Does anyone here have a hotmail address?
4For some reason, our company contact form isn’t sending us some mail from hotmail, yahoo and gmail. I think we have the gmail fixed, but I know the yahoo isn’t working.
I don’t have a hotmail address (outlook addresses come through fine). But I can’t set up a hotmail address since it’s no longer available to sign up for.
We hadn’t gotten any submissions from those three addresses since March 9th. There’s a dashboard that keeps copies of them, so he’s doing quotes and trying to catch up.
But we really need to get this working and I can’t tell what works and what doesn’t.
Whisper to me if you don’t mind helping and I’ll whisper the address back to you.
Thanks.

Nevermind. Found someone.
Yeah, actually… I didn’t know you couldn’t sign up anymore. I wonder if I need to kill the old Hotmail addys.
I think I still have hotmail address. Shout if you need help
@sasantosh Confirm the emails still works.
Yep, sure do.

I have a msn email if you need to check that
Yup still use my hotmail account
It’s still my MS account login too
Somewhat irrelevant, but I was able to create a hotmail account just fine.
What? Doesn’t everyone have Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, and their provider accounts?
I have all accounts, having been an email admin (feel your pain).
@kbstanciel This was a mess.
We have website A. The form resides on A, but the form information is sent through third party B. (Their form code is is on the contact page.)
So, when the submissions hit Gmail, Gmail said “nope, nope, nope…spam” and bounced it because the sent paths didn’t match. They looked bogus to Gmail.
But the bounces went back to party B.
We never saw them. We had no idea this was happening. Curious why quote requests had died off, but reasoned the weather, covid, Easter…
Until we started getting calls asking why they hadn’t gotten a response from us. I checked the submission logs on party B’s website, checked what had been made against what we had received and found the commonality. Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo. Everything else was coming through just fine. This started on March 10th.
After spending a couple of days working with party B and our web host, I tried something I hadn’t even considered (thanks to the web host tech).
Changed the address the notifications are sent to automatically (company@gmail.com) to the actual website contact address (us@company.com), which is forwarded to the gmail address (company@gmail.com).
Having them forwarded to that address instead is working. (The cPanel email clients suck, which is why we started using Gmail.)
Now, I can go back to getting rid of duplicate photos on my system. Down to less than 50,000. When I started, it was over 106,000.
Whew.
I have a hotmail account as well.
Ditto…since 1998
What about a hot male dress?
@phendrick Boo.
Make sure your ‘live.com’ ones are coming through as those are pre outlook too. They were the next ones after hotmail.
Thanks everyone!
I ended up making a really fake address, because I only needed to see if a hotmail address would make it to the destination.
Turns out, Gmail changed algorithms last month and using a different email address (the website addy, not the gmail addy, but the website addy auto forwards to the gmail addy) for the forms being sent worked.
The test hotmail address I used was one I was pretty sure wasn’t one someone used in the past.
“averybogusemailaddy@hotmail.com”
