistakes to the project. On top of that, we're a young company and growing fast. When you're growing fast, sometimes things slip through the cracks. This was one of them. I'm going to drop what I'm doing and work on this for you now. It's unfair that you guys have had to wait this long, and I'm so sorry. Hopefully, the Fuku will be worth the wait.

@hart Well I got mine today, and I was afraid this would happen. I had been waiting for my Kickstarter fuku since July, but what I got today was a duplicate of Fuku 3, which I actually did get back in November. So, yet another Meh bag, creature cup, Y-splitter and 2-Pac shot glass, plus 2 other items. I was really hoping for something that would make the six month wait worthwhile, but Meh breaks my heart again, and right before Valentine’s Day. Actually, today is Friday the 13th, so that part is appropriate.
@Trillian That's disappointing to hear. I am still waiting for my fuku 3 from November. Was hoping it would be something fabulous to make up for the wait. Like maybe a TV or Roomba, neither of which I have. Ah well, another fuku bag it will be.

@meh Finally got my Fuku #3 today, which was pretty much a box of meh. Iced coffe/tea maker was the largest item, but since I don't drink either I'll be donating to my friend's charity auction. Got the Y splitter thingy, Fuku bag, flat water bottle, creature mug, several bags of Texas air and big ass knife. The thing that scares me about the knife is that it has an "As Seen On TV" logo.
@meh Ouch! Anyway, I received: 2 pack Contigo Shake and go cups. Vapur flat water bottle, Creature Cups with a pelican in it. y splitter, and Awkward Famly Photos Book. My wife is sure happy about those cups. And we used the collapsible water bottles for travel so we're pretty happy. Not worth 3 months of wait time, but definitely worth the fuku purchase.

@Bogie Oh I wasn't trying to make excuses for him. Just saying there could've been other reminder opportunities before right now. Having patience is commendable, but too much of it can also backfire.

It's bad business to promise something to customers then not deliver. But to never respond back to the customer who keeps asking about it is just wrong. It takes 10 seconds to post "This isn't going to happen". Then it can be done, book closed, over with.
[Rant] This started because about 6 of us didn't get a product we ordered(Fuku #3). It took Meh.com almost 3 months to get this sorted out and the issue resolved. An agent of Meh.com then offered something with a time frame without any prompting from the customers effected. We were just happy that meh.com rectified the issue. This offering from the agent was offered freely, I presume, an apology to "make things right".
The agent has now set an expectation, and has for 7 months completely ignored the customer(s).
In the beginning I was just being a good guy making sure that we were getting what I paid for. You can read through this thread to see that I was kind and civil through the whole ordeal. Now, though, I'm not letting it drop. I don't want to be ignored, if not for me, but for the rest of those that don't want to have to deal with it. I'll continue to follow up every once and a while to remind them that we wont be forgotten.
I want to clarify to, that I don't expect to receive any type of physical goods, and I'm perfectly okay with that. I just want this situation to be acknowledged, and for someone from the company to see that it's bad business to make empty promises to their customers. I just want someone from Meh to tell me/us that this isn't going to happen, as I have said multiple times before.
@Bogie There is a lot to this whole situation and I could go into the specific reasons behind why this hasn't been done (and still can if you really want that), but I feel that they'd mostly just seem like excuses at this point.
We've shipped out those something extras as of today.
@JonT Um, there really was 7 of us. Truly. I've been good, real real quiet, real real quiet, like not said a single word about it. For 7 very, very long months. So did mine, finally, ship out today with lots of those there extras?
I'm also waiting on delayed Fuku #3 items. My initial shipment showed up, with a letter, but nothing else since then. My Fuku #4 may end up arriving first!
@packer ONce again, got up at 5:00 in the morning and all gone. Getting to be routine. Perhaps, you could limit sales on a per hour basis when you know you are likely to sell out?

I would have convinced myself to stay awake for 15 minutes more for the next hours worth, prompting me to stay awake until the page loaded. Sometimes when I'm up late at night watching the forums and the sleep madness starts to creep in weird contests and things that we can do on the forums start popping into my head.
I managed to find a couple more Fuku boxes tucked away in the farthest corners of the warehouse among the crumpled up bags of chips, Roombas, horse masks, and speaker docks (and promptly filled Fukus with those things).
I've decided to run a contest to give them away and the best part is that everyone already entered and winners have been selected! Maybe "contest" isn't the right word for this, actually it's not at all the right word but that's what I'm going with because, ya know, sleep madness and all.
Maybe you used the correct number of vowels in your post, maybe you went the right number of words before using any punctuation, maybe it appeared to me in a fevered night terror, maybe you said the secret code phrase, maybe it was just totally random...but however you did it, you "won"! Throwing this crap away is your problem now. Just to be clear, you aren't special. You're getting the same junk as these other suckers (so cheer up).
You'll know you've won when you see a pile of trash in a box show up at your door. And before you ask, no I still won't tell you how or why you won. It'll be funny to see what guesses people come up with though.
I'm on my way out to the warehouse to put together more Fukus now. Hopefully I can finish packing these dozen extras up with garbage before I get dragged kicking and screaming out of the warehouse by @snapster's jackbooted thugs for going off script.

I just think its funny that when @snapster owned the original site, the servers would crash all the time. They would give you advance warning, they would tell us that all hell would be breaking loose and we would all line up, hit F5 till our fingers were broken, while trying to get a BOC. There would be winners and losers, plenty of bitchers and moaners along with gloaters and poor sports. Then there would be those that were happy to get their 1st one or the 15th in a row. But the bottom line was, it was ALL about the chase.
With all of the Bags sold last night, there were still unhappy people, which means, business is good and this new little site is starting to grow up and grow up fast. Those unhappy people will be back, tonight, looking for the next good deal. Hell, this week, I bought T shirts, Power Cords, Emergency Road Kits and lucked out with a Bag last night. There is a reason I come back everyday, and that reason is Glen, no, I mean because I like what I see here, speaker docks or not, I'm looking here everyday for the next good deal. It doesn't matter if it's another drinking cup or Roomba, the products are interesting and different and that's why I like it around here, it's different. I love the forums too.

Btw meh, thanks for keeping me up an extra hour last night trying to see if it had gone through! That's okay, I'm EST and I only had to get up at 5:20. Four hours is a perfectly reasonable length of time to sleep, right? I never saw any confirmation that it went through and finally gave up waiting for the site to come back so I could check my orders. That was about 1:15 am. Woke up, immediately checked my orders to find competent-spectacular-dog at 12:06 am. Maybe the problem is that I'm a cat person?

@duodec I've never complained about a Fukubukuro or a BOC. They've alwys been well worth the money, even if it's only in the fun of waiting for them. (Fuku's are awesome compared to BOCs.)
I just found Meh yesterday. At midnight, on my Android, I had to type in all my card & address info s.l.o.w.l.y, reassure Meh that I really did want one, and wait. Green bars, more green bars... Went to my laptop, tried to buy one. Not allowed, said Meh, you already bought one. Back to green bars. Back to laptop; my credit card said I bought one. Good enough for me, I went to bed. It's not nearly as bad as the historic Woot server crashes, but the howls are just as much fun. I'm delighted; it's a moral victory, and there are so few of those around.

That fuku purchase brought back great memories of what it used to be like buying a BOC before the antechamber and things to hide the 503 and other errors came along.
It may sound strange, but I actually enjoyed that... RDP'd to my work machine and had seven windows open in various browsers from both home and work machines with three sessions doing the refreshing green bar thing and the others trying to check my order status or get to the buy button.
I got the fuku at 12:07, but had no confirmation of it until 12:34... saw the charge confirmed on my CC before the meh orders page even came up (at one point, the page came up with no orders).
Thanks! Brought back great memories of how this sort of thing really should work.

Congrats to all of those who were lucky enough to snag a fuku. To those of us who missed it (myself included), I say "meh".
I tried for years to get a BOC. But the god's were not with me. So when my alarm went off at 10:59 last night and I was able to get on and click the Buy button my heart fluttered for a moment. Then another browser let me click the BUY button too. Could it be that tonight was going to be THE night? After watching the green bar go back and forth for 20 minutes it told me that I couldn't buy it because................. I HAD ALREADY BOUGHT ONE!!!! I feel somehow more complete today as a person.

Holy Moly! I'm at a Conference in Chicago and made it back to my room just minutes before the magical "new item" time. Immediately clicked the magical button, watched it load and load and load for ages, then it returned to the main page. Argh! I clicked again and after a while it told me "something went wrong." Ok kids. Gather around I have a story about my adventures in scoring a Fukubukuro 3 last night.
First, I get layed off from my job on Wednesday or I may not even have been up at 11PM CST to see it. Secondly, I had activated a new American Express card Friday, and my card had a new security code. So I checked meh.com at 11PM on my Windowsphone. Holy shit, Fuku 3! Refresh, refresh, repeat. Finally I press buy the sucker. Refresh, refresh, repeat. Error. Damn old security code. Enter Amex number again with new code. Wait 4 digit code from front or 3 digit code from back like Mastercard. Enter 4 digit, hit buy. Wait. Something terribly wrong. So then I enter my Mastercard number and security code. Error- You already purchased one. All the time of course I'm battling server errors, which are the fault of one @cengland0. I finally got to check my orders page and low and behold, bleary-limping-screwdriver, as of 11:16 PM CST! Whew. And all of this on a flipping Lumia 920 Windowsphone. I know, TL:DR Thanks meh.

Mine went through right at 12:00 am and my husband's went through at 12:03. Great job, Meh! Sorry everyone else is so busy complaining and stomping their feet. I couldn't get anything to load afterward, but I figured it was because people were just hitting refresh over and over and making it worse, so I decided to wait until they gave up to come back and thank you all for the great experience. I don't mind the difficulties in getting a fukubukuro. For me, the challenge to get one is a large part of the fun. If everything runs smoothly, you don't waste as much time, but then the excitement and anticipation is also short-lived.
I managed to get one. If I hadn't, there would have been disappointment, but I would have still enjoyed the attempt.

@shawn I'm not going to say he's definitely a robutt (how Zoidberg pronounces the word), but it sure seems that someone is running a script that looks for instances of colours and posts that particular comment as a reply. Pretty sure there is some human interaction behind the account as well, however, but I would be highly surprised if said human actually was reading through every post and replying seemingly without fail to any colourful posts.
I could not get past the buy stage, it would not take my money. This is BS.

Well, I was able to hang on long enough to get a Fukubukro (when I was finally able to see what was for sale).
I was kind of hoping it was another deep fryer for ten bucks. I really wanted a deep fryer. Lots of people wanted a deep fryer. I've got a deep fryer, but it would be nice to make more than a dozen potato chips at a time.
It was nice, though, to score the fukubukuro. I like the bag. I'll carry that bag with pride. I promise.

One of those still has a green loading bar going (and the other two show sold out because, well, obviously they sold out.)
I'm not sure why I'm hesitant to close that third window. It's not like I'm gonna get one (more?) some how.

@editorkid Actually, that's one of the reasons I miss the days you had to choose one, two, or three bags on Woot. Choosing three really got you a better bag, but added that little extra risk. But I'm a gambler and that gamble always paid off for me.

@root - So STRIPE is a thing? I never heard of it before. Is it an intermediary for meh and AmEx?
@KDemo I only know that all of my previous Meh orders (all paid with AMEX) show up as STRIPE. But looking into it further, Stripe is a payment processing company that charges 2.9% + $0.30 on all credit/debit transactions. If the buyer is using an AMEX card, whose fees are generally higher than Visa/MC, it could be cheaper to use Stripe versus other companies. Meh could be selectively routing only AMEX-based payments through Stripe, while routing Visa/MC/debit transactions through a different payment processor that charges lower fees. Or this could all be pointless speculation :-P

Turns out one of my attempts went through, although I never got (or noticed, anyway) a confirmation screen. Since I didn't get a conf, I kept trying again & again...realized, too, that one benefit of email receipts is that you tend to know for sure that you've bought something. Thank goodness or whatever that these things are coming. That's my story & I'm sticking to it.

@Santo In my case it meant I got one. A lot of people keep refreshing/spamming multiple windows while it is best to just let it play out. I bought at 11 even charged at 11:03 couldn't get to order page to verify until after 11:30. My green bar vanished and kicked me back to main page around 11:10 but it went through. Best of luck!

Got to the screen when only 37 were sold, but after clicking "Buy" all I got as a white screen. Logged on again when 485 were sold and all I got for 45 minutes was the damn moving green line, until sold out.
They are going to have some problems sorting out who was successful however since my debit card was charged three times but I never received the confirmation of the purchase.
That was almost as bad try to secure tickets for San Diego's Comic Con which sells out 40,000+ tickets in about 10 minutes when sales go on line

ugggghhhh! I'm trying to shop! Please sell stuff. I hate these bags. I've read threads about them which all demonstrate that they are full of junk, people freak out about it and break the site, and then after the dust settles in a few minutes, there's nothing for sale all day long. Sigh.
@Lera I would recommend you do not buy one because, like you said, it will probably contain nothing but junk. You shouldn't have any high expectations on receiving anything good at all. With that said, that leaves one more bag for the rest of us.
@cengland0 oh nonono, I'm not being clear. I don't want the junk bag. For whatever reason, that bug has never bitten me, though I see other people going absolutely bananas over these bags both here and on Woot. I just mean here on meh a whole day will be wasted with no actual product available for me to shop. The five minutes the bag is available for those who want to try for it pass quickly, and then there are just... tumbleweeds for 24 hours. I wish they could offer the bag next to a real product that's available for everyone to buy. But maybe that takes away from whatever benefit they get from the bags of junk.

@neuromancer The FUKU was sold on a Friday so it's likely some people will end up with a crappy speaker dock that doesn't work with their devices.
@Lera My two cents, for whatever that's worth. Generally speaking, you pay $5 for a FUKU and you receive more than $5 worth of stuff. Perhaps some of it is not something you want or need but it is always nice to receive a surprise in the mail. Every BOC and FUKU I've received, I always got items I didn't want and had no problem finding a good home (re-gifting) for them. It makes other people happy to receive random items and it makes me happy to give it to them. That's definitely worth the $5 it costs.

@Lera If they didn't do this occasionally the Meh offices and warehouse would swell up and explode with all of the crap that didn't sell or crap that they find on the way to work, or while walking down the street or whatever they find in the dumpsters while diving.
Soooo, never got a boc, or a fuku, and from reading this thread, it seems the very meh-est of the meh talent seems to have not made the cut (a true hallmark of meh-ness) and have brought their own brand of customer service suckitude with them when the coding was done for the fukus.
At least code up a lottery with a timeout and just let people know they entered, lost and can try again in a hour. Easy peasy. Even a meh chimp could code up something like that for a far better user experience and transparency and fairness, not just those with 4 PC and 45 windows each in privacy mode scripted to auto-refresh when the fuku-nee-boc event triggers.
I'm more than happy to send my Lincolns to a website more interested in parting me from them than being smug about tautologous mediocrity. Or a website in search of a pivot man.

I set my alarm at 12 for the past month hoping to score a bag. Finally it paid off (I hope). Page loaded kinda quick, I was stuck at checkout for about 5 minutes and told me something went wrong try again, all disappointed it tried and it erred saying I already ordered one. Then I couldn't sleep wondering if one was actually ordered or if that error message was wrong. By 12:30 it showed in my orders. :)

I laid in bed, eagerly awaiting 11:00. Would I find my next Christmas present for family!? My heart stopped beating as I pressed reload and waited for the page to show me the wonder. I nearly had a heart attack as I saw it, a Fukubukuro bag. Flashbacks to all the missed mysteries on woot and the bag I missed on meh raced through my mind. Acting on instinct, I had trained for this, I bought it and raced through the purchase screen. Did it work!? I can't log into my account! My racing heart was finally sated by the notification in my email confirming my purchase.
I eagerly wait the meh gift that is on my way.

Then I got the bright idea to check my credit card statement online...hmmm...$5 meh purchase. Tried to check order status and page refused to load. Checked order status today...and voila! Got one! Somewhere in that mess, even though it never showed a completed order page, my order went through. Happy days are here!!!

I waited, clicked, refreshed and memorized the something went terribly wrong song as my sister was doing her victory dance since she scored hers right away. I must have watched the green bar load 20x as it told me something went wrong before it said sold out. I think I cried myself to sleep. This morning I got arrogant-original-nut in my order screen!! I faced the fun of clicking and clicking and getting error message after message. I got to the page to pay, and clicked the buy tab over and over. Eventually I got a "we don't have anymore" message. So I went to bed with the thought that I had not obtained A fuku. I went back the next day and looked at my orders tab and behold! the order had gone through the first time (although it never gave me a confirmation). So here's to getting my first fuku box, I'm crossing my fingers with the hopes that it will contain something They Might Be Giantsy since it was theme song day as well and I love me some TMBG. @meh The USPS tracking number only works after the FedEx tracking page says "Shipment information sent to U.S. Postal Service". So you got the expected result for a package that FedEx hasn't processed yet. Send halp an email about the package not getting to FedEx yet. (Don't expect an answer right away, they are a little behind.)

@wyk3d are you sure those are charges, or are they thirteen $1 authorizations for each of your attempts? It usually takes a couple days after the transaction date for it to post to a credit card.

@DaniDew Not for me, it's a autocharge on your method of payment at same time every month. When I first signed up I was charged $5 right away in a seperate charge. Didn't get the "free month" to cancel like people were saying in the orginial announcement thread/FAQ for it.
@BabyBear I recently had to change my credit card on file to a new one... But meh did it just fine... Unless it stored my old credit card for VMP purposes, and when it failed, it just canceled my VMP membership. That's so weird... I should've at least been notified.

@unkabob Dammit to meh! I deleted the top reply of this post yet there it is with no chance to edit/delete.. Much like the fucu I lost out on. When I got here third in line.. punched the buy saw the green line enough times to be mezmorized then that damn song over and over (in my mind) then I looked and it turned into #584.. I tried my damndest to be 585 but then, well that damn song came back and I had to go pee then a blank screen.. Damn, do I have to keep going? I could you know for another hour or so but then came #1045 and suddenly everything started working like a charm so I went back and saw.. Well the rest is history.. For the entire time I was trying to spend my Lincoln I felt like a turd in a swimming pool with all that meh avoidence.
To be more specific we were actually back on site at 10:58. Then we refreshed at 11 CST, which is 12 am EST, and I think everyone who was around knows what happened after that. I'm just glad we got one.

@ejcook111 When I first went to the meh page, I couldn't connect. I even went to http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ to see if it was a problem on my end. I was on my old HP Touchpad and I thought maybe it was having a hard time connecting, so I booted up the computer. Same problem. I had two browsers going, both on Meh. One would work (I could order one, then the green bar just kept refreshing over and over) and the other would get the "there's a problem" (I muted it). It took me over an hour of clicking, then it was sold out. The only reason I even knew I'd gotten one was I checked my credit card account. I figured "it has to sell out sooner or later, I'm not quitting until I know it's gone." Because you never ever walk away from one of these thinking it will be there tomorrow. It won't be. Those deep fryers. They sold out in twenty minutes. And those are the only reason I check when the new product comes up.

@hallmike Woot refurb. It came up in the morning, DH said I couldn't have it, it sold out. We had a cat who's kidneys finally gave out, took him to the vet, said goodbye, came home, Woot had found more. I got my Touchpad. 32GB. I sure miss Benny, though, he was an awesome kitty.

My first and only dog, Angel, that I raised from a puppy -- we were the best friends ever -- got massively sick and I had to take out a loan for the vet bills and she didn't make it. I had to say goodbye at the dog hospital, and when I got home that day I had a package. It was a CR-48, Google's prototype Chromebook. Turns out I got selected in the developer program, and was one of the last shipments -- I had given up hope. Didn't help much at first, (and actually using it reminded me of that awful day) but later it kind of saved my life.

@kuoh Yeah, Smartpost, but my PO is usually really good at processing them when they come in over night and get them out same day. Sadly the FedEx tracking on smartpost seems to have a 6+ hour delay in updates, the package is usually at my door before the tracking even updates to 'transferred to post office' lol.

So yea fedex smart post officially blows more than ever. Took 3 weeks to get my iPhone cords now fukubukuro bag has been with fedex for 2 weeks and hasn't moved in 6 days and counting. In the past couple days my Amazon orders came in on time and even 13 deals was faster. Look like my meh days are over. No sense ordering when fedex sits an their asses for weeks on end.

@jwshideler @meh @brandon I was thinking about Fukus yesterday and figured I'd check to see if anyone else had updates. I have received nothing. Still nothing showing on FedEx and no update on tracking info. It's been 7 full business days (assuming ship date was Dec. 31st and ignoring 1/1 as it's a holiday) since they were shipped. It typically takes 6-10 business to receive my orders from Meh.
Just a friendly update with what I've been thinking about. Have you guys gotten/heard anything yet?

I think Jon's most recent comment (Last Friday 1/30/15) is related to the shipment @meh said she was getting, but then got removed (1/19/15). @Hart responded saying those were pulled. I think that is the same thing JonT is referencing. On valentines day (1/14/15) will mark 3 months since the order was placed. It would be swell if @snapster or someone other than cx service would chime in on this to re-boost our assurance that this is really being handled. An explanation as to why it takes over 60 days to handle 5 missed orders. A customer service tip from my experience as a manager at an ISP. Admit the mistake, explain what happened to cause the mistake, and the steps being taken to prevent these mistakes from happening in the future. Build back our confidence. Just my two cents.

We bring our own insights, ideas, and even mistakes to the project. On top of that, we're a young company and growing fast. When you're growing fast, sometimes things slip through the cracks. This was one of them. I'm going to drop what I'm doing and work on this for you now. It's unfair that you guys have had to wait this long, and I'm so sorry. Hopefully, the Fuku will be worth the wait.

@hart Well I got mine today, and I was afraid this would happen. I had been waiting for my Kickstarter fuku since July, but what I got today was a duplicate of Fuku 3, which I actually did get back in November. So, yet another Meh bag, creature cup, Y-splitter and 2-Pac shot glass, plus 2 other items. I was really hoping for something that would make the six month wait worthwhile, but Meh breaks my heart again, and right before Valentine’s Day. Actually, today is Friday the 13th, so that part is appropriate.
@Trillian That's disappointing to hear. I am still waiting for my fuku 3 from November. Was hoping it would be something fabulous to make up for the wait. Like maybe a TV or Roomba, neither of which I have. Ah well, another fuku bag it will be.

@meh Finally got my Fuku #3 today, which was pretty much a box of meh. Iced coffe/tea maker was the largest item, but since I don't drink either I'll be donating to my friend's charity auction. Got the Y splitter thingy, Fuku bag, flat water bottle, creature mug, several bags of Texas air and big ass knife. The thing that scares me about the knife is that it has an "As Seen On TV" logo.

@meh Ouch! Anyway, I received: 2 pack Contigo Shake and go cups. Vapur flat water bottle, Creature Cups with a pelican in it. y splitter, and Awkward Famly Photos Book. My wife is sure happy about those cups. And we used the collapsible water bottles for travel so we're pretty happy. Not worth 3 months of wait time, but definitely worth the fuku purchase.

@Bogie I was wondering what ever happened to this. Saintly levels of patience. I too was promised some results when i got a super substandard box but i gave up on that endeavor. Good on you for continuing to fight the good fight.

@kuoh Not quite sure I agree with you on this. 7 months of refusing to follow up even with a simple "This isn't going to happen, sorry" can be excused due to getting married.
@kuoh In all fairness to @Bogie, @JonT made the promise long before he got engaged.. ;)
@Bogie I think it's safe to say that it's not happening at this point.
@Bogie Oh I wasn't trying to make excuses for him. Just saying there could've been other reminder opportunities before right now. Having patience is commendable, but too much of it can also backfire.

It's bad business to promise something to customers then not deliver. But to never respond back to the customer who keeps asking about it is just wrong. It takes 10 seconds to post "This isn't going to happen". Then it can be done, book closed, over with.

This started because about 6 of us didn't get a product we ordered(Fuku #3). It took Meh.com almost 3 months to get this sorted out and the issue resolved. An agent of Meh.com then offered something with a time frame without any prompting from the customers effected. We were just happy that meh.com rectified the issue. This offering from the agent was offered freely, I presume, an apology to "make things right".
The agent has now set an expectation, and has for 7 months completely ignored the customer(s).
In the beginning I was just being a good guy making sure that we were getting what I paid for. You can read through this thread to see that I was kind and civil through the whole ordeal. Now, though, I'm not letting it drop. I don't want to be ignored, if not for me, but for the rest of those that don't want to have to deal with it. I'll continue to follow up every once and a while to remind them that we wont be forgotten.
I want to clarify to, that I don't expect to receive any type of physical goods, and I'm perfectly okay with that. I just want this situation to be acknowledged, and for someone from the company to see that it's bad business to make empty promises to their customers. I just want someone from Meh to tell me/us that this isn't going to happen, as I have said multiple times before.

@Bogie There is a lot to this whole situation and I could go into the specific reasons behind why this hasn't been done (and still can if you really want that), but I feel that they'd mostly just seem like excuses at this point.
We've shipped out those something extras as of today.
@JonT Um, there really was 7 of us. Truly. I've been good, real real quiet, real real quiet, like not said a single word about it. For 7 very, very long months. So did mine, finally, ship out today with lots of those there extras?

I would have convinced myself to stay awake for 15 minutes more for the next hours worth, prompting me to stay awake until the page loaded. FYI @packer I am crabby and tired I stayed up past my bed time and did not get a BOC.

I tried to go to meh.com at 10:10 (10 is when it changes in my timezone) and the server was down (according to isitdownrightnow.com) so I tried again at 11 only to have it say something went terribly wrong so I went to bed, woke up and sold out. Good thing I got a BOC from woot already this week. Bloody meh website crashing.
