I live in the greatest country on earth.
I have relative good health.
I have a home.
I have food.
I have clothing.
Such as it is, I have a car.
I have enough money to cover my bills.
I have friends.
I have healthy pets.
I even have a half-witted site called ‘Meh’ that I can come to for entertainment.
I think I’m the luckiest, most fortunate person on the planet!
@hchavers Why doesn’t it ring the doorbell rather than knock?? Would I have better chance if I had a ring doorbell, so I could see it before it knocks??
Born under a bad sign
Been down since I begin to crawl
If it wasn’t for bad luck
You know I wouldn’t have no luck at all
If it wasn’t for real bad luck
I wouldn’t have no luck at all
It depends on one’s perspective.
During today’s Mehrathon, I have randomly decided to visit the site 5 times. And on 4 of them, I have been greeted with a “Sold Out” IRK page. Mind you, this is not before the IRK arrives and I’m not quick enough. This is long after it is sold out and just waiting for the next item to flip.
So, I guess I am “lucky” to have not had the blessing of copious amounts of rapid-onset … regret?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Didn’t even realize today was Friday the 13th and I open not oen, but two, umbrellas inside (at an estate sale and testing them out). Went on to find some really great deals
In 5 years I have yet to score an IRK, unlucky, methinks
The question isn’t so much how unlucky am I, it’s how much of that bad luck is self-induced
@TheGreatNico
Exactly!
I’m pretty darned lucky, but I also ended up with an Instant Regret Kit on order, so not that lucky, clearly.

However, for the life of me, I CAN NOT get an Irk! lol
Luck is what you make of it, but it on knocks once. Or is that opportunity? Maybe opportunity itself is luck. Is that too deep?

@eeterrific @hchavers Because the origin of that idiom was before doorbells.

Fuck! Just happened again. It’s like I have a sense for when an IRK will come up, just 2 minutes or so after it does.
Clumsy, but fortune.

@mbersiam So for you opening an umbrella inside must be good luck!
It depends on what you consider lucky…
I don’t really have a lot of bad luck or of good luck. So, no.
The bad things that happen to me are usually directly due to people, not luck.
