I purchased my X Max over a month ago and have yet to plug in a micro (and use earphones, headphones and speakers with it daily). And I very rarely charge other than by Qi (the little door over the charge port is still stiff as fuck from disuse, and I mean to keep it that way), with shit I bought here and at Morningsave.
Though, point taken about Apple and their needing to be special (ftr, I’m all in with Apple, but I don’t deny their fuckery). But, hey, at least it’s better than that 30-pin bullshit.

@kfdavila Well, if it is plugged in, sure. Speedwise, a bit slower than normal (Power Output: 2.0A, 5V DC per spec). On batteries, I’d have to guess no. Even if it did, you’d be mad to burn real batteries to charge a phone.

@kfdavila It’s not abysmal, but for the most part a decent lightning cable and non-ebay-ultracheap brick will charge about twice as fast for less than this. This would allow you to have it sit upright at your desk while you listen to tunes on your wireless earphones though.

@ongware No problem on the iPhone 7 Plus size, but otherwise it really depends on the case. It’d need to be the type of case that has almost nothing along the bottom or it won’t get fully connected.

Great, threw away box (Apts have daily trash valet here) and finally had time to set it up today, only to find out it DOES NOT POWER ON. Did all the trouble shooting, guess I got a defective unit/15 dollar door stop.
