One of the things I like about this site is when I answer surveys I seem normal. Out in the general public, my responses are usually on the least popular choices.
If I’m going to bed soon after, yes because my hair will be a mess in the morning if I don’t dry it.
If I recently dyed my hair, yes because I get concerned it will leave color on things if it’s wet.
The rest of the time, no. My hair is not quite shoulder length and dries quick enough on its own.
I have hair that reaches that small of my back and all I do is comb it after getting out of the shower and it’s dry ~1 hour later. If I needed a whole routine around it, I’d stop having long hair.
I used to blow dry the life out of my curly locs but when I came to my sense (35 years ago) everything got a whole lot easier! Just a tiny bit of styling glaze makes my ringlets perfect after it’s air dried.
@katbyter This Biotera has been my new favorite and I see Zulily has it right now, I always got it from Sally’s beauty supply store. My original favorite brand was Matrix Biolage but this Biotera has replaced that. (at least for the gel)
Biotera | Alcohol-Free Defining Gel https://www.zulily.com/p/alcohol-free-defining-gel-635943-107336696.html
My favorite hair spray for the top to hold the volume is this Biolage that Amazon carries. https://a.co/d/016R0IX
Towel dry and then use a curling blow dryer that I got from Morningsave for free a while back! It works for taming the sides where it wants to go outwards like clown-hair instead of sedately curling under.
I just throw a cowboy hat on and meander about the house letting evaporation do its thing. It’s everything your Hallmark channel show is missing. Good evening ladies
@Kyeh@macromeh Maybe if you’re a rookie. I do try to be properly attired before the delivery guys show up (but most importantly before the mail lady arrives).
I have lots of thick hair. So I towel dry then usually go to bed. But when I wake up in the morning it’s still damp, so I have to blow dry it then. It’s a bit of a pain in the ass. But if I tried to blow dry it all I’d be drying for at least 30 minutes.
If you have long hair you should never towel dry it. It breaks the follicle .I have these:
BEoffer 3 Pack Microfiber Hair Towel
Super Absorbent Twist Turban for Fast Drying Curly, Long & Thick Hair https://a.co/d/iQWdFvr
and put my hair in this out of the shower and it will get it reasonably dry. Then comb it out with a wide tooth comb. If I have time I let it air dry almost completely (or if I have to blow dry it I will, but I hate it) then I use a paddle styler to get a blow out look.

@Fuzzalini I use one of those turban things, too. I’m growing my hair to donate, so I want to keep it as healthy as possible. I wrap it in the turban and squeeze it from time to time while I finish my post-shower routine. When I take the turban off, I spray Aussie Hair Insurance all over it and comb the top enough to part my hair, then let it air dry. (I don’t have the patience to blow-dry it, plus it’s hard on your hair.) When it’s mostly dry, I finger comb it to untangle it, and once it’s completely dry, I brush it. I also use hair oil on the ends to keep them from drying out too much.
What? You mean my back? Of course! What kind of moron doesn’t dry his back?
It seems, the older I get, the less towel I need for my hair.
If Meh would hurry up and get the trimmer I ordered on Monday delivered, I wouldn’t have to worry about all this hair drying nonsense.

@romellex General Public can be a jerk.
Colonel No Fucks (given) is usually down with whatever
I’m gonna say fully. But I’ve been rocking a buzzcut for 2 decades so… It’s just normal drying off
Which hair?
Just run naked in the street. Dries off everything at once.
@pakopako Not in hot, humid West Central Florida.
@pakopako @yakkoTDI and yet for some reason Florida man does it anyway
@yakkoTDI Run faster.

Of course since it is already dry before the shower.
Sometimes.

The rest of the time, no. My hair is not quite shoulder length and dries quick enough on its own.
I don’t really have a full routine though…
Towel off the water, let the Texas sun do the rest.

@Lynnerizer what glaze is your favorite? Always looking for curly girl wisdom!

Oh, and I will soon have less hair to dry after the ball shaver arrives. Thanks, meh!!

@capnjb But doesn’t the cowboy hat keep the hair on your head from getting dry? I guess the rest of the hair on your body dries off just fine.

@capnjb @Kyeh Doesn’t that result in the dreaded HHH? (Hilarious Hat Hair)

I’m sure your wife appreciates that.

Towel dry only. It’s best for adding my pomade and styling my fauxhawk if there is still some moisture in my hair.

Towel dry, add products, and then mostly dry with blow dryer. Then let it finish air drying. And finally curl it using my flat iron.
Or towel dry, add products, and let it air dry.
