@mike808 Well,since we now have soy,almond,oat,etc. etc. MILK, why not snake milk for the trendy? Don’t even get me going on labeling any of those products as milk
I wonder if people were wary of iburprofen when it was first marketed, because it fits most of this. You can even pop open the gel caplets and put it on insect bites or other blemishes to take down swelling and pain externally.
@mbersiam Not really, because Motrin was originally a prescription drug given to patients who said HellaNO! to opioids. I was given 1200 mg Motrin after oral surgery, so I knew it worked before the 200 mg tabs became available OTC. And for the record, I do keep some of the gelcaps and have used them on mosquito bites.
@blaineg Perhaps you have been relying on snake oil to treat insect bites? The best treatment for stings/bites is usually a topical antihistamine like Benadryl. But when I didn’t have any available but had IB liquid caps, I tried some of the gel on a mosquito bite that was really swollen. It did reduce the swelling, though it didn’t do anything to help the itch. I’ve never tried Genuine Snake Oil on insect bites, so I can’t say that it wouldn’t work better. YMMV.
I know it doesn’t work anyway, but how is snake oil which says “used external only” supposed to help sore throats?
@walarney I bought one of these and for the life of me couldn’t figure out how to use it.
@walarney
@bmf @walarney
Always make sure you are buying genuine snake oil because (apparently) there’s a lot of fake stuff being sold.
@rockblossom Hey, show some consideration for the feelings of vegan snake oil consumers!
You insensitive clod!
Thankfully, there are vegan options that didn’t involve inhumane oil extraction techniques on cute, innocent snakes.
@mike808 Snake oil with no snakes involved? Soon they’ll be telling people opposed to fossil fuels that gaslighting can be done with solar panels.
@mike808 It must be really hard to find vegan snakes.

@rockblossom So slightly off topic but I had a back spasm November 2020, which required a ride in the ambulance. I was given
None of it helped either, they had to discharge me because there wasn’t anything that ER could do to help.
I rarely take pain medication because it doesn’t actually do much for me.
@mbersiam @rockblossom Woah, why am I just learning this today?
